A beautiful old-style mansion house with safe on-site parking within walking distance of St Albans town centre. Friendly and accommodating management and staff. Excellent breakfast. Large and comfortable room in the main building.

Love the location. We stayed in the old part, very quirky but stylish too. We had two rooms, both of us had a great nights sleep in the comfortable beds. The breakfast was delicious served in a beautiful airy room with views of the lake and gardens. Loads of parking too.

The Staff at this Hotel could not be more helpful and nothing was in any way a problem to them. They went out of their way to make our stay very special. The Hotel grounds are lovely and our view from the Balcony was fabulous. The room was immaculate and extremely comfortable ..the bathroom just lovely. What a lovely experience and I hope to visit again in the future.

We had a warm welcome.
Our room was lovely, very comfortable and spacious.
Food in the restaurant was delicious. We were very well looked after, especially as it was our anniversary, by the young man and young lady who were serving.
Very good choices for breakfast.
Very peaceful setting.
A fairly short walk into the centre of town.
Very welcoming, friendly atmosphere.

Comfortable, characterful hotel in excellent location Friendly, helpful staff. Dined very well on both evenings. The large car park within easy walking distance of the town centre is a bonus.
We have no negative comments to offer. We hope to stay again later in the year.

The service in the restaurant was competent, and the food was outstanding.
The restaurant staff were a little inexperienced, but very polite and helpful.

Very good location and surroundings, also good parking on site.
Room was cold at first, but this was eventually helpfully fixed by staff

The hotel is situated in a really nice location, close to town. All of the staff were friendly with the hotel being clean and warm.
There wasn’t much to dislike, however we were in the Magnolia Master Suite which is directly above the eating area, so could hear what sounded like close up time or opening with chairs moving. It wasn’t much of a bother but noticeable.

The setting is lovely and the attentiveness of staff is just right. The room was spacious and comfortable. The evening meal was exceptional and as a vegetarian I was delighted.
The hand shower was very forceful and because I switched the tap the wrong way water went everywhere

Location was perfect for our plans, chosen by the friend we helped with transport. Receptionist gave helpful advice as we arrived too early for room access. Breakfast (full English or Continental selection) was generous and tasty. Position close for places of interest, food outlets and high street, and surprisingly quiet.
The bed was very wide for the room, but there was still space for two comfy seats, and one suitcase stand.
4.1
Friendly helpful staff.
Room was only clean enough, bathroom could have been cleaner.
