We appreciated the to/fro transportation service by the staff. We made a very last minute booking and the staff responded to our queries promptly, thank you! Shout out to Olivia and Justin :) They have english-speaking staff on site so not to worry about the language barrier.
They served mainly American breakfast when I was there. Ambience/vibe-wise, if you're looking for a more local / Japanese experience, this might not be the best place as it seems to be catered more for Gaikokuki-jins.
Onsen amenity was basic but served its purpose. There's only a sink in the room - you'll have to go out of the room to use the shared toilet / shared onsen. There's a washing machine for complimentary use (dryer at extra cost). There's a mini drying rack in the room.
Shoes to be removed at the entrance. NO LIFTS so you'll have to carry your luggage up a flight of stairs.
Went in late-December - the lodge felt warm and toasty (could go around in shorts) so not to worry about the cold.
Happo-One slope is just right across the street (is right outside the window) but I suppose that's for intermediate / advance levels. You'll probably have to walk 10-15 mins (if in ski boots) to the beginner slopes.
**For dinner around Hakuba in general, please ensure to make reservation ahead of time. It's HARD to find a place during dinner time, especially in the cold.
The lodge seems a little dated but otherwise was a comfortable place to stay in. Can get a little noisy from 7pm - 9pm at the common areas.

The staff are so amazing and friendly. Always happy to help when we had any questions. The lodge is also located very conveniently to the ski slopes and food restaurants. It is also easy access to shuttle buses to the other ski resorts in Hakuba.

Close proximity to ski hire and lifts. Pick up shuttle was super handy. Staff extremely friendly. Breakfast was perfect way to start of full day of skiing.

The property is close to lifts, restaurants, and all rental shops. It has its own onsen and the staff are amazing and the breakfast provided onsite is fantastic. The staff are always able to help with any issues and advice on the area.

We couldn't fault Asuka! The staff, breakfast, onsen, ski-in ski-out location, free bus transfers, everything was great. Couldn't recommend it enough if you're after a shared living experience :)

The staff is amazing and breakfast is delicious. Great location near the slopes.
This time our room was very small but it still worked well for us.

Clean, accomodating, excellent breakfast which is included!
Only negative thing is that it is at the top of a hill so the walk home from the slopes was a bit of a treck

Asuka Lodge is in a great location. You can literally walk across the road and access one of the chair lifts in Happo One.
Or you can walk a bit further and board/ski down to the ticket office and gondola.
Walk about 400 meters down the road and you come to the bus stop that takes you to Hakuba 47 and Goryu.
The rooms are clean, warm and quite spacious.
The hot breakfast every morning was good and is complimented with toast, cereal and fruit so you're always full to take on a full day of snowboarding/skiing.
However, what makes Asuka Lodge outstanding is the wonderful staff.
They go out of their way to make you welcome and make your stay enjoyable.
All staff spoke English very well and I had no issues with communication.
I would definitely stay at Asuka Lodge again if I come back to Hukuba.

Great location just 5 min up from Happo-one Gondola and also not far from Sakka beginner's lift. Breakfast is simple but very tasty and made with care to each guest individually. Lounge is super comfortable and you can have breakfast at the sofa there while watching Netflix. Dry room is available to store snow equipment. And the staff is very caring and tries to understand the needs of every guest, thanks to Ya-chan for taking us to the train station!
Female public bath is out of service as of March 2022 which means that the male bath is also used by females in allocated time slots. However, that is not a problem as they have a more private shower room available 24/7.

Perfect location: 4 min walk from the Happone Gondola, rental shops, cafes/restaurants. Amazing hospitality with flexible pick-up/drop offs from Happo Bus Terminal/ Onsens. Cozy lounge/ bar/ rooms. Very comfortable bed. Yummy and huge breakfast:)
It’d be great if the room windows had screens/shutter/curtains to block the sunlight in the early morning.

The staff is very friendly and knowledgeable about what to do around town and slopes to take. Also, being picked up by a staff member at the bus stop as opposed to taking a taxi was amazing.
The breakfast is tasty and having facilities to store ski equipment and onsen to warm up was convenient.
It would be nice to have disposable toothbrushes like most Japanese hotels.

The lodge was very close to skiing slopes, food places and spacious area with home like amenities.

Ideal location (ski-in, ski-out), comfortable and clean, wonderful staff, great breakfast.
Shared bathrooms are sometimes a little annoying, but sinks in each room make it super easy for everything else!
