Very cool dining and social area. The place LOOKED great.
The family running the place was super nice. Really sweet and helpful.
After a trek through the Andes, I sure wanted a hot shower and cold beer. Water was Luke warm at best. The mini fridge with the beer wasn’t plugged in. Really cold at night. No bath mat. Outlet in shabby condition; not even close to flush against the wall. Wood stove was nice while we were awake, but when we woke up in the mother of the night cold and was cold in the morning…not good.

The room was very big if a bit cold. The lobby/communal area had tea, cosy chairs and a fire to keep warm. The staff were really friendly. Breakfast was enormous!
The room was quite cold and the bathroom very damp
3.9
Staff was super friendly! Rooms had heaters (wood burning or electronic) to keep you warm. Breakfast was HUGE and dinner was delicious. There was free drinking water available as well.
There was mold in a lot of areas. The sheets had some stains. There were times where there was no running water.

Great place to stay for a visit of the lagoon.
People are really nice and friendly and helpful.
Great breakfast
Great location near the lagoon
Price quality is good
Rooms are basic, but this is normal for the location as you are at 4000 in the mountains

Booked 2 nights, but spent only one there. The cleanness of the bathroom was improvable. No hot water at all. Cold water only between 6pm and 9pm and between 6am and 8pm (theoretically due to a water problem in the village but other places were having water without restrictions). The dinner and breakfast is improvable with respect to other places in the Quilotoa loop. Not really worth the money, totally overpriced for what is offered. I couldn't recommend it and wouldn't come back.

Super friendly and helpful staff, also with food allergies+vegetarian. Good good and loads of it!
Location is literally 5min walk from the bus stop, 2min from shops/centre and 5min from the quilotoa Crater lake.
They were super easy with turning the stove on whenever you wanted, as its very cold.
Shower was stinky, so i asked them for help. They wanted to give me different room but as i had already unpacked i didnt want that and just asked if they could clean it, but i think they forgot. As they were super helpful with everything else!
There were barely any tourists (april 2023) so it was a lil lonely sometimes

Fireplace in the room, nice staff
Hot water isn't really hot
Rooms on the ground floor can be noisy in the evening and even in the night
Cleaniness can be improved, to find hair in the shower wasn't nice

The hosteria and the rooms are beautiful, spacious and comfortable. Dinner and breakfast were delicious. We recommend this place 100%.

I was looking for somewhere to relax with a welcoming environment and that is just what I found! The staff were lovely and made me feel at home, and the rooms were very cozy and spacious.

The mattresses they have are very comfortable and there is free drinking water.
The food was absolutely horrible.
For dinner we got 1 small cup of tea; chicken broth with half a potato; a plate with a small, very dry piece of chicken (scrambled egg if you're a vegetarian), some fries, rice and 2 bites of salad. We already ate something at a restaurant before, but it was definitely not enough if you'd just came from a hike and it was tasteless.
When arriving I told them I'm a vegetarian, explicitly mentioning that I also don't eat chicken/fish; then later someone from the staff asked us again if we had any diet wishes, so I told them again that I'm a vegetarian, mentioning again that it means no chicken/fish. This was absolutely no problem and they'll arrange something. Then when the soup was served I asked again if it was vegetarian, and asked if there was chicken in it; the guy assured me it was vegetarian and there was no chicken in it. However, it turned out to be chicken broth. I called the guy and told him there was chicken in it, on which he first told me there wasn't, when I showed him the pieces of chicken in my soup he shrugged his shoulders and told me it was 'just a little bit' before removing my plate and then walked away without saying anything. Imagine telling them you have a severe allergy and they'll handle your food like this....
Breakfast consists of some fruit, yoghurt with grains and bread. It was fine, but nothing different from the kind of breakfast you get at even the cheapest hostels in Ecuador.
We booked the deluxe room for 70 USD per night (including taxes). However there was really nothing special about the room. It was ice cold during the night, without any option to heat the room; the 'warm shower' didn't work properly (even counting in low expectations because of the remote area); there were no hooks or anything to put on your coat and the towels they gave us smelled horrible (like old sweat).

its in a middle of nowhere:) good food!!!
no hot water. i couldn’t take a shower. it was very cold to sleep. We didnt want to make a fire as it gives me a headache. if you are ok with that go for it.

The bed is really good, large and with nice warm beddings. The staff is also very nice and helpful.

Not only is this hostería beautiful, but I love the charm of a small family business and the local quirks. When the woman came in to start our fire, she had with her her two small sons. They were so precious and clearly appreciated their work so much. Thank you for having us!

By far the best sleep we had in 3 weeks in Ecuador! The beds were amazingly comfortable and cozy and the rooms were so quiet. Showers were nice and hot, breakfast was filling. It was a great home base for us to do a few day hikes in Quilotoa. Not to mention the owners were unbelievably friendly and kind. Would definitely recommend!

The people were just so, so kind. They fed us dinner when it was a quiet Sunday night and when I had severe altitude poisoning they brought me coca tea in bed. Breakfast was delicious and they were flexible on when so my friends could hike down to the crater. Again, the hospitality was really the shining star of this hotel.
Linens could have been cleaned more thoroughly, some walls were in need of paint but otherwise it was nice.
3.9
Hotel staff was very pleasant.
Be sure to choose a room with fireplace, else it could get pretty cold. Water not running at night.
