Bar area nice and inviting . Location next to river nice
Staying hotel for a number of years . Room dated not changed in many years , carpets torn in room . Expensive , yes I booked last min and only got a family room , hence maybe why higher price but room really poor . Food average and starters over cooked

Friendly & helpful staff. Comfortable bed. Nice location beside River Trent.
Surprised and disappointed that evening meals were not available on a Sunday (but there is an excellent curry house just along the river).

room clean and spacious, Staff were lovely and bent over backwards to help . Good chef who knows how to cook a steak! Couldn’t fault this place
Only niggle was the tv was too low on the wall above the bed. , my son caught his head on it a couple of times…. but that is it !

room and staff were great.

Our room was above the karaoke in the bar downstairs which was incredibly loud. Once it had finished we could hear heavy furniture being moved around for another hour and then again early in the morning.

Location great, we were part of a group who had all booked here.
Room needed a good clean, filthy shower and toilet area. No cooked food available, should have been told prior to arrival, we all booked at this establishment because we thought that we could have a drink and evening meal without having to go out. No cooked breakfast available. A simple telephone call prior to arrival would have given us options. Room service and into the room on day 2 and simply washed cups and replenished coffee, nothing else.A reduction in price should have been offered.
Disappointed with both Booking.com and Marstons.

The Location and parking was spot on !!!
Bathroom and room was average for cleanliness , The cleaner should move some of the furniture before cleaning , loads of dust in the room and grime in the bathroom , also view was a brick wall with a noisy fan outside of the window, biggest disappointment was due to staff shortages no food was available and was not told about this problem before arrival . Had to travel 2 miles to go for an evening meal so as they could not provide this facility it should have been reflected in the price , I.e. we should have been given a discount on the room rate.

Location and the beds
Alarm going off 3 times early morning and booking.com booked us in twice and took 2 payments for no reason. When booked booking.com said you haven’t completed your details so I did but this lead to 2 bookings? And payments taken twice I had a disagreement at reception over this as they were not sympathetic at all. In future I will not book via booking.com again despite years of booking via them

Typical English pub/hotel room. Super comfortable bed, clean and decent shower. Decor a little faded but that’s part of its charm.
