I liked how private it was. There’s minimal rooms so it allowed peace and quiet while also being family friendly environment. Also, they provide complimentary safety vests, toys, and kayaking/paddle boarding equipment which was a plus especially when traveling.
The only downside is that it isn’t close to the main downtown area of Tulum but not a far drive.

Stunning view - million dollar
Easy access to Beach
Food- 5 star taste, presentation n quality
Service-5 star- the staff is super helpful, welcoming n sweet. They are a keeper. From the front desk to servers to bellboys to cleaners, in short the entire staff is stellar
Room- can't be better
Not too far from all the hip spots
The only regret- roach spotted
Long story short- will be returning, recommending , though was tad bit pricey but with all the above no regrets
Few roaches
The door screen needs attention

The front desk staff was so friendly and accommodating. My husband has Parkinson's and could not walk up the 3 flights of stairs. Angela, was able to put us on the ground floor which made things so much easier for him and enjoyable for all of us. The free breakfast was amazing!
The food & drink prices were very high compared to others in the area. I wish you all offered the lunch menu for dinner. It was a much more rounded menu. The shrimp tacos were delicious!

The room had a beautiful view and was quite comfortable. The food was excellent.
We had two large leaks resulting in puddles on the floor. They couldn’t be repaired during our stay and the front desk refused to give us extra towels so we wouldn’t slip and fall.

I liked that the hotel offered paddle boarding and Kayak gear for free. I like that the provided us with complimentary water, beer and soda. I also liked that breakfast was included.
I didn’t like how the water wouldn’t stay hot and there were issues with our AC unit throughout our entire stay. Also, the customer service from the night crew in the kitchen was displeasing to say the least.

Friendly staff
Room decoration nice but sparse

The room was spacious and clean. The resort is small, just as expected. 2 swimming pools, plenty of sunbeds at the beach. Staff was friendly. Games and beach toys could be borrowed from the reception, kayaks were available for free. Beds were very comfortable. Very diverse guests, couples, families with kids, older couples all getting along nicely. Very nice vibe. Quality of the food was good. If you're looking for a small resort, this is the place to go.
The menu is limited, so after a few days it gets a bit boring. Despite it being a great place to stay at the moment, the resort seems to somehow be at a bit off a crossroads. From here it feels it could, with a little work, remain great, or if they're not careful it could slip and become dated and fatigued.

loved the location and the staff
for 4 stars the staff need to be more attentive. the reef has all been destroyed so not much to.look at now.

Location and staff were great
Power cut out 3 times over 3 days, shower water pressure was below average and at times trickled out of the shower. Beds were good but pillows were average at best. All in all, a good time just facilities need some work, especially for the price.

The food was good and the location was beautiful! It was great having a view of the ocean from our room

its beautiful, quiet and amazing staff! on the beach

the property is a small piece of paradise by the sea, baby friendly (with a playground on the beach) and very well decorated. The restaurant in the hotel and the free minibar are a real plus.
There are some stairs and no ramp which could be inconvenient for people with reduced mobility.

Beautiful sea views. Nicely decorated rooms of a comfortable size. Plenty of seating on the beach. Very nice complimentary breakfast. Excellent, friendly service.
Not a ton of closet or drawer space for storing clothes and belongings. Not the most walkable area.

The location is on a more of a residential road north of Tulum, with many boutique hotels and restaurants. It was a quiet location with amazing beach views and a Cenote across the street from it. The rooms, food, amenities and service were fabulous! A large prepared to order breakfast (included) is provided each day with the stay. The mini fridge is stocked each day with water, soft drinks and beer (included). There are two smaller pools available in addition to the beach. The staff went out of their way to help us in any way possible and to make sure that all of our needs were met. I will definitely stay here again when I am in the area.
The only real issues were the slipperiness of the ceramic tiles when it rained. There weren't any handrails on the open stairs or the pools. My husband has walking and balance issues, so no handrails were an issue.

The room was smelling awful like someone pee inside before.
Reception service was awfull except a smiling girl. We were trying to call the reception several times and after 5-6 every time we were calling at the restaurant to inform the reception to call us back.there is no service at the beach we had to go by our selfs to the restaurant to inform the waiter what we want to drink.
The pillows are like small sofa pillows-we asked but they never brought to us new ones.
The conclusion is that the hotel need urgently renovation as well changing or retraining the entire staff.
More likely a 3 star hotel.
We decided to split our 10 days stay in 2 different hotels in Tulum in 2 different areas.the first one was incredible experience, Mareva to other hand was one of the worst experiences ever.
I am really sorry but this is the sad truth.

The staff was so friendly and welcoming. They were very patient and accommodating when it came to our two young children, 6 & 4.
Everything truly was great!

staff and the room
the location

Mereva is a boutique hotel located 20 min from downtown Tulum. The decor, the staff, the vibe of the place is downright serene and peaceful. The calm lapping of the waves, peaceful instrumental music playing throughout the facility, rooms with private plunge pools and expansive view of the ocean were all a cathartic experience. The staff all the way from security at the gate, front desk personnel, cleaning and restaurant staff were a joy to be around. Francisco in particular, make the stay a memorable and enjoyable experience. They even accommodated our request of borrowing their snorkel gear to go visit the Gran Cenote and drop it back later in the day even though we had checked out earlier that day. I would go back in a heartbeat.
The cleanliness of the property is also inpeccable. They provide with clean up and turn down service with lavish breakfast that you can eat to your heart’s content both in the lobby restaurant or in your room!
The beach is average in all honesty. They do have a semi private beach with the adjoining property,
Cielo Maya, but it is small and average. No waves, muddy and has two piers that lead into the ocean but the bed is rocky and it was murky.
