Personnel peu souriant.

Family owned and operated. Very attentive and knowledgeable of the area. A very pleasant stay with a BEAUTIFUL view.
Narrow and steep entrance.

Staff was accommodating, friendly and warm. Knowledge about the island and attractions. Stephan went out of his way to ensure our vacation was one to remember. Lina was fun, funny, warm and friendly.
Facility was clean.

Our stay at Mango Island Lodges left us refreshed, serene, and ready to get back to real life. Mango Island is not a conventional hotel - it is a beautiful, lovingly built home Stéphane and Karine graciously share with the rest of the world. Each room is unique, with whimsical touches and beautiful art work, yet not skimping on creature comforts like a hair dryer or the means to make a good cup of tea. The infinity pool offers views of the sun setting over the Caribbean, plus the chance to cool weary muscles after a long day of island hiking. The food in the restaurant is the best we’ve had on Dominica, served with a smile by Lina, who also mixed up a perfect rum punch and Mango Colada. My husband and I know our way around Dominica, but we heard Stéphane and Karine recommend tours to other guests, tailored to their individual needs and interests. They really, really want their lodgers to gave the best possible experience during their stay on Dominica, and they are willing to put in every bit of extra time and effort this may take. Mango Island Lodges is friendly, yet professional. It’s a home away from home that also feels very special - a tricky balance to achieve, but Stephane and Karine have found it. We will definitely be back.
Nothing. Really.

I throughly enjoy the property. My only regret is that I didn’t spend enough time exploring it.

Impeccable service. Great food onsite. do not look any further.
Quite pricey. Distant from anything: could be positive and negative.

We returned for a second time as our last stay was perfect. And once again, we had the best stay during our entire trip.
The room has everything you need. Very spacious and clean. Very good and big bed, well functioning AC, very nice shower, etc... Only good things!
Also both the owners, Stephan and Carine, are so helpful. We had a bit of a medical issue and they immidiatly helped us.
Also the food is the best you can have on the island! Both of them are very good cooks!
The swimming pool/jacuzzi is a big benifit to cool down and relax.
The lodges are situated on the Carribean side of Dominica (best side), and from here it is possible to drive to the highlights (Roseau Valley, beaches, snorkling spots, small cities,...) of Dominica all within 1hour.
Highly recommend to stay here and enjoy the hospitality of the owners and staff and visit Dominica!
Beside the fact that you require a SUV 4x4/AWD to get to their paradise, there is nothing to mention.
Nevertheless you really require a SUV 4x4/AWD to visit the island! So it is not an issue to get to the place.

Beautiful room (Mango room) with the best bed we had on Dominica. We received a room upgrade as that one was available. The hosts and staff do everything in their power to make your stay a relaxing one. All are very friendly and helpful. We even received a small phone to take with us and to give them a call in case of troubles or questions.
Nice view from the swimmingpool/jacuzzi as well.
And the food... Amazing and very tasteful! Something you will not find somewhere else.
Wifi is available in the entire hotel/lodge.
The way up is a bit steep, I don't know if it is possible with every rental car, but a small SUV (4x4/AWD) is perfectly capable of doing the climb. And it is nevertheless recommended to have one on the island ;-)

Fabulous views from the lodge and from the swimming pool. Excellent food cooked from local produce. Good teamwork with a local taxi driver Kurban, and tours could be booked through the hotel. We used local buses which were frequent and could be caught at the bottom of the drive, an experience to be recommended.
The steep hill, but this is Dominica and it is hilly! On the plus side, our fitness levels improved by the end of the week, and we began to enjoy the challenge.

This is really a delightful property which Karine and Stephan have poured themselves into, and it really shows. Our room was really tastefully decorated and designed, with small touches that made it very comfortable. The overall atmosphere at the lodge is really intimate, this property has less than 10 rooms, and so we found ourselves wandering into the restaurant in the evenings and mornings and likely to be making friends with the other guests. All of the meals that we enjoyed at the lodge were excellent, the menu provided good variety and everything tasted fresh and was artfully prepared. Try one of the homemade sorbets for desert! The views from the restaurant and pool are great, and the grounds are fantastic, with a lot of care put into creating a peaceful atmosphere. All of the staff were engaging and helpful. We are a mid-fifties professional couple traveling from the U.S. We spent a week in Calibishie in the northeast, and then spent four nights at Mango Island, which location provides really good location to all of the activities in the central and southern parts of Dominica. Mero Beach is a nice local beach with good amenities. Mero can get crowded on days when a cruise ship is on island, so on those days we went to Salisbury Beach, which is not visited by cruise ships, and it was beautiful there, thanks for the good tip Karine. Thank you so much for the hospitality Karine and Stephane and staff!
As others have mentioned, the short road up to the hotel is rough and extremely steep, but we got the hang of it, and our we never had to engage the 4X4 on our rental car.

Stefan, Kerine and their staff could not have been kinder, friendlier or more helpful. Each day they gave us directions to new spots and ideas of what to do. The care they have put into looking after their property and to looking after their guests could not have been greater. We had a terrific stay and hope, very much to return.
We liked everything about Mango Island Lodges.
