Excellent location
Great breakfast and great room

The beds were comfortable. The breakfast was good. The bathroom is large, with nice heated floors.
No smoking on the outside balcony.
The shower never quite closed fully and would get water on the floor easily.

I recently had revisited Der Westerhof Hotel, a decade after my first stay, and I was truly amazed by the expansion and improvements that have taken place by Dr. Andreas Greither. Their commitment to growth and improvement over the past 10 years is truly commendable, and the results speak for themselves.
During this visit, I stayed in one of their Senior Suites, which was incredibly spacious and comfortable. The room was tastefully decorated and well-appointed, making it a relaxing home away from home. The highlight of the suite, though, was undoubtedly the stunning view of Lake Tegernsee. Waking up to such a beautiful sight each morning was a real treat.
At the hotel, we noticed that only a small number of staff members were proficient in English, which presented minor communication challenges. It was evident that the hotel was experiencing staff shortages. This contrasted with my visit a decade ago when all staff members were fluent in English and went above and beyond to offer additional services.

Priceless view over Tegernsee! Fantastic & comfy room. Super nice service.
The sleeping couch in the living room ;-) Looks nice, but it's a bit of a back killer for the night (for adults).. It was still very fine for our daughter.

Beautiful scenery, Bavarian decor.
It was expensive - a little harsh on the pocketbook but a beautiful property.

The location and mainly the views are stunning.
we selected the hotel as we could charge our e-car. However the hotel was only reachable in the evening due to road maintenance. you would think this is not an issue as you could charge at night. However as the construction work stared at 8 in the morning it meant that you had to remove your car from the hotel parking or else you could not leave. The strange thing was that there was an alternative road, but this was not allowed for guest. Clearly only local residents were allowed to use this. Parking was possible at the road lower to the hotel or at a paid parking lot 10min walking. The hotel did not offer any alternative or compensation, nor did they support on helping with the luggage from and to the car when parked at the public street or parking lot. Not very customer friendly. Although the construction work was not their doing, the hotel could have done a lot more to support their guests.

They list the breakfast as a Continental Buffet, but it is truly a wonderful hot/cold buffet with a wonderful choice of food.
The view is spectacular!
The wellness area with 2 different kinds of saunas was also a very pleasant surprise.
The fitness room could be better kept up.
I wish they did dinner there as driving home after dinner is a little challening with that steep mountain road. That said, taxis are inexpensive there.

Spectacular view from the Room's balcony.
Great staff that helped with a complex booking across multiple friends.
Wonderful German breakfast.
Really nothing to complain about!
The drive up to the Hotel is very steep, but that comes with the landscape!
The hotel therefore is hardly walk-distance, as it's a very steep, long uphill path from the town center.
Not something to complain about, just a fact that's not easily visible from a map :)

The lake view from the room is amazing.
The room is small, doesn't look like the pictures. There is no kettle and no tea or coffee in the room, except a bottle of water. So you can't relax and enjoy a cuppa in the evening. So it is not value for money.

Lovely staff. We did not like our first room but got to move into another. That room was lovely and the view stunning!
The first room was too small and not as advertised.

we were the only guests
the hotel was actually closed and had one man there looking after everything. found this odd. he had to make our breakfast. not sure why our booking was accepted if they were closed. no spa facilities or room service or towel change.

The "Semmeln" at breakfast were great - The view from the room was fantastic
The room was very small. Furniture and apparels did not reflect the ca. 215€ per night (off-season). Also it was quite noisy at night. You could hear conversations in neighbouring rooms and on the floor.

Stunning location, extraordinary views, spotlessly clean, excellent breakfast.
The reception was almost never staffed, having to wait 10 minutes for the receptionist to finish having their phone call in another room before being able to check in is not commensurate with the rates being charged.

The property is in a nice location and with nice grounds with amazing views. Breakfast sitting outside is great and afternoon tea can be taken with an amazing view.
We paid for a view of the lake and were given at best a partial view room. If you stood inside you could see a little of the lake through some trees, the view did get better if you were on the balcony, but not very helpful in the rain. The hotel is really high up a hill and you really need a car to get to the lake or town. Sadly when we arrived the road was closed for some work, so we had to park some distance from the hotel. We were travelling with a child and would not have stayed here if we would have know. It was not clear on the booking website. The hotel doesn’t really have a bar, they have an area you can get a few drinks but not what I would call a bar.
We left at 7am for an early flight, there was no one at the checkout. We didnt have any option other to leave. They then had some issues charging my card, which is odd as my credit card had no reason for this not work. I received emails with lots of !!!!!!!, which I thought was a little excessive. I had to call and solve this problem for them with a bank transfer.
We had a nice time at the lake and would visit again, but would not be staying at this property.

The pictures and proximity to the lake are deceiving. The hotel is old, and the amenities are lacking. Breakfast, the lady was very rude. She thought I only spoke English, so I didn't realize I understood what she was saying in German. All in all, the hotel is not worth the cost. No food nearby, nor available in the hotel unless breakfast. We had to leave early, thankfully.

The hotel is beautifully located above Tegernsee with a great view of the lake and the neighboring cities Rottach-Egern and Bad Wiessee. The hotel is surrounded by mountains, the view from the hotel terrace is spectacular. Rooms are equipped with everything you need and the breakfast selection offers a variety of choices for everyone. Coffee and cakes are served in the afternoon for free. Parking spaces at the hotel were plentiful. Hygiene processes put in place due to Covid-19 made us feel as safe as possible during the stay.
Be aware that the hotel is located above Tegernsee, on a steep hill. Walking to Tegernsee city center and back up to the hotel might not be for everyone. The gym was equipped with the basic tools but was rather small compared to other hotels (but who needs a gym when you can explore the surrounding mountains?). The mattress was very soft - too soft for our preference.

The hotel is located up the heal so it has really nice view of the lake. It is a very big hotel with a lot of rooms and quit nice big garden and walking area around.
We were staying at a comfort delux room with lake view. The view is stunning
We were staying at a comfort delux room which was very small. We were traveling with our 1 year old and was a bit tight for 3 of us in the room.
The toilet and shower is very small and tight.
They have a kids club room which I found the idea really nice but the room is located in the old part of the hotel and smells very old and is very stuffy!
The baby bed provided had a very uncomfortable matress.
