Staff, animals, food and room were all stunning with great facilities.
People hawking at you from the beach and the seaweed on it. The shower fell off the wall but it was promptly fixed and quite funny!

The location, property, comfort, staff and service were great. We loved the laid back vibe! But, the owner's message in the menu about being inspired by Michelin starred chefs does not reflect the actual menu and the quality of the food served. We ate out a couple of times in the need to find 'local' cuisine. To be honest what we found only a few hundred metres away was delicious, beautifully prepared local food served at a saving on the 'tourist' menu offered at the Zanzibar House Boutique Hotel.
The restaurant menu and food quality.

The hotel is located on the beach and it has a magnificent sea view. You immediately feel in paradise. The rooms were clean and well decorated and they were cleaned (and sprayed against mosquitoes twice a day). The bed was very comfortable and the only thing you heard during the night was the sea. The staff is very friendly and it is the perfect place to relax. The host ( Miria) was extremely caring, friendly, and made us feel at home.
Regarding the services, I had two amazing massages and I can highly recommend it. Every morning there were delicious freshly baked goods. It is clear that this small hotel is managed with a lot of love and you are welcomed as if you’re part of the hosts’ home. The waiting staff (especially Lina and Michael) were fantastic.
The location is beautiful but it also very quiet and the beach has quite a lot of seaweed. It is thus not the perfect place for swimming. The hotel is not suitable for those very allergic to cats or who don’t like them in general. We had no problems because we love cats, but it’s worth mentioning.

Everything. It’s a little paradise with such beautiful little touches such as the pre prepared beach bag in the room. Everyone was incredibly friendly and the dinner was a taste heaven. It’s the perfect place to reenergise and relax. The room had a gorgeous view of the beach and sea. The attention to detail here is beyond words.
Nothing! I wish I had stayed longer - I will be back.

What an absolutely delightful place to call home for a few days! We were looking for a restful spot on a quiet beach after our safari and this was it. The building itself is fascinating….lots of history within, unique and quirky and has everything you need and more. Our rooms were comfy and clean and the balcony in each room overlooking the beach was great. Massi and Miria are the perfect host…there when you need them with answers to all your questions. All staff were so kind and friendly…restaurant staff with whom we interacted the most were the best. The daily breakfast had a perfect selection of continental and hot options. And a juice with fruit and avocado that I wish I could have bottled and brought back home. We ate all three dinners there and they were out of this world (I’m running out of superlatives to describe our stay!). With Massi’s obvious influence they were all traditional Italian. Four amazing courses each night and only $20 USD per person. Worth so much more. I wholeheartedly recommend Zanzibar House as a perfect place to stay for a beach break. Suggest taking the taxi service offered on their site as we chose not to and our cab driver had difficulty locating it. With the help of a kind local on a motorbike however, we did. Thank you Massi and Miria.
We loved everything

Balcony so relaxing
So friendly to children, all local staff are so warm and geniue
On the beach or in the pool!
Beautiful interior
Not dislike, but we 2+2 kids did feel limited in the facing palm forest room. Next time we would check carefully the size and layout
Left early in the morning around 8, no-one said bye to us

A Swahili House as the owner describes it…stunning decor and very practical indeed. Very quiet all times, good location and a magnificent stretch of sand. Breakfast has all that you may desire

Beautiful little family run place, the perfect home from home feeling. They have lots of lovely small touches to add to the charm like an evening turn down service. It's such a warm, friendly place but with nothing pushy for tours/food etc. I loved it, have recommended to many friends already!

If you just want to relax, this is the place to be. Not much around but an amazing beach, nice chilled pool and good beach beds to spend the day. Friendly staff taking care of you and excursions if you want to.
The food was pretty good. We booked the place with breakfast and dinner included.
Breakfast was good even though some variety might have been great.
Dinner was great and substantial - 4 courses every night of great local/ Italian food.
The best of the restaurant is, Elena!! Great service and a great smile.
At the time there were some issues with the water supply but this was not something that would us no recommending the place.
As mentioned before: a bit more variety in breakfast offerings would be great.

Well run establishment, very personnal attention and service, this place has so many extras, at dawn they prep your room for you, fresh water available all day free of charge, chef is going xtra mile , etc... keep up the good job!

Everything is perfect in Zanzibar house. And I mean it. There are so many little details that makes you feel like at home. You feel most welcome. it is real paradise on earth. There are not enough words to describe it- go and feel I yourself. I was so amazed. The pictures don’t show the real beauty of this place.
I had booked it only for one night. It means, I need to come back❤️They should have 10 stars already❤️

Great with a choise of american stile and continental buffet. A real family run resort with only 7 rooms and no rush. You can walk straight from your bed in the morning and 50 meters, you are swimming in the Indian Ocean. So cool.
Nothing at all not to like.

A wonderful place and tranquil hideaway with respect for traditional architecture and the comforts of modern living. The staff is exceptionally sweet and caring and Maxi, the owner and his wife lives here themselves and they are doing their utmost to ensure a wonderful stay for all visitors and succeeding very much at this :-)
Chairs on the balcony to the rooms are a bit to upright for my taste, but the hanging chairs are super !

Absolutely great accommodation at the beach with very nice owner. They let me check in early with no extra cost. Great meals and services. Recommanded!

Location is bad, there are not shops, local transport or bar and restaurants
It is isolated and far from anything. The owner is very arrogant

I spent a total of 17 days in Zanzibar house on a solo vacation. I highly recommend this hotel. It’s a great place to relax and the location on the beach is just exquisite. The hospitality from the staff was fantastic, they were well mannered and catered to my needs. I was also moved by the kindness of Max and Mariam, they were very kind to me when I fell ill during my holiday. I can’t say enough of how much I enjoyed my time there.
