Highly recommend

The host are very nice and helpful. I had a late bus from Quito and arrived late at 9, Victor came to pick me up and they still cooked me a very nice dinner. Victor also provided me with very helpful information about Quilotoa loop. The room itself is also a nice one.

Idealne miejsce na rozpoczęcie trekingu do Quilatoa, pięknie usytuowane z cudownym widokiem na dolinę, bardzo sympatyczni i pomocni właściciele ,bardzo dobre jedzenie i co najważniejsze w końcu się dobrze wyspałem :)

Perfect place to start our hike

Beautiful location with incredible view, friendly and helpful manager. Cozy dining room and sitting room when the heaters were turned on, and a nice fireplace.

Quality of construction was on the “rustic” side... Would have been helpful to have signs indicating “Starlight Inn” in town, as it’s easy to miss the turn-off to get to the property.

Amazing view, friendly staff, nice basic hostal

The staff is really friendly and the home cooked food was nice. The view is amazing and the hostal itself is cute.

It is cozy but don't expect a lot of comfort in the rooms. It's all self built, which is impressive but be prepared to see some wooden boards nailed to the ceiling and doors that don't close properly

Exceptional

Starlight Inn is the ideal place to start the Quilotoa hike. Located just outside Sigchos the hostel provides excellent vistas of the surrounding countryside and is as charming during the sunset as it is at dawn. Billiard, board games, and a llama all included!

Great place for starting the Quilotoa-Hike

The owner was very welcoming and caring and provided us with a tasty and fulfilling dinner and breakfast. I had this hostel as the starting point for the 3-day Quilotoa hike. I especially liked that the owner doublechecked on my planned route. If you're lucky with the weather, you have a great scenery from there as well as a good outlook on the first part of the trip.

Some potential drawbacks are the showers and the language barrier. The showers were barely warm, which might be uncomfortable for some people. The owner also doesn't speak English, which might make communication difficult for some guests

I am a solo female traveler and was nervous about doing the quilatoa loop. victor gave me great information and the trek was wonderful. I really liked waking up in the morning to the beautiful views of illiniza Norte y sur covered with fresh snow. A delicious leisurely breakfast and huge lunch was prepared while other travelers were riding the bus from latacunga. I highly recommend hikers to stash their bags in latacunga and take an afternoon bus to Starlight hostel.

This property is being developed., every stay should see improvements.

Lovely cosy place to stay before you start your hike

Really comfortable and clean place. They have super warm heaters in the social areas for the evenings. Dinner and breakfast is included and is a great. They tailored breakfast to the time we requested. Really friendly staff. Lovely place and great value.

Simple but perfect for what you need before you start the Q loop. Yummy dinner and hearty breakfast. Beautiful views.

Victor (the manager) was awesome. He and his wife really look after you. He was ready and waiting when I arrived in the town and very kindly drove me to the Inn. The view from the Inn is spectacular and conveniently located near the trail head. The Inn has all the creature comforts one needs and is really good value. The meals were very tasty and filling

An awesome place for starting the Quilotoa Loop hike

Very caring host, he waited for us till we finally made it in the middle of the night. Next morning he prepared an amazing breakfast. I love his little ideas around the hostel: e.g. bottle trick for closing the doors.

A great, beautiful place to start the quilotoa loop!

The host, Victor, was so helpful and patient with my questions. The bed was comfortable, the setting was gorgeous. Also the food!!! There Was so much of it and it kept coming. This was the best food I've eaten on this trip so far.

The shower is electric water heater, so it's not very warm, but it's fine for a quick shower.

Everything was super nice. The people were lovely and very helpful. A super authentic and feeling like home place. I felt very welcome and relaxing. Would love to go back!

Good location, great staff, beware the mattress.

Location was right next to the start of the Sigchos to Islinlivi hiking trail. Dinner and breakfast were included and the meals were tasty.

The mattress in our room was thicker on one side than the other and also had a dent that made it feel like one of us was sleeping in a hole and the other of us was sleeping on a slant.

The hospitality of the owners was amazing. Clean and comfortable. It’s simple but has everything you might need for the perfect location to start the Quilotoa trek.

Great spot to start the hike

Great breakfast! Good Wifi too :) Nice view on the mountains, away from the village. Comfy beds, also hammocks!

The dinner wasn't the best but breakfast made up for it. We also had to wait 15 mins for the owner to come back and welcome us... Bad timing I guess.

We’ll be back!

Víctor and his wife were incredibly kind and helpful. the food was delicious, we got to practice our Spanish and we met their new puppy. they also have a llama named Rocky who made the view of the valley even better. Victor was super helpful in driving us to Cerro Azul for our trip to Tangan. All in all, great place to start the Quilatoa trek over Latacunga.

Great space to eat and hang out. Beautiful lawn area. Quiet at night.

Perfect place to stay to start your hike to quilitoa as its right on the path. Great view from the garden. Breakfast and dinner were great as well as the packed lunch.

Super friendly local hostel, perfect to start the quilotoa loop tour! Loved our short stay

such a nice and helpful stuff, they made us the best breakfast and lunch box. The couple also showed us the way to quilotoa and was in general really friendly.
