The staff was so kind and recommended places to visit and eat. Besides was able to open the door late at night

Staff was super nice! They help you out with everything. There is also a nice chill area where you can meet other travelers.
There is no hot water. The shared room also doesn’t have a roof that completely covers the top so the cold easily comes in.

The hostel is located in the town center, a 10min walk from the bus terminal. The lady who runs the place is very friendly and helpful.
This was my least favorite hostel in 4 months. Here is why:
-the bunk beds are very unstable. You can't move in bed without waking up the other person.
-the walls are open towards the ceiling. This provides more ventilation, but lets in a lot of street noise. I used my ear plugs for the first time.
-you sleep under a metal roof. The rain (frequent) can be very loud.
-The kitchen didn't have a fridge. Leftover fruits or food attracted a lot of flies.
-I didn't find the doorm room and bathroom particularly clean.
I don't know if the private rooms are better, but I wouldn't recommend the dorm.

The location was 5 minutes near the bus stop and right next to anything that you might need food, water, beer, at
, shopping, ice cream ect…
My girlfriend didn’t like the pillows

Super comfortable, and the owners are exceedingly wonderful. Special shout-out to Álvaro, who helped translate for me when I had to go to the hospital.
Location is a little far from the center of town, but still good overall.

Staff were very friendly
The kitchen was badly equipped, they didn't have many utensils and the ones they did have looked unclean. The fan in our bedroom didn't work and it is very hot in Tena. Our bedroom window didn't lock, it was held together by a tiny piece of metal that you could lift from the outside so we didn't feel like our belongings were very safe.

The host family
The pillows were hard

Great family run hostal who goes above and beyond to help out. Good common areas to meet fellow tourists. There is a range of affordable activities at your doorstep which the family is very willing to assist.
There are not enough lockers but it’s super safe so not a huge issue

Very good location to the centre of Tena, helpful and present staff who gave us recommendations, let us store our bags and were just very sweet and patient with our awful Spanish. Simple facilities, colourful decor and comfortable beds.

No better place in Tena ! Marcia (the owner) is wonderful, so caring, funny and helpful. The hostel is close to shops, mercados and to the bus terminal, but very quiet at the same time. Very friendly vibes and the sweet dogs will make you stay there longer (after stealing your place on the hammock and your heart ;) haha kitchen, rooftop, clean space, comfortable beds, grill.. Amenities are all very good and the space is big. Many activities around Tena, beautiful waterfalls and swimming spots to visit. Muchísimas gracias Marcia 😊
Only a fridge is missing in the communal kitchen but Marcia will be very happy to let you use hers if you need it :)

It was clean, spacious and offered great views of the surrounding foliage.
There was an obscure sewage smell emanating from outside nearby that was rather unpleasant and came in waves.

Zumag Sisa has a warm, welcoming atmosphere. It is a cosy place, ideal for backpackers, and you get to meet friends and fellow travelers while staying there. Location is great, the staff is attending to your needs, advice is given on activities around Tena. The Hostel offers value for money, and its people offer help on your journey in many ways. If I am back in Tena, I'd stay there again.

This is a follow up on a continued review. My stay was very relaxing. Macia was awesome in advising me where to go and how to get there.... She really enjoyed helping me and it shows how she likes her work with her guest's.

I travel all the time and this review is based on value for what I paid... I actually stayed two additional nights and it was great. Macia is very friendly and welcoming, she helped me with what to do and how to get there. The shower is cold but it was okay for me as i have done this before. It has no AC but again not needed at night with the fan it's quite cool and it's just not used in the area.

Exceptional staff and nice atmosphere. The lady hosting was very kind and helpful and her daughter graciously translated for me. The room was nice, clean and the common areas comfortable and relaxing. It was a good location.
I have no complaints
