Amazing setting in the rainforest. Take Loki's advice and go white water rafting.
4x4 vehicles recommended for the drive up to (and from) the lodge. The road is rough and steep.

The canoe trip with Alex was fantastic and a highlight of our stay in Costa Rica. The hosts were pleasant and helpful.
The food was disappointing following what we read from previous reviews. The breakfast was poor and took over an hour and did not really cater effectively for special dietary needs. The evening meal uninspiring.

This place was the BEST part of our 3 week holiday to Costa Rica. My only regret was that i wish we could have stayed longer. It was simply Magical

Food was very good, location although not easy to get to, was very serene.
A few of the mentioned activities or services were not ideal or available when we checked in. Would recommend mentioning limitations of things based on season, or recommend calling ahead to book things like massages.

the tent was very comfortable and situated in a beautiful area, in front of a lake. we could hear animal sounds at night. nice eco-pool and toboggan. Food was amazing !
Thé activities were very expensive (70 dollars for 1hour of horse back riding). the place was not very easy to access by car.

If you’re someone who likes to get off the beaten path, especially if you’re a naturalist, Rafiki is excellent! There’s a great network of hiking and biking trails on protected land, a gorgeous dining deck view, and comfy tent cabins with decks and bathrooms.
Just like everywhere else, Rafiki is getting on its feet after zero tourism so they’re scaling up staffing. For me, it was quiet and peaceful due to less than full occupancy. It’s about an hour off the highway on a dirt road. I was a solo traveler and I felt safe.

This place is breathtaking! The gardens, scenery, surrounding hills snd jungle. The staff was friendly and helpful. We did a hike with an smazing guide Kenneth. He told us about the community history, plants and wildlife. We really enjoyed learning and experiencing the surrounding area. I'd go back AND while we were there we learned that they have a Rafiki Safari Beach Camp too so next visit we will do both.
