My first time ever staying at Hogwarts, absolutely magical!

Simon was best host he told all about the place, showed all .... Very kind person, thank you Simon.
Pool was working only till 5pm and booking.com shows 9pm, misspelling, also showing restaurant is there but its not. After I learned that all info is in there website, but I booked in booking.com where its shows none of the TRUE info. Water is not enough for larger families, no shower gel nothing like that. For the price paid, would be nice to have slippers and shower gel, shampoo, conditioner, moisturiser...... On top all that we wore asked to take rubbish to bin, what hotel will ask to take your rubbish and brig it to large bins?

Perfect location for exploring Loch Ness and it’s surrounds. Very short walking distance to amenities in town and the grounds were immaculate. The apartment was clean and spacious. Well equipped kitchen, excellent Wi-Fi connection and smart tv. Two excellent showers in the apartment and the pool was a fantastic addition to this facility.
The mattresses on the beds were a little on the soft side, although that could be just personal preference. Although the doors to all to the rooms were heavy to stop noise travelling throughout the apartment was great, it would have been handy to have a few door wedges to have the option to keep them open. The living space can feel a little dark and although there are plenty of lamps, perhaps brighter ceiling lights would help.
Very minor details.

The house was clean and the area is beautiful. Loved the pool and the gardens. Enjoyed watching the cricket. The beds were comfortable apart from the horrible pillows
Been before about 3.5 years ago and was very impressed. Unfortunately not so this time. Everything seemed in need of freshening up. Sofas extremely uncomfortable and saggy. Cushions were disgusting - all matted. Rug in living room and carpets in bedrooms also matted and worn. Bathrooms smelt bad but no way to air as no extractor fan. Unable to open window in 2nd bedroom. Pillows very flat, definitely need to be replaced.
When I booked was told we would have 2 large double beds but one quite a small double. Also told we would have a view over the cloister gardens but instead stuck in a passageway outside a fire exit with a view of a blank wall. When I booked, was told the address was 13 The Old School but when we got there, we were told we were in 5 The Brothers Wing. I did query this with the only member of staff we saw and was told I would have to take it up with whoever i booked through. Also told we would be provided with robes to use when going to the pool but had to pay for them.

no heating in hall ways, poor signage for waste disposal. a bit of trek to room but that what you expect from from a large property.

The apartment was stunning and had fantastic views of the Loch. The location is ideal and was a short walking distance to restaurants and pubs. The facilities had been limited due to the pandemic however we were able to access the pool facilities on a booking system.
I did not feel that we should have been charged for the pool facilities. My understanding is that pre-pandemic this was inclusive of the price paid. It was £20 for four of us to swim for 45 minutes and when 2 other families are also in the pool it means there is very little space to actually swim.

Warm friendly welcome and lots of information provided. Fantastic location at the head of the the Loch!

It was a lovely apartment in a 17th century fort, from the times of the Jacobite uprising, formerly a school and monastery, the buildings and location are stunning.

The property was very spacious for our family of six, it was very comfortable and very well situated in Fort Augustus. Everything was close to hand like shops, cafes, and the loch. We enjoyed our stay very much and would certainly recommend it.
What we didn’t like was for the amount of money we paid, we would have expected everything in the apartment to be in good working order. The toaster was only working properly on one side. The gas cooker had one of its burners not working, which made it quite difficult to cook at times.
We were not happy that the so called coffee table had a lose glass top which overhung and caused a nasty injury to one of my family, cutting him on the leg, so we were forced to remove it for the remainder of our stay, as that was a health and safety issue!

Beautiful location very helpful staff member on arrival
Very disappointed as nowhere did the literature say our apartment was in a 10 year old extension to the abbey. The communal areas were tatty and not clean when we arrived or cleaned when we were there and the accommodation was ok if I knew that is what we were getting and paid lot less. It was an extortionate price (just under £800 for 2 nights) which in order to get the location and what we thought was a lovely ‘olde worlde’ part of the Abbey, we accepted. The website ‘cleverly’ hides pictures of the modern extension and the description of our apartment very misleading. We were devastated at the amount we spent for what we got.

Location good for exploring the area and eating out.
Standard of maintenance. Smelly bathroom, mold on ceiling, leaking waste pipe, dishwasher facia coming off, no shaver point worked. Vacuum was unusable until hair ball was removed from vacuum pipe and filter cleaned Facility didn't have what was advertised e.g. music player, dvd player. Not up to hotel standards as advertised. Far too expensive. Staff rarely seen and unresponsive.

The location. The decor and cleanliness of The Scriptorium Garden apartment. It's a great size for two people. It has its own wee garden. It's just lovely.
The Scriptorium Garden is a lovely apartment which has exactly what you need. We both absolutely loved the apartment. Unfortunately, due to a bat in the bedroom on the third and fourth nights we slept on the floor and couch one night and Simon moved us to another apartment on the final night. He did say the apartment wasn't of the same standard. It was pretty grim though. We paid £243.75 a night. I wouldn't have paid £100 for that apartment. It didn't feel clean. Absolutely loved The Scriptorium Garden but I'm not sure we will return. It wasn't worth £975 due to the last two nights of our stay. Simon informed the agent of our issue once we left. Contacted Simon this week and the wee bat managed to get out which is good. Not sure how it got in as we didn't have any windows open but, apparently, they can squeeze through very small spaces.
