Lovely, English charm

Impeccably clean & we'll appointed. The grounds were exceptional and the owner was friendly, knowledgeable & efficient . We highly recommend it. .

Very pleasant, very cosy.

A beautiful spotless home and owner who served up a fabulous breakfast each morning and made me feel very much at home. A very comfortable warm and quiet room.

Delightful comfortable three day stay in lovely surroundings with a friendly helpful host.

Breakfast was excellent and exceeded expectations. Host was friendly and helpful without being over-intrusive like others I have experienced. Location very convenient. Bed very comfy. Absolutely can recommend.

hot water bottle was provided-in a frosty night it was very useful.

duvet should have been king size and no sidetable one side. wardrobe was packed with spare hangers - impossible to hang our clothes there

Perfect!

The property itself is beautiful. The decor and furnishings are modern, yet it has a cottage feel with our room overlooking a perfectly manicured garden. The house is spotlessly clean and the owner, Viv, had thought of everything from bath robes, ample soft towels, coffee and tea making facilities including biscuits which were much appreciated after a night out in St Albans. The bed was super comfortable and the breakfast was plentiful and delicious. I am sure you can easily walk into St Albans but we were attending a function so we got a taxi which cost £5. We would definitely recommend this property.

On arrival Viv was so welcoming and helpful. My single room was perfect and had everything I needed. The whole house is spotlessly clean. Fortunately for me the room next door was unoccupied so I had the shared bathroom to myself. The bed was very comfortable and I slept extremely well. Breakfast was gorgeous and set me up for the day. St Albans is a lovely small city. I enjoyed the cafe culture, independent shops and the cathedral. I got a train to London Bridge and had a wonderful day out, including a river trip to Greenwich on an Uber boat. I recommend it. Having travelled from my daughter's perfect wedding in Essex my stay with Viv was the perfect chilled break I'd hoped for. I wholeheartedly recommend Ragged Hall Hotel and will be recommending it to everyone. I'll most definitely be back one day 😊

Relaxing stay and wouldn't look anywhere else when we return.

The location was perfect for our needs. Lovely quiet room overlooking a well maintained garden and patio area. The host Viv was very friendly and prepared a lovely cooked breakfast which we enjoyed alongside conversation. Very spacious open plan living kitchen dining area.

Absolutely nothing to fault. If I had to make one reservation it would be to say the bedroom was slightly smaller than what we would normally look for in that there wasn't space for a bedside cabinet at both sides of the bed. That didn't present a problem for sleeping though.

A very comfortable stay in a spotlessly clean guest house with a very friendly host.

The breakfast provided was very good. There was a good selection of breakfast items available and the cooked breakfast was very hot when served.

There wasn’t really anything major to complain about but it would have been nice to have a choice of white or brown toast. The bacon was a bit thin and therefore a bit hard when cooked. Minor details though.

Great place to stay.

Everything was perfect for our one night stay, including a beautifully clean room and en-suite. Breakfast was great, as was the host - nothing was too much trouble. The Property is about one and half miles from the city centre, so within walking distance, or there's a bus stop very close to the property. We would definitely stay again when next visiting St Albans.

Although the room was quite compact it was immaculate and spotless. Viv was very helpful and her omelettes are excellent! The location of the property is excellent.
