The location, the facility and the willingness of the owners to help and solve problems.

The old quinta is a true gem and the apartment felt very homely, with all the neat and well selected decoration, the nice wooden floors and the harmonic ambience. Beautiful views and a lush garden, also a great location to explore all parts of the island, the best spots for hot volcanic baths are also very close! We stayed with a four year old and a little baby and would say its a perfect spot to travel with your family and will definitely recommend this place to our friends.
The red apartment was a little bit difficult to find at first, somehow didn't realize from the pictures it was on the upper level.

This was our second time staying at Caso do Pico Arde. It is a wonderful spot, the accommodation (white villa) is very comfortable and well-equipped, the pool and garden are beautiful. The location is excellent.
The place is perfect. But it is a lot more expensive to stay here in August 2023 than it was the first time we stayed (in July 2019).

We loved the owners warm welcome with a lovely basket in the apartment and other surprises the next days.
The pool area was very well taken care of and our little terrace was very pleasant when I wasn’t expecting any. Communication was easy and the location is perfect wether you want to surf or visit the island.
It did get a little bit noisy from our neighbours late arrival but next day was fine.

The apartment is on a farm in Ribeira Grande. It’s centrally located and so easy to get to various locations on the island. It was quiet.
The owner wasn’t present when we arrived, and we never saw them on the property. We communicated we needed a late check-in because our flight arrived at 9pm. We never received a code to unlock the box holding the keys, which another guest was kind enough to tell us about after we stumbled about knocking on doors at the main house. The farm was dark and we had no idea where our apartment was. I was able to contact the owner by phone who directed us to where the apartment was located and he gave us the code. We needed the flashlight app to access the box and open the door. The apartment is completely windowless, encased in a wood structure with a large barn door. since the sliding glass door didn’t lock we needed to keep the barn doors shut making it feel like being in a bunker. The next day my husband spotted a camera mounted high on the wall near the sliding glass door to view the main room, kitchen, and hallway. This was discovered after I walked in my underwear to the kitchen, so it felt creepy! My husband was able to put a towel over the lens so we could get through our stay, but next time I would choose somewhere else in Ribeira Grande. By the way, another guest arrived the day after us and they had the same struggle trying to locate their apartment.

Very close to town (walking distance actually), yet feels rural and private. Loved that this was an historic home still owned and operated by the family.

Nice two story apartment, very well decorated. The owner was very helpful and allowed us to use the grill. Kitchen was a little akward being hidden behind the cabinets.
No mosquito nets so you have to keep the windows closed, which was a big drawback for us :(

Central location and feels like a home.
There is lots of equipment and tools so that you will not miss something.
Sleeping couch has passed its lifetime and is not really comfortable anymore -> should be renewed

We had an awesome time in the Casa do Pico Arde. The location is great and the host provided us with a welcoming basket, self-made cake and a bottle of wine one day. It was clean, the pool is a nice add-on and for us nothing was missing. We definitely want to stay there again one day!

The apartment was very cute and well contained
The bed was too hard for me and my husband.

The property is really nice, a mix of old and new buildings.
As we were 4 people in the white house, two of slept on the couch which was quite uncomfortable. Also, there must be some issue with the drain in front of house, as it smelled badly and made it almost impossible to use the outside sitting area.

My stay in Casa Do Pico Arde has exceeded all expectations! House with history, but inside like a boutique hotel with excellent conditions! And what an unforgettable view of the mountains and the ocean from the window and the beautiful old garden! But the most beautiful is the owners, such hospitable and warm people! Welcome basket, fruits and pastries - this is such a small compliment that says a lot about home owners! It was too cold when I arrived, and Gaby lent her jacket to me! I have a feeling that I came home to my mother or grandmother as in my childhood! I just left, but I already want to return! Thank you very very much for Gaby and her husband, my impression of Azores will always be associated with you and your warm house! ❤️

Comfortable apartment. Looked much bigger than 45 sqm. We received a welcome basket. Enjoyed the tranquility. Good starting point for hiking, go to seaside and mainly good for those who tend to escape the tourists in Ponta Delgada. Very authentic farmer village at a central point at the island.
Easy to hear the neighbors as the walls are tinner.

Location is very good to drive/explore the wohle island
Window is a little defect and the wind is blowing loud and strongly. Should be repaired

the location was great and the views were amazing. it had a pool, which we didn’t use, but also easy access to the town but far enough away you didn’t feel you were in the town.
The layout was also great. ideal for 2.
The mattress was very firm and I like a fork bed.
The kitchen utensils could have been slightly larger. We struggled to cook meals for two.

Everything was amazing during our stay. Waking up in the middle of the green brought a lot of tranquility to our stay. we were received with a basket with typical products from Açores and we even had a delicious cake during our stay. The house was super clean which gave a lot of comfort. To come back on the next visit and recommend to all friends. Thank you :)

We had the apartment with the mountain view and its very own terrace. The 2 views ( inner garden and mountain ) were very nice and the apartment provided everything we needed for our 7 days stay in Sao Miguel. It was very nice that upon our arrival they had a nice gift basket prepared for us. The location is great to visit the whole island and after a day of exploring you can cool down by the pool.
