fabulous breakfast, lovely friendly owners, very clean & gorgeous views.
it may sound really silly but I’m a heavy sleeper, however underneath the bottom sheets the mattress protector sheet that was on it, was quite literally the most annoying sheet I have ever slept on 😄🙈 every time one of us moved it squeaked so annoyingly that we constantly kept waking each other up 😵💫 (I am normally comatosed when I sleep) so it was quite frustrating especially for 2 nights broken sleep 🥴 tv could do with being higher too as it is too low for the bed especially to watch lying down. shower surprisingly loud.

Our second visit to this wonderful hotel in beautiful North Devon. Mark and Desi are lovely. We love the area. Woody bay and Valley of the rocks are well worth a visit! Make sure you have good walking shoes!! Lynton and Lynmouth are close by about 10 minutes drive, really lovely.
4.7
A lovely location and an impressive and nicely restored house, comfy rooms, beautiful views and nice gardens to enjoy. Friendly hosts. Close to a lovely steam train station with a nice tiny woodland walk.
No recycling or other signs of environmental sustainability.

Our hostess was quite happy for us to have a picnic watching the sun go down over Woody Bay
Seating area in our room, just a bench!!
4.7
The Hosts are very friendly and very keen to make sure you have everything you need during the stay.
The breakfast is great with lots of choice.
I really enjoyed spending time sitting in the lovely garden in the evenings. The views are wonderful.
My only minor issue is that my room had no mirror on the dressing table and so i had to sit on the floor to dry my hair.

Welcoming, advising us places of interest, restaurants, lovely hotel, kind & professional hosts, overall a good stay!
All ok!

I stayed in one of two self-catering apartments attached to the Moorlands Hotel. I was free to come and go as I pleased to enjoy the beautiful surroundings of Exmoor. The apartment was comfortable and the kitchen facilities excellent.
4.7
Spacious, clean and comfortable, in extensive beautiful grounds
Better electric light (for reading) in the lounge in the evening
4.7
A warm welcome and we were given a choice of room on arrival so could not have been more satisfied.
Excellent breakfast.
Perfect location for short stay on Exmoor, easy to access and therefore to travel to places of interest.
There was nothing that could have suited his better

The hosts were very kind and helpful. The spacious accommodation was traditional but very well maintained and immaculately clean. Lovely house in beautiful surroundings.
4.7
A fantastic location with lovely grounds. Tables and chairs outside for guests use on nice days and evenings.
The Hosts very helpful, welcoming and friendly.
We booked a family room. The 2 children had a separate room with twin beds.
Beds very comfortable and we all slept very well.
Rooms serviced daily and all very clean.
The Lounge has something for everyone. Games, books and newspapers for the guests use.
Breakfast was superb with a great choice of cooked or continental offerings.
We didnt dislike anything at all.
Only suggestion would be maybe a small fridge in the rooms would be useful. Would be great to be able to keep drinks cold.

Fantastic location - absolutely beautiful grounds, scenery and views from room window- our hosts were wonderful, so kind and welcoming and accommodation was brilliant and a really comfy bed! - breakfast was fabulous and the refreshments and complimentary pot of Jam in our room really appreciated - and even a steam train at the bottom of the fairytale garden - what more is there to like! Outstanding - so relaxing - would recommend this venue to anyone and all ages 🤗💞🦋💐 xx

Pleasant setting and very welcoming.
Room had a strange smell particularly in en-suite, en-suite needs an extractor fan. Furniture a bit tired and room needs air conditioning or a fan provided.
4.7
Quiet, great location, comfortable room, clean, good breakfast, great hosts
The shower was never more than lukewarm at best
4.7
Easy to find. Ample parking. Quiet location in countryside, next door to the heritage train station. Hotel has been refurbished to a high standard. The couple who run it are great, very welcoming and helpful.
4.7
Excellent breakfast ( optional extra) . Host and his wife were very friendly and helpful. The hotel grounds were very spacious including a direct path to the historic railway next door.
Small shower. Bed mattress was past it's best.
4.7
Quiet location, but not too far away from beaches etc. Very handy for the heritage train station - it's at the end of the garden! Superb breakfast and room cleaning.
Hosts very friendly but not intrusive - just right!
A bit far away from shops if you need to buy food etc. If you're having self contained, best to come stocked up.
4.7
The breakfasts were beautifully presented and cooked individually to the guest specification.
The bed was comfortable and room cosy and clean. The surrounding gardens were delightful, with plenty of seating to enjoy them when the weather allowed.
4.7
Excellent breakfast
