One of the most charming hotels I have ever stayed at! Gorgeous views, luxurious rooms with creative local decor, exceptional food and service - yet it all felt cozy and welcoming. Small touches like fresh fruit and brass keys instead of those hideous cards made it extra special. The dinner was one of the best we had in all of Germany, and the breakfast buffet with homemade breads and yogurts was wonderful. Loved that it was dog-friendly, even though our dog was not with us. The goats (sheep?) grazing on the pasture directly behind the hotel were the perfect Alpine touch. The entire family loved our time here.
The hotel is up on the side of a very steep mountain, so make sure you book a taxi in advance. Mobile service was a bit unpredictable so plan ahead on transport.

Great location, food in the main restaurant was really great!

location
restaurant is very good
Breakfast was awful, although we got down at 9.30am.
We were looking forward to a restful two day stay using our balcony room that were had booked. We arrived two hours before check in closed to find our room had been given to someone else and could not changed!! We were given an upgrade (apparently) but the room did not have a balcony and not as comfortable or suitable for us. it was all very disappointing and we cut our stay short and moved on to somewhere else!

Lovely, well equipped rooms. Cleaned daily. Staff, when available, we're pleasant.
Bar and restaurant closed for 2 of our 4 days. Expected at least bar to be open given remote location. Reception seldom manned. No information on skiing. Basic breakfast. Reception staff need training and local information. No pre warning re snow chain requirement. €25 per day for dog expensive. Promised treats and toy but not received.

Great location overlooking lake and right on hiking trails, beautiful views. delicious breakfast and dinner. Friendly and helpful staff.
My hotel room is as quite small without a view.

Many breakfast options, lovely presentation.

Exceptional stay! The hotel is very nicely located with an amazing view at Tegernsee, the staff is very friendly specially Frau Schneider and the lovely breakfast staff.
I booked a room with a lake view and it was the highlight of the trip! The view is breathtaking specially at early morning hours. The hotel itself is a charming typical Bavarian house with great facilities and parking possibility.
The breakfast buffet was delicious and they prepared for me different egg dishes.
Everything was perfect, I hope to visit again soon.

Fabulous location, amazing views, very friendly staff and great food
Expensive for what it is. At this level I expect sauna, bathrobes in the room and plush towels.

You will have a great view of Lake Tegernsee if you choose the right type of the room. Friendly and helpful staff. Tasty breakfast, although more about it in "what we didn't like".
The staff during breakfast were often chaotic and were not delivering what they were asked for. This hotel, like many other hotels, runs its own restaurant which is rather popular in the area and open to non-hotel guests which quickly results in no free parking places at dinner time. Moreover, parking there is a bit challenging as the road is very steep and less experience drivers may have troubles with parking, especially when they come with unnecessarily huge cars (SUV, etc.). Unfortunately, our car got damaged there, presumably by some tipsy or unexperienced driver after their dinner. Parking with manual transmission may not be easy.
Lake Tegernsee is a rather posh place in Bavaria and prices need to be expected to be high. It applies to this hotel too. On the other hand, you always need a car to move from the hotel to any place directly at the lake, so it makes more sense to look for another hotel elsewhere, which offers rooms at much lower prices and then commute. The traffic in this area is not very high.

Lovely hotel with great views across the lake. The staff were very kind and helpful, the food in the restaurant was great and we loved our room with it's private balcony. It's a very convenient starting point for hikes in the local hills. There's a 10 minute walk down to the village.
The only thing that could be improved would be to provide better shampoo (the one provided was very drying for my fine hair) and to provide conditioner.

The location is fantastic, with amazing viewpoint, about a 10-15min hike up from town.
Breakfast is good, the Prosecco a nice touch with friendly service, efficient and helpful.
Lack of value for money, at nearly 300 Euro’s a night I’d expected a lot more.
As residents we were unable to dine in the restaurant. We hadn’t reserved in advance and the hotel hadn’t notified us it was necessary. The gentleman laughed when I asked for a table, by the time I’d suggested they should look after their residents and they’d reluctantly maybe found us something, we declined, the idea of a couple hours, spending another couple of hundred euro’s on dinner no longer sounded enjoyable.
Unfortunately we didn’t quite have the lake view from the suite of the terrace we’d paid for, whilst it has a large terrace it is obscured by beautiful plants and the lake is only visible when stood.
The room is a little tired, leaking shower, poor quality bedding on 2 springy twin beds (great for a romantic trip!) with one thin pillow and threadbare towels.
The foundations are there for a fantastic place, they just need to invest a little.
