Lovely staff couldn’t be more welcoming especially the gent at breakfast who went above and beyond to make our experience even better, beds comfy, room size nice. Breakfast delicious
Needs redecorating and a deep clean of carpets and upholstery lots of dust in the room

Had a great stay at the Menai, our host Matt Was so friendly and welcoming , as were the other staff there.
We were in easy walking distance of the university and their are plenty of shops and bars in the surrounding area to keep you entertained,
The hotel has its own bar which we took advantage of and hade a great night , not too busy and loud but not empty either, just right 👍🍺
3.3

The corridor carpets need replacing,

Staff were lovely. Hotel is basic but clean and very good value for money. We all slept really well and the breakfast was great.
Mixer shower was difficult to work!
3.3
Staff was friendly and accommodated our much loved pet dog
Big room
Bar had plenty of choices for drinks
Students were lovely and welcoming
Rooms were to hot and had no fans
Mattress was lumpy and very uncomfortable
Breakfast was bland and rushed
Beer garden didn't seem to have any life in it Just tarmac Could of done with some grass and flowers.
We wanted a sea view and never got this The view was at the back of the hotel over looking residents gardens and roofs
3.3
Style of the room and welcoming staff
And people
Shower was either too hot or cold. Not enough water pressure
Room was hot therefore open windows but downstairs noise didn’t help

Not a lot. An individual staff member did come in early to provide a continental breakfast, so that we could leave in time to catch the ferry. It’s in a good location for a walk to the pier or into town but that wasn’t really enough to restore our faith in the hotel itself.
The pictures provided make it look much better than it is. In reality it’s a worn out property that needs considerable investment to bring it back to its former glory. The room was clean and the beds comfortable but the bathroom was a disaster. The shower was useless but worst still there was no hot water, which was reported on arrival but the situation was still the same the following morning.

传统的英式早餐,非常满意
第二天退房有点早了建议能再推迟半小时就完美了。

Beautiful room with Brand new furniture and carpet.
Large and clean shower room.
None.

Entrance full of bags at the door making it difficult basically a hostel accommodation not hotel / B&B will never be back despite using Holyhead 6 times per year

Breakfast was good, ordered night before. Lovely and set out in the morning.
Very peaceful and spacious room
Very friendly staff.
Could have been a little cleaner in the corridors. Slightly tired decor

Excellent location, great price, friendly staff, clean room

Nothing really
Pretty much everything. The room was infested with bed bugs and when reported, the staff response was as if it is a normal thing, APPALLING! The staff is not polite except for Chris who checked us in. My son found a foreign body in his juice glass during breakfast and the response was, this happens. I was lost for words.
We could hardly take a shower due to very low water pressure. The toilet was just as bad.
Had to relocate to another hotel.

The Menai is always a reliable place to stay. On each occasion I have stayed, the room has been spacious with all the necessary facilities. The windows are large, letting in plenty of light and, in certain rooms, amazing views. You can also ask to borrow an iron if needed. The staff are attentive at key moments (e.g. check-in and breakfast) but otherwise stay out of the way.
The true joy of the Menai, however, is the free breakfast. They provide you with a form to fill out the night before specifying what you want from a multitude of cooked and continental options, from fruit, cheese, and croissants to bacon, eggs, and toast. The eggs are always perfect — lovely bright, runny yolks. 10/10 would recommend.
The Menai is an older building, which shows in some of the décor and can look slightly grubby/worn in places but, for my needs, it's perfectly fine. The shower is probably the biggest let down — the water pressure is terrible and it takes many attempts to find a good water temperature due to the time it takes to warm up/cool down.

Breakfast, room
No evening meals available due to staff sickness

Location near town / station. Friendly staff. Full breakfast. Tea and coffee in room. Comfortable bed.
Property badly maintained. Old and dirty carpets. Old, cheap and stained furniture. Stale, unsavoury smell. Ancient bathroom facilities with broken towel rail.
3.3
I actually liked the Menai Hotel and bar, And felt that it had a Good atmosphere. I thought the staff were Great really, as in so many cases, And the breakfast was very Good Quite honestly the furniture left a lot to be desired, but it was all very functional, and everything seemed to work. I found the bed very comfortable. It all left me with a very good impression, and I may well visit again if I'm back in Bangor.
3.3
Free wifi. Decent parking. Friendly staff.
Rooms dirty and tatty. Bed very hard. Windows dirty. Shower was absolutely useless. Tiles loose in bathroom. Carpets worn. Small breakfast. Cold beans. Loud machine/pipe noises at night. No proper sleep.
3.3
Breakfast was fine, though ordinary.
Top floor room with pleasing view North over the Menai strait and the other window gave a view of the mountains to the South West.
No extract fan in the bathroom and the bathroom heater did not work.
Curtains too small and not thick enough. Bedroom filled with light at daybreak.
3.3
Lovely location with great views across the Menai Straight
Comfortable and clean room
Simple well cooked food
Polite and friendly staff
Good additional activities - pool table, darts, music, TV screens.
Shower was good temperature however was a slow trickle and meant standing in the plug hole.

The staff were amazing
The hot water system struggled on the third floor

The location was perfect. The room was a good size.
THERE WAS A LOUD LIVE BAND PLAYING UNTIL MIDNIGHT!!! What on earth?? No warning of this, didn’t sleep a wink, was so annoyed and disappointed by this!
Hotel was a bit tatty and smelly, not like the photos. My children enjoyed their breakfast.
3.3
The options in breakfast.
The cost of single room is too much and it didn't meet my expectations
