We found it abit hard to find the lodge main office at night
You need to see this place during the day it is set in a stunning forest area with river and sea veiws
The main gate entrance took us down a long windy gravel bushland driveway with a few connecting driveways to separate accommodation areas of the lodge
Follow the signs carefully posted on the trees
On arrival the host was abit shocked to see us he thought we'd cancelled our booking
Easily fixed took a few numbers
The host was very hospitable we appreciate he went above and beyond to make our stay a comfortable one
He offered free use of kayaks
He offered late check out
He offered a free room upgrade because the shared kitchen and bathroom facilities were under renovations and we'rent available
Our 1 bedroom apartment with a private balcony surrounded by nature was amazing it had everything we needed to have a comfortable relaxing 3 day stay during kings birthday long weekend
The lodge has a connecting river and park bbq area great for those summer occasions
I highly recommend this hidden piece of paradise we will be back
Wifi connection was extremely good
We were honored to see the grey owl in his natural habitat during the day

Hosts were good-when we saw them. Great location
,We stayed in the 1 bed cottage. Needs a considerable update. Mosquitos. Remember to bring a deterrent

location was great if you like some peace and quiet. we were also next to the river and waking up to the sound of the river flow was beautiful.
the property provides kayaks and life jackets which is good if you dont want to travel far fo some fun. its a very peaceful place to god and child friendly as well.
tThe house is near new which is great. the kitchen had everything you may need.
The guy who checked us in was nice and checked on us everytime.
service was not that great. Not to get into detail but we struggled to get our linen changed. They have instructions that say leave your towels on the floor if you want them changed but no one came. When we asked for new towels and bed linen we were asked a lot of questions not very nice but well finally got them changed.
The house was extremely hot and uncomfortable especially at night. we had to ask for a fan and we got one which was nice.
There was a lot of cob webs in the house.

Manie and his wife are exceptional. They accommodated our needs and are very welcoming.
It is a great place for families with young children. Access to a playground, picnic & BBQ area and the kayaks was awesome and our kids had great pleasure using these facilities at no extra cost.
Communication with staff post-stay was good, but could have been more timely.
4.3
Friendly & welcoming staff and owner. Great remote location away from the main road ideal for kids. Nice swimming spot with kayaks. Kids have alot of things to do (aside from swimming & kayaking) from jumping on the trampoline & playing on playground. Clean sheets & towels. Bbq onsite & open shared kitchen. Bush walks and also get to see glow worms st night if your lucky.
Hard to see when the outside toilet lights are not on at night. Tv wasnt working (no signal) but wasnt an issue as we were there to enjoy the outdoors. Mens toilets could do with a bug spray as kids were scared to go toilet or shower as often found big spiders. Could do with a fan in the room as it tends to get hot if windows are closed so bugs dont get in at night. Also need to replace bug repellent in rooms if they have run out as it helps to keep bugs out.

Peace and quite, cabins were clean and tidy, loved 😍 the walks, great place to take a family 👪 didn't do any swimming in the river but told my grand kids about it they want to come and see. All up up thumbs 👍 up.
Beds were just right, slept like a 👶 baby.
What was there to not like: loved my weekend away.

Did not have a tea towel, bath mat or hand towel. But otherwise was all good.

The location here was perfect - off the beaten track, but easy access to the main road, and a fab pub that serves delicious food just a 5 min drive away, plus local dairy.
The attention to detail on your stay was superb, including a massive folder of things to do, places to visit and eat, as well as learning about the history of the lodge, and it's owners.
Had a very warm welcome on arrival, and great introduction to the lodge.
The cabin we stayed in was really cute, and just what we needed for our long weekend stay - all the amenities, including a bbq just outside, which would be perfect in the summer. We had a cabin next door, but we still felt very private, as our entrance was secluded from the other cabin. Plenty warm enough with heaters, and the shower was lovely after a day out fishing!
The bedroom was small, but didn't need to be bigger, as it was just the two of us, and plenty comfortable. There was the option of an additional bedroom upstairs, but would need to be careful, as the stairs are very steep and narrow!
Lovely selection of tea, coffee and hot chocolate in the cabin, and also a small fridge which was perfect for milk and any other groceries.
Would definitely recommend this as a place to stay, and I would consider going again if we are to visit this area.
The only thing for us was that the sofa was quite uncomfortable, but other than that it was great!

Enjoyable break from the tension of the city

Owners are very welcoming. Nice little play area for little kids.
Units very outdated.
Kitchen area as well very outdated.
Both were clean though.

Wonderful little spot, Great fun for the kids and the Staff are super friendly and very knowledgeable.
Mosquitoes.

The setting is exquisite, especially if you want to interact with nature, the river, the birds and the sea. Getting away from the hustle and bustle of the busy city life...here time stops for a while to ponder and relax. Great to just be in a cosy environment with excellent hosts who are willing to make your stay even more special.
Nothing really, as the comfort and coziness was exemplary.
4.3
The cabins were incredibly comfortable and good value for money! It's a beautiful area tucked away but not too far from Thames. The owners were very friendly and we had a very comfortable stay.
The kitchen is a bit small to do much in so best to bring very basic food to prepare. Also there was a jug in the room but no water so you have to fill it up in the kitchen block but this was minor.
4.3
Loved the tranquillity of the place, lost in the forest, at the shore of a small river, birds chirping... a real retreat.
