Die Lage und Ausstattung

2 bedrooms. Big dining area with kitchen.
There’s a sauna in the property and there must be a ventilation problem because we found black molds on the walls opposite the sauna and in the living room on the other side of that wall. That makes the place smell musty. The place is on the first floor so we didn’t feel safe keeping the windows open at night for ventilation so we closed the bedroom doors hoping we didn’t breathe in a lot of that moldy air. We didn’t use the sauna.

Exceptional location. Great communication with host. Spotlessly clean. Very good facilities with some of the smallest requirements catered for. Its proximity to the old town makes it Ideal for dipping into the Altstadt, returning for a break and heading out again

Location good
Absolutely horrible directions to the property. The property address shown on the confirmation shows a large 4 story building in front of the property per Google maps. The property is located on a different street, Gaustrasse, behind the large building. The owner's directions state; "next to the fountain you can see the terrace of our house." First, the "fountain" is walled off due to construction. Secondly, it is impossible to see the "terrace to our house" until you are almost opposite the house on Gaustrasse, a street that runs to the right side of the large building. That is about 200+ feet from the fountain. Google shows the house almost opposite #69 Gaustrasse and the Niko Niko Tei Japanese restaurant. I've been renting apartments in Europe of more than 15 years and have never been misled by lousy directions and have never been given a wrong address. Also, there is a very faded paper behind a plant taped to the door frame that has the name of the apartment, almost impossible to read in the dim lighting. Suggest the owner put a small readable sign on each door, or is that prohibited in Mainz? Also, the key locker is so close to the ground that one has to kneel to get to the box. Also the combination lock numbers point up when in fact they must be set by looking directly at the number pad, again you have to get on your knees to see them. Also, there is a small button to the left of the number pad that needs to be pulled down to open the box. I had to help another renter get into her key box because of the problems. Overall I would suggest that travelers find another apartment. There is no need for this kind of aggravation.

A huge apartment, spacious and clean, excellent location and great restaurants and cafe nearby. Very kind and responsive staff.
Could have included a few basics in the kitchen such as cooking oil and milk. greatly appreciated the coffee!

Great location in old town. Good facilities. In a characterful building/complex. We were whatsapped with photos and detailed instructions on how to get the key and get in.
Nothing major but could hear trams going past. Historic building so smallish windows in the apartment we were in - again not really a major problem for us.

It was exceptional. The host was so welcoming and the location of the apartment was just awesome. It was so clean, well maintained, warm with all the amenities and I would say it was way more worth than the money I paid. I would definitely love to visit again in the future:)
Everything was just awesome. Nothing to dislike.

Location, size, huge bathroom, very helpful staff. The apartment is very secure with an iron grill outside and a strong main door that seems to triple lock. The windows also have bars (ornamental) on them. Not that you need them as the area seems very safe. We walked to and from restaurants and came back in the dark. You are right on top of Schillerplatz with lots of transportation (trams and buses) and Mainz main railway station is about 10 to 12 minutes walk. Supermarkets and restaurants are all a short walk away.
Not a major problem but the building does reverberate every time a tram goes past the window and they run early in the morning and late at night.
Could do with thicker and wider curtains in the bedroom. Can imagine the sun would wake you up early on a summer's day.

Amazing location, beautiful and huge apartment. Couldn't be better.
Nothing, but because we always want to write something: It was well stated, but be aware that the parking costs extra. Which is completely reasonable, because it is a very safe and nice parking space in a prime location.

very nice apartment; excellent location for walking, proximity to Freiburg; perfect countryside/village setting. Wonderful views from both sides of the apartment. The host provided a bottle of the wine from the vineyard, which was a nice gesture. Drinking some of it upon arrival on the terrace looking out on the vines was a very pleasing end to the day! The hosts were friendly and helpful.
internet was very slow

We stayed in the "Berlin" suite, which was spacious, clean, and well-equipped for our family of 4; it was like a home away from home. The location is tough to beat, right in the center of Mainz off Schillerplatz. The host was super friendly and responsive. Each room had a fan, which can be quite important during the summer months! We are glad that the place was available and would certainly recommend it!
The curtains were a bit small for the windows, though this would only be a problem for light sleepers in the summer. The wifi worked only in a portion of the apartment, again not really a big issue. The price for parking at the property seemed a bit too high. Sometimes the stairwell smelled strongly of cigarette smoke, but the room itself was fine!

The apartment was spacious and very cleaned. Suélen was an amazing hostess, very professional, sympathetic and gave all the information necessary. The location is perfect, near the old town and the train station. The kitchen has everything that you need and the Wi-Fi worked perfectly.

When I booked I actually thought it’s managed by my friend Marco; then found it’s different team. Very good and thoughtful people.
Clean and nice location. I have always stayed in Osteiner Hof.
No lift; if you have bags then be careful.
