Facilities was nice
Under staffed. No standards for a 4 star resort. Had to wait for checkin extra 2 hours. Got a room at 8pm. Staff seemed a bit racist towards jaffna people

Good location. Staff are friendly, and trying their best to help. Staff need some direction and clear tasks allocation rather than running around headless!
My room had a sewage smell. I informed the reception who promised to clean the re-room. That never happened. No apology given. The dinner took nearly 3 hours as it took 1 hour from appetiser to the soup (which is their standard items on the menu- not something we pre-ordered). Quality of the food was poor. We had fish, apparently meat was better. Pool area could be cleaner. There were no towels. Very few sun beds given the size of the property.

Big pool, wide selection at dinner time.
Live singers at restaurant come and serenade you whether you like it or not and then expect a tip.
We did a safaris tour we booked through hotel. However when we got there they failed to mention that payment at the safari was in cash only and as we were 5 we didn’t take 50,000 RS with us so had to scramble around for money and ask other tourist to convert our £s for us. The staff at the hotel should have told us this at the time. When we mentioned it to the hotel staff explaining it has been very stressful they didn’t apologise.

The hotel located in a large amount of trees, feels like live in a forest
Air conditioner is too lousy to sleep well

The setting was very nice
Staff seemed to be very uninformed. I was charged for driver accommodation without it being explicitly clear from the start. Driver also wasn’t informed when he checked in. They found him afterwards. Not impressed

From the moment I checked in, I knew this jungle experience was going to be amazing. The beautiful layout of the resort, the spaces, structures, landscaping, the welcome from front of house and the gardeners as you walked the grounds. A perfect stay for exploring the wonders of Sigiria.
The pool was cool and long to swim lazy laps with the beautiful trees laying shade. The deck area was a treat to read your book under the shade of big umbrella's and sip on resort special cocktails.
The rooms, were huge, modern and comfortable, with gorgeous artwork, super comfortable beds, large bathroom, hot water, hair dryer and toiletries, plus the TV had English channels.
The food was absolutely delicious, the staff catered very well for International travellers and I felt very spoilt for choices and flavours.
There was a Sri Lankan family with many children, the parents just let them run wild. The tranquility was lost, until I found my headphones.

I had to go to the hospital because I was bitten by a dog and the staff couldn't have been more helpful. Someone came with me and made sure I was treated correctly. Big thanks to them!! Also the resort itself is very picturesque, the food is really good at the restaurant and very close to all the main sights. Staff helped us very well.
Bit of rocky road to get there and watch out when running outside the resort with the dogs (not Amaaras fault though)

Family of 4 (x2 kids age 3/7) stayed for 4 nights in Apr 22. Deluxe family room was clean, spacious and nicely decorated. Pool was great and felt very relaxing amongst the trees. The staff were excellent and the food really was outstanding (we were 1/2 board). Great location for Sigiriya, Pollonnaruwa, Dambulla Cave Temple & Minneriya National Park. Fully recommend this hotel.

Good location, nice unit villa to stay. Staff friendly
Road access not fit for purpose. Dirt track with many pot holes. Borderline safe depending on vehicle used to travel to hotel.
3 out of the 5 staying at the hotel in this booking got food poisoning after having dinner at the restaurant. Although raised with reception staff at checkout. They did not compensate us for the trouble.

Luxurious resort. very kind and helpful staff. Large comfortable rooms. lots to see and do nearby, the hotel helped us arrange this. even saw wild elephants nearby!we only stayed one night but wish we’d booked more.
don’t leave your clothes outside to dry- the monkeys will steal and shred them. we learned the hard way not to do this again! but otherwise nothing else we didn’t like, great resort and would definitely stay again.

Peaceful location, ideal for someone really want to enjoy relaxation in a forestry environment. Highly professional staff, from manager to cleaners/gardeners and they all are deserved due credits for their services. Managers Ravi Perera and Thusitha Bandara deserved special thanks for their kind hospitality. You also can enjoy authentic Sri Lankan food and fresh fruits. Strongly recommended for both foreign and local travelers.
