Beautiful views & setting. Friendly bar, waiting & cleaning staff.
Slightly average breakfast. Individual packets of coco pops & cornflakes are not my idea of a hotel breakfast. Some homemade granola or muesli, with Greek yoghurt would be much nicer.
Smashed avocado looked several days old, but given that it wasn’t actually on the menu I guess I shouldn’t complain. But maybe it should be on the menu?
Mouldy grout in shower. No bedside table/lamp.
No stool to sit at the dressing table in the bathroom (mirror set so low you needed to be either seated or kneeling to use it). Mattresses not that comfy. Topper would help.
No smile from woman on reception as we arrived. She looked so grumpy I actually asked her if everything was alright.

Amazing staff and really fun location. Breakfast options were really good! We had one of the larger apartment blocks to the left of the hotel with our own kitchen/living room. It was a really nice and secure weekend away with friends.
Nothing in our experience.

The food was delicious, and included in our price. Great selection.
Lovely views. Very friendly staff. Thank you

The location was fabulous. The view from the bedroom was into the gardens
We booked two bedrooms ad we were attending a wedding nearby. We asked to book in an hour before stated but was told the rooms weren’t ready unless we paid £15 each room . When we came back after the wedding, the bathroom was spotless, but the bedroom carpet had hair grips and What looked like dust on the floor and a few dead flies, so not sure why we couldn’t have checked in in the afternoon. It doesn’t make you want to return, which is a shame as we have family nearby. Our bedroom seems to be the only one not updated, the curtains were very creased and see through, and little things like pictures not in the centre of a wall, very old light pulls and spit lights, it was a lovely big room and could be very grand, my mother in laws room was lovely, ours was very dated. The bed was rock hard but that’s personal preference I prefer a softer mattress. We didn’t have breakfast as we had to leave early. The lady that showed us to our room in the evening was lovely.

lovely outside space
it wasn’t clean..hair on the floors and bathroom was dirty, toilet seat broken, it also had a mouldy smell

bedroom was newly decorated and was beautiful.
The curtains let too much light in, they were beautiful but maybe could put up a black out blind.

great location, great staff, great food
nothing

Beautiful building and surroundings. Lovely decor, friendly staff. tea/ coffee facilities in the room.
Cold room, freezing cold toilet/shower room, uncomfortable mattress, small sink & breakfast.

There’s really nothing I could say I didn’t like
4.1
the location was beautiful
the rooms are extremely tired & outdated
4.1
The steak
Extra items on our bill, poor check in experience, bunk beds in our bedroom, parking view from our cottage, outdated decor, noisy fan in bathroom, no bath...
4.1
Food portions were very generous, bedroom was a good size with stunning views, very clean.
The bed was rather small and the mattress was uncomfortable.

great location, staff, amazing, everyone of them from reception, housekeeping, bar and breakfast , couldn’t do enough for us,
nothing, there was maintenance going on but didn’t effect us .

The location is perfect, beautiful and scenic.
The beds were extremely uncomfortable, we moved rooms at first as one of us has mobility issues and the second room was a little bigger. The bathroom was not very clean and had some hair on the toilet seat and stains at the back of the pan.
The showers had pink soap stains from ages of sitting there.
The mattress was unbearable and we had no sleep. You could feel every wire, every spring. This is 2023 and surely the owners have heard of memory foam toppers!!
This was supposed to be a much needed relaxing restful night for someone who has the c word! A memorable night indeed just not the comfortable memory we wanted. The ladies toilets in the bar needed help! We ladies like more than a stall!!
The saving grace were the staff! Friendly, attentive, caring.

Very nice room. very spacious & light. Breakfast very good choice although it would have been nice to have some fresh fruit.
Hot breakfast very plentiful but only warm. Food put on cold plates. Hotel in lovely location.
food was very good but could have been hotter when served.

Great location, lovely comfortable room, friendly staff, beautiful breakfast what more could you want?!
4.1
the hotel is set within lovely surroundings and is a decent enough stay if you’re at a wedding for a reasonable cost.
breakfast is nice with a good choice
we booked a small comfort room so we weren’t expecting much in terms of size but the bed is quite small for 2 adults along with quite uncomfortable pillows, the shower is absolutely terrible and there was no mirror in the room.
I asked about the mirror, and was told the room had recently been decorated and it was on order but you would at least ensure something was in there for when guests arrived. I asked the staff in the morning and they did leave a full size in there so the issue was rectified.

A very pretty looking building with a wonderful location. A couple of the staff were incredibly friendly.
The bed was absolutely awful. the springs were sticking out the bed and it dipped in the middle. was awful.
At 7am the kitchen we’re playing Christmas music so, so loudly. we had to go and ask them to turn it down. I don’t get back to sleep once I’ve woken up (which obviously isn’t the hotels fault), but I had a wedding that day and to be awake at 7am after an awful nights sleep because of the bed already was horrid. the next morning they did the same thing! just slightly quieter. Just super inconsiderate.
the food was awful. first day there was no GF bread available and the second day there was no vegan butter. the mushrooms were watery and flavourless (only on the first morning) and the meal was so bland. they used sachets of brown sauce which is so wasteful and bad for the planet.
we had one roll of toilet roll for 3 days.
when we came in a member of staff was just sat eating and on her phone. didn’t make the effort to really come and help, but she was pleasant the rest of the time. but for staff to sit in reception and eat and play on their phone seems unprofessional. surely staff should have a place to relax and take time to eat away from customers.
the cleaner started cleaning at 830 the first morning and was banging around SO much. had we not have already been awake I’d have complained. the level of noise was insane.
we had a bath in the room which was great, but no stand up shower. which was fine, but other people may not like.
the window opened out onto a flat roof with a big drop, so any kids in the room would need to be watched. such a health and safety hazard.
no vegan milk in the room, biscuits weren’t vegan (which is fine bevause I’m in the minority) but we called and said we were vegan, so why they couldn’t have changed this is weird.
just overall, a really unprofessional and unpleasant stay.
