Breakfast had a little local speciality every day.
Honesty bar was a nice touch.
Near the main square.
Large terrace with seating loungers
Needed an extra mirror in the bedroom.
Stairs were fine for us but to be noted if you have mobility issues.

Posizione centrale e tranquilla, accoglienza e relax, ottima colazione in giardino.

We stayed in 10 hotels/b&b’s during our time in Sicily and many were lovely but La Casa Del Gelsomino stood out from the crowd. The room & bathroom were nice sizes and very comfortable. We had a little balcony with 2 chairs and a table overlooking the garden & pool and city view. Breakfast was delicious with many home made and local made treats. Giovanna goes out of her way to be helpful. The garden is lovely & relaxing. The pool an absolute delight. We didn’t have time to use the hot tub. Easy walking from the B&B to anywhere. Highly recommend.
(Our GPS did not properly direct us to the property so I’ll include here that you need to drive on what looks like a pedestrian street through the main town square under a tunnel and follow the street around a curve one block up. It is really easy but didn’t seem so the first time we did it. )

Giovanna, the host, was very welcoming and has gone out of her way to make our stay perfect. The breakfast were delicious (in particular homemade deserts!) and the view from the garden stunning. This is a type of the place and host, where you want to come back over and over again:)

The breakfast was amazing. Plentiful, followed by a dessert of coffee granita with brioche. Our room was small but had a little balcony which was nice. This lodging had a wonderful garden area that was beautiful with a hot tub and massaging stone pool. We had a very relaxing afternoon in the garden.

We stayed here as part of our honeymoon and it was absolutely fantastic. The main highlight for us was how friendly, helpful and accommodating Joanna was. She was always happy to have a chat and offer local advice and made up feel very welcome and fed us very well with lots of delicious local food at breakfast which was always brilliant. Aside from this, the view from the garden is great and the plunge pool area is very fun to relax in. The whole garden has been beautifully thought out with lots of lovely plants. The hot tub is pretty cool too. We also very much enjoyed the family of tortoises! Location also excellent. Wonderfully situated in Ragusa Ibla.

Lovely room with ceiling fan and a/c. Excellent outside space for the location- perfect for relaxing after walking around. Relaxed and warm welcome and breakfast from Giovanna who was also very helpful with parking!
nothing (but the driving/ parking could be horrible in peak season.)

Carmela and her sister, Giovanna are wonderful hosts – very helpful, caring, and extremely thoughtful. They have thought of everything to make your stay both comfortable and memorable. We loved the beautiful soaking pool and the entire outdoor setting. After spending the day walking and visiting sites, it was so relaxing to spend time in the water. The breakfasts are exceptional and without a doubt the best we had our entire three weeks circling Sicily. Warm, local ricotta cheese, local cheeses and meats along with freshly bakes breads, fruits, and sweet baked goods and just when you feel like you can’t eat another bite, “a little dessert” arrives….one morning, several special cakes and another morning a traditional sweet bun accompanied with a chocolate granita. Be sure to have Carmela arrange a tour of the palace for you…it was an added treat, especially since the young man who walks you through actually grew up in it.
Loved everything....parking was a bit of a hassle but that's just what to expect when staying in historical parts of very special towns.

Giovanna and Carmela were excellent hosts. Great conversation, local knowledge and the breakfast! There’s an option for both sweet and savoury, both excellent.
They were kind enough to meet us a little further outside of the centre to help us locate the hotel as we struggled with parking and signage!
They immediately let us view a larger room upon arrival, so I would request this if you’re travelling heavy or need space.
When arriving you’ll wonder where the pool/garden area is, it’s secretly tucked away. Once you find it, it’s such a relaxing space contrasting to the busy Ragusa streets. You can spend hours lounging in the shallow pool, jacuzzi, sun loungers or hammocks.
What a place to stay if spending a few nights in Ragusa Ibla.
The rooms felt a little small, but it doesn’t really matter. You shouldn’t be spending your time in them really!

Had a fantastic stay at Casa del Gelsomino. Carmela was an excellent host, she made us an extremely tasty three-course sicilian breakfast every morning which kept us going for most of the day! She also provided personalised recommendations and places to visit. The property is in a very central location in Ragusa, within a few minutes walking of all the main sites. Carmela provided easy to follow instructions on where to park our car for free nearby. The room was clean, bed large and comfy, good air con. There is a beautiful garden outside with a hot-tub, hammocks, pool perfect for relaxing in with a beautiful view of the nearby hilly countryside.
N/a, had a great time and would highly recommend.

Giovanna was an excellent hostess. She went out of her way to make us comfortable. She quickly satisfied every request we made, even going to the Tourist Information Office for us. Her breakfasts are amazing - you will leave the table ready to burst as she won't take no for an answer :-) So get ready for some weight loss strategies when you return home! The garden is really pretty with an amazing view. The house is 5 minutes away on foot from the main sights. Giovanna also recommended an excellent restaurant for our last night. We shall definitely be back. Grazie Giovanna :-)

This was one of our most MEMORABLE, RELAXING, BEAUTIFUL stays in Sicily.
We booked last minute but were quickly given clear instructions for check-in and how to park our car. This is always tricky in tourist towns but we had no problem finding free street parking during our stay.
NOW FOR THE GOOD STUFF! The location of La Casa del Gelsomino is perfect for discovering both Ragusa and Ragusa Ibla. Once your car is parked, everything is within walking distance. Our room faced the street but noise was not a concern. The room was lovely and the bathroom was very well equipped. Rooms in the back would have a lovely view of the valley behind.
But the real draw of this quaint hotel is the garden, terrace and pool area. This looks across a valley and the back of the homes of the city. It is a paradise in the midst of a busy tourist area - so much so that we ordered dinner in, two nights in a row to eat in the garden. So much thought has gone into planning each area - from the gardens filled with flowering plants, cactus and fruit trees, to the lovely breakfast and lounge areas, the hot tub for soaking tired bones, the hammocks for stargazing, and of course, the spa pool. You can't even imagine! It's beyond beautiful!
And then there is breakfast! Such planning and care has gone into ensuring guests experience the regional foods - meats, cheeses, savoury and sweet breads, and don't forget to save room for "breakfast dessert"! Giovanna is a lovely host who speaks wonderful English which was very helpful for us. She made suggestions for touring the town and the region in general. We wish her good health, much happiness and the continued success of La Casa del Gelsomino! Hopefully we'll meet again. GRAZIE MILLE, GIOVANNA!

Giovanna and Carmela are incredibly helpful. The two-level garden is a gorgeous place to relax with a beautiful view. Breakfasts are delicious and huge. And the location is perfect, right near the Duomo. They even have Netflix in all the rooms.

La Casa Del Gelsomino is in a great location, a 2 minute walk from the main Piazza and Duomi in Ragusa Ibla. It is a house built on a hillside on several levels and includes a lovely garden (with jacuzzi and an amazing view) with a paddling /cooling off pool below. The garden in full sun in the morning and we had breakfast there. The latter included a lovely choice of Sicilian meats and cheeses, jams and breads and a special Sicilian coffee ice. We had a king size room which was very comfortable and perfect for a one or two night stay to visit Regusa and enjoy their great restaurants. Our host was very helpful and accomodating and we thoroughly enjoyed our stay.
