The greenery was amazing, and they did a great job keeping up with everything. It was very clean.
Kind of isolated. Could have more seating outside by the pools. Dress code seemed a little bit too much.

ubicación, instalaciones, parque y entorno,
Faltaba espacio para valijas, secador de pelo y check in muy lento

Amazing staff, beautiful location, perfect week!!

Beautiful location, nice pool, nice beach, comfortable room and lovely spa. Great breakfast.
Overpriced. Cheesy entertainment. I’m sure it’s fine if you like all inclusive places but I guess I don’t. It was like a cheesy landlocked cruise in many ways. Most of the food was pretty good but some meals were very disappointing. I also don’t like the whole ‘preferred’ crap. They had ridiculous rules about not being able to put up the umbrellas in a very light breeze - buy better umbrellas! This type of place is why I never go to the Caribbean or Mexico, just didn’t realize it would be the same in Costa Rica…and that’s the whole point I guess, you could have the exact same experience regardless of where you go. I guess some people like that, but I now know I am definitely not one of them.

close to airport
had to ask for several amenities that was suppose to be in the room

Everything
Check in and out was conducted with only 1 staff. Most flights arrive before noon, so by 3 pm everyone is tired and ready to rest. I waited on a couple that was already there when I got there for 39 minutes before I got upset and demanded to be given my key, since I had already paid .

We loved the view from our room! The pool manager was excellent! Staff was friendly! The shuttle ran awesome!
The pools and furniture are old and not attractive. The lack of towels for over an hour at both pools was ridiculous.

Based on previous reviews, I didn't expect the selection of food to be so good. It was amazing. The service was faster than imagined. The transportation around the resort was efficient. Above all, the customer service and the friendly attitudes of all the employees was world class!

The food is great, although there aren't many choices and breakfast was just meehhh!
The onsite shuttle service is ridiculous! You really can't walk from place to place due to it being spread out and the hills. No night life at all. I definitely go back to Costa Rica, but there isn't a chance in hell I would go back to Secrets Papagayo. Others may have a better experience, but for me, it wasn't in my top 25 resorts, and I have been to many in many different locations.

The bartenders were amazing. The property and rooms are beautiful. The food was very good. The entertainment was very good. The bar selection is very good.
The service at breakfast was not good. The pool is not very large and becomes crowded quickly. Lack of towels at one pool. The property is very large and spread out so may be difficult for some with limited mobility.
5.0
Friendly service no matter the time of day.
The room service menu didn’t have enough variety.

The breakfast was amazing. No wait for a table, lots of items to choose from. Everything was fresh and delish!
Sometimes it was hard to find a lounge chair by the pool.

Good facilities. Yoga. Aqua bar.
Nice room with good view and beautifully cleaned every day.
Waiting staff excellent - kind and friendly and always had a conversation.
The main pool was loud and full of drunken groups throughout the day. Too noisy.
The second quieter pool area was better.
There wasn’t a shuttle into the local town so felt very cut off.
Reception staff inexperienced.

very clean, cars that pick you up were fast, food was very good.
food takes too long to be in your table, the TV was not a smart TV, late night activities should have better music.

Very nice hotel/ resort: well maintained, very clean, very friendly staff, very good food in several restaurants. We stayed for just a few nights during our Costa Rica trip, so definitely recommended for short stays!
Not much really that you could dislike here. The only thing that we would have liked to have were more parasols as it was sometimes impossible to find sunshade spots (with 35 degrees C it becomes relevant).

clean friendly staff impeccable service
not very walkable

Food was very bad. Felt more like a spring-break hotel than a 5-star resort. We were not happy or satisfied with our stay.
3.5
There is a big difference between the place we had first (scorching hot, high climb, nothing around) and the place we ended with (close to the sea, cool, monkeys around).
The public pool: overcrowded, full with noisy people spending their day drinking in the pool, and listening to their shouting radios. The other pool (the quiet pool) is far more pleasant
The beach is pretty, but the sand is full of black soot. There are cleaner beaches around, about half a mile walk by the shore.
It is also possible to rent a self drive boat (if you have a licence), but the one we got was very old, and it was very windy, making the experience somewhat dangerous.

The food and drink at the property are great, the bay is beautiful.
We choose this hotel as it was advertised as a quite romantic resort, what we got was far from this. The main pool has an animation team (which I don’t understand for an adults resorts), that pool is very loud and has a really bad atmosphere, when we were there it felt like a corporate conference mixed with a club 18-30 but for older people. There is a quieter pool but this lacks amenities, the bar there closed at 3 and the restaurant wasn’t open. The beach also is frequented by sales people throughout the day and they come on to the property, despite warnings not to buy from them. Overall it wasn’t the resort for us and we feel it wasn’t worth what we paid. It’s a lovely resort ruined by a forced and loud atmosphere.
