Didn't realise breakfast was included & we were told it would be 14.50 which we thought was not value for money so didn't go. Brilliant location. Staff really helpful.
2.5
nicely located between the harbors,
5 minutes walking distance to the center
room was extremely hot and a poor AirCo was provided, the room was not very clean and needs a maintenance, 1 dirty towel.
Breakfast very, very standard, no freshly prepared food, only boiled eggs.
For the price of the room you can expect much more.
3.0
Good location with splendid sea view.
Confined room, sea view obstructed by cruise ships, basic breakfast, high price for a sporting event with no flexibility in the frame of the event. Everything seems an excuse to make money.

The location, the staff letting me work out of the restaurant for hours. Good breakfast. Clean, comfortable bed. Decent WiFi
Room pics showed a desk which was not there. I could hear a lot of what went on in the next room.

This is just a perfect hotel overlooking the harbour. The rooms are small like cruise ship cabins but very well designed and comfortable. The breakfast and service in the restaurant is excellent.
There wasn't anything to dislike during my one night stop over.

De vriendelijkheid en de locatie. Prima bed overigens.

Niets!

Superb location near the old city center, sleeping in a very cool setting, being a former prison cell. Very good brakfast as well and free parking!
4.5
Very nice location and friendly people all around. Just a short walk to many pubs and inns, nice and neat rooms to stay,
Everything’s all right, however it would be even nicer if the restaurant would not already close at 8 p,m.

Location is just wonderful and we had a beautiful sunny view on the IJsselmeer. It does feel special to sleep in a former prison. Bed was good. Safe parking included.
Unfortunately very noisy rooms; we could hear every sound of our neighbors. The missing of the shower curtain makes everything very wet during and after a shower. And the room was very dirty on important spots.

Beds exceptionally comfortable - and the pillows. Location lovely and very central. Breakfast very good value.

Unique and beautiful setting - right on the harbour side
Unusual quirky experience of sleeping in a converted prison
Onsite parking is helpful
We slept really badly. Room was too hot and we couldn't open the windows.
We ended up getting up at 6am and trying to leave without disturbing neighbours
The hotel description didn't say the bathroom opens into the bedroom so there is no privacy.
Being a prison cell the room is tiny, barely walking space around the double bed.
Complete lack of hanging space, draws or table to even put a wash bag on.
There was a chair but no tea or coffee facilities.
Having checked in at the bar, we were unloading luggage when we found a problem with mechanical boot shutting system so we were delayed until five to eight pm getting back into brasserie. Staff there were not happy to take an order as the kitchen shut at 8pm so asked us to walk into town for a meal instead . They had known we wanted to eat onsite.
We'd love to return to Hoorn town but will not feel a need to book back here. We've seen it and done it once.....

Casual atmosphere of lounge is nice. We were allowed to store our bikes inside, which is good security. Breakfast is abundant and fairly priced; much better than jail food! Location is very convenient to downtown and seaside (lakeside).
Rooms on third floor (top) have reasonable ventilation with openable windows but the elevator area can get warm at peak of day.
3.5
The hotel is very well situated, right in the center of everything, and the view next to it is very good, with the ships etc. We had the courtyard view, which was quite nice (until we saw the other side of the hotel!)
The room is very expensive for not so great quality: it is very small (and as I don’t care that it was a prison, I would prefer pay less), and a bit too cheaply furnished in the bathroom: plastic disposable glasses, no shower curtain, no window..
+ in the morning we saw rooms that have a sea view, they are bigger, much nicer as the view is great and the windows are real ones (not in the roof): everything is ok but not worth this very expensive price. It would have been nice to pay less for a lesser room
Thanks

Fantastic location and staff. Particularly the General Manager, 'Merlin'.
Everything was brilliant.
2.5
The converted historic building and location on a narrow peninsula in a bay
Locating the entry to the check-in and to the hotel's rooms was not marked and not apparent.
The parking location, lot, and spaces were confusing and difficult to find and enter. Again, needs signage.
The WIFI was unusable -- the facility's thick stone walls blocked its reception of the guest's WIFI signal. The hotel's 5G WIFI signal was strong through the walls, but not made available to guests.
The bed barely fit the room - no space to exit on either side. The bathroom was "wet" (no barrier to block shower water from the toilet and sink of the bathroom.

Nothing, it was good!

Old jail house, cinema in same building.
Rooms on ground level are too small, should be cheaper.

Beautifully placed, fun concept staying in the old cell’s. Nice bed and great with locked parking area.
A bit of navigating to understand where the parking was. No door between bathroom and the rest of the room- so no privacy and the whole room get damp when showering.

Breakfast was wonderful. We came to Horne on bicycles so location was perfect for our next destination. We booked for one night only and extended for two more nights due to beauty of the city and low tourist time. Weather was perfect.

Location on the inlet was excellent
quiet yet close to the Town centre
Air conditioning was powerful thank goodness
Rooms MUCH smaller than advertised. Sloping roof meant uncomfortable stooping.
Far too small for two people with large cases.
No reception desk. No clear instructions how to check in.
Breakfast was good but really expensive
