Lovely place with amazing staff but it was noisy in the mornings

We had a lovely stay at Gili Matiki, the staff are very friendly and welcoming. The breakfast is delicious and also served with fresh fruit. The pool was good and surrounded by lovely plants. The rooms are a good size, beds are comfy and rooms are cleaned, beds made everyday. The outdoor bathroom was nice. Our toiletries did become very warm when left in the outside bathroom which made some of ours dry up, so maybe best to bring them inside.

We wore earplugs every night but still we were woken up every morning, due to banging, shouting etc. I'm not sure if it is just where our room was situated (opposite the sun loungers). The walls are thin and the noise did affect our stay, that is the only thing if not it would have been perfect.

Such as pleasant stay!

Quite a jewel on the island. We have been to Gili Air many times and this was by far the best one. The owners and managers are great and loved their vibe. Will surely send our friends there!

Rauhallinen ja turvallinen bungalow pienellä paratiisisaarella

Henkilökunta oli erittäin ystävällistä ja avuliasta. Sijainti oli erittäin rauhallinen. Hotellin pihapiiri tuntui viihtyisältä ja turvalliselta myös lapsen kanssa oleiluun. Kokonaisuutena mielettömän ihana bungalow. Aluksi taivasalla oleva WC ja gekot herätti meissä pientä kulttuurishokkia, mutta se ei vaikuttanut viihtyvyyteen mitenkään.

Schöne Anlage, Zimmer roch modrig und feucht

Unser zweiter Aufenthalt für 4 Nächte im Gili Matiki war mit Spannung erwartet worden, nachdem wir im Vorjahr eine fantastische Zeit dort verbracht hatten. Wie zuvor wurden wir auch dieses Mal herzlich begrüßt; die Mitarbeiter waren durchwegs freundlich, herzlich und sehr bemüht, was einen sofort willkommen fühlen lässt.

Leider entsprach die Unterkunft dieses Mal nicht unseren Erwartungen. Der modrige und feuchte Geruch in unserem Bungalow war überwältigend. Nachts wurde ich wach, weil der Geruch so schlimm war. Trotz unseres Wunsches nach einem Zimmerwechsel war dies aufgrund der vollen Belegung der Unterkunft nicht möglich. Auch unser erneuter Versuch, die Situation zu ändern, blieb erfolglos, bis uns am letzten Tag ein Wechsel angeboten wurde – zu diesem Zeitpunkt war es für uns jedoch zu spät für eine Umquartierung. Eventuell lag es daran, dass es viel regnete und wäre die Situation anders gewesen, wären wir außerhalb der Regenzeit da gewesen. Das können wir nicht beurteilen. Zusätzlich war die ständige Pfütze von Kondenswasser der Klimaanlage vor dem WC ein nervig, da man jedes Mal im Nassen stand, wenn man die Toilette benutzen musste. Trotz der ansprechenden Anlage und des freundlichen Personals würden wir aufgrund dieser Erfahrungen leider nicht erneut dort buchen. Es tut uns sehr leid, denn unsere erste Erfahrung dort war durchaus positiv.

Muito boa, vale a pena.

Muito boa a hospedagem, no centro da ilha, equipe atenciosa, lugar é bem cuidado, piscina muito boa.

Algo muito comum nas hospedagens são os banheiros descobertos, embora a sensação seja muito boa de usar, mas em dias de chuva ou de muito calor pode ser ruim. Eu gostei, mas tinha momentos que não eram bons. Isso não diminuiu a experiência na hospedagem.

such a nice oasis on the island

One of the best hotels we stayed at during our 2 weeks Indonesia trip! We stayed at another hotel in Gili Air before and we change to this one we had no idea that there was such a nice oasis on the island. We wish we stayed here longer! The location is great and quiet. The pools is beautiful. We got our laundry done with the hotel as well. The breakfast is excellent, The entire vibe there was just great, super modern and comfortable. Our room was also very spacious, with nice interior and very clean.

Perfect :)

Everything about this hotel is amazing. Staff, breakfast, pool, location, room, price. Great value for money. Definitely consider staying here if you are travelling to Gili Air!!

If I had to pick one thing I would say that the bed was slightly too hard. This would be only qualm and they really aren’t that bad.

Staff were great and so was breakfast-

the villas are a bit worn out - first villa bathroom would flood around the toilet- bed very creaky and mattress old. And a rat or bat poo on the bed. Changed to another room - bit fresher but AC turns on and off and beeps - fan without cover. The owner would do well to update and invest into property. For the island we paid $100 AUD a night and had much better stays for that price.

we couldn’t fault Gili Matiki! from the minute we arrived we were welcomed by the lovely staff & our rooms were gorgeous! we had a wonderful stay & the breakfast was delicious!

The only thing we didn’t like was the fact we had to leave!!

Such a lovely place! very green, cozy, super clean. I really liked the design of the whole place. so many details to make the stay super comfortable: they got hats, beach bags and sarongs in the room; they also provide umbrellas and torches. Everything is very well thought out 👌 the price is reasonable according to the place and it’s location 🙏 The staff works perfectly, very friendly atmosphere. I will definitely stay here again and recommend this place

Wonderful place

When you arrived you get a cold tower and a cold just as a welcome. The staff explain you the map and they re favorite place. They also help you for rent a bike and organise your snorkel trip. The resort is just a wonderful place 🥰 we can feel the owner touch. I recommended it ! My best place in Indonesia so far...

Such a nice hotel, a welcome drink when you arrive with a fresh towel, the bungalow are super clean and nice, wonderful outside shower, The staff is super helpful and make a very good breakfast. We can feel that the owner is putting here heart in it.

Best place in Gili Air!

We stayed here for 10 days, on our honeymoon, and we felt like home. The staff of Gili Matiki were the nicest cutest people I ever met! Almost like family! This place is a peaceful haven, very clean and full of trees and flowers, big beautiful pool, the rooms are spacious, the bed is confortable and huge, the outdoor bathroom is... Well I want one for my house :) And they have the BEST pancakes I ever had for breakfast <3 North side beach (calmer than the others) is a 5 minute walk away. Best warung (local eatery) in Gili Air just 2 minutes away.
