We had an outstanding experience at Uros Samaraña Uta Lodge. Lucy and César are great hosts. They arranged everything for us (transport from the port, taxi to the airport and a beautiful trip to Taquile). Additionally, César showed us around his community (included) and taught us everything about life on the floating islands. We were even able to ride a traditional boat. They are very attentive and Lucy’s food (full board) is so delicious. The rooms are spacious and nicely decorated, we especially loved our sun bed on our terrace facing the lake. The kingsize bed is huge and there are enough blankets to stay warm at night (it can get quite cold). They provide hot water bottles for the night. We would recommend everyone to stay for at least two (better three) nights to enjoy the beauty of their place and support a local family.
The gas “heating” is actually a patio heater (for outdoor use only), so we didn’t use it while sleeping (we were a bit afraid of carbon monoxide). In the morning there wasn’t water until 9 or 10 a.m. probably due to the subzero temperatures at night, but we showered in the afternoon, so that was okay (then there is also hot water). Using a compost toilet was a bit strange at first, but remember: you’re staying on a floating island!

This was a truly unique stay in the middle of Lake Titicaca. We enjoyed how personal it felt and that everything, including the local tours were included with our lodging. Truly a once in a lifetime experience !

The room was exactly as pictured and we had a fantastic experience with Cesar and his family. He really cares about his guests. Our last day we had to leave very early to catch our bus (4am). He arranged with his colleague in town who is a taxi driver to reserve the bus tickets. He then took us by boat in the middle of the night to the dock where the taxi driver took us to the bus station, got the tickets for us, then walked us with our luggage and put us on the bus to make sure we caught the right one. Cesar also texted us later to make sure everything was OK. We really appreciate when hosts go above and beyond. We also appreciated that everything was included - wonderful meals, drinking water in the rooms, a boat tour of the islands, etc. Beds were very comfortable and we had plenty of blankets, pillows, etc. We also enjoyed staying with a local family. We encourage other tourists to support the hardworking people of the Uros Islands by choosing to stay in their hotels. Cesar and others are working very hard to provide for their community, provide children with a good education, and protect their islands.
The dry toilet issue that some people have complained about was resolved in our room. It had a lid and we had no issues. However, we did have some small spiders in our room and at times we didn't have running water even to wash our hands. The other issue is the propane tank heating in the room does cause a bit of a headache. We understand it's an island stay and we also stayed in the winter time when it's very cold for water to run through the pipes. I think the most important thing is that travelers have the correct expectations when they go to the Uros Islands and know that electricity, showers, etc. are very limited although Cesar has done a very good job with solar panels and making things as comfortable as possible.

The place and surroundings are very special and absolutely beautiful! It was also great to learn about the islands, local lifestyle and Aymara culture

Cesar and his family went above and beyond to provide us the best experience at his place and his Comunity. They were so many things we got that we did not know were included like the tour to visit some locals and experience their way of living, also a detail explanation of how the island are build and how they live there. The facilities were gorgeous and comfortable. Dinner was amazing, so fresh so good. We had an increíble difficult checkout time and he brought us back when we needed. I would highly recommend someone to have this Puno experience at their place. At night the stars are absolutely amazing, I never seen a sky like it.

We loved, loved our stay at Uros Samarana Uta Lodge. Cesar and Lucy were the best hosts. They took care of every little detail during our stay - right from warm, cosy beds to a great tour of the Uros islands and fantastic home-cooked food. The property is very well-maintained and beautiful, and we had a relaxed and wonderful vacation here.
There’s nothing that I did not like!

Of course, the most attractive thing is the stay on the floating island itself, but in this case it is rich in all-round care provided by the owner of the house, who, within all the available possibilities, had created on the island maximal available comfort for the visitors, such as can be achieved on a place completely isolated from the normal urban infrastructure . . In combination with the interest of the owner to show to the "island visitors" all securities of life on the reed islands, together with sailing on both standard and reed boats and excellent cuisine offered by the landlady, will provide a source of great memories for all visitors.
Thank you, Cesar and Lucy!

- Very comfortable and spacious room with lovely view. Great heater at night and hot water bottles!
- Attentive host who organised taxis for us and took us on a tour of his community and took us fishing on his Tortora boat. The host took us to visit the reed island of another family, where he gave a demonstration and explanation of the reed islands with models. This part was amazing, and he answered all our questions.
- Meals were delicious and very filling, you will feel spoiled for sure!
- The only downside was the tour of the local community which felt a bit like a tourist trap. We had 30 minutes of ‘free time’ where a woman who lives on the island ushered us to visit her house and try on traditional clothing, then took us to visit her shop. There were 4 travellers on our tour and we all felt quite uncomfortable as she pressured us to purchase from her shop while we were wearing her clothing (you feel guilty if you don’t buy anything). When we expressed interest in a ‘handmade’ blanket, she offered an exorbitant price of s/150 (the identical blanket can be found for s/65 at any souvenir shop in Puno) and then followed us quite aggressively around her island when we said that we no longer wanted to buy it. She said that it took her 1 month to make the blanket by hand (which was very likely mass produced off the island) which we thought was dishonest.
For such a pricey lodge, we were surprised that we were taken to buy overpriced souvenirs, which is a common practice for cheap day tours to the Uros.

Are you must remember that you are staying on a floating island
It was a very unique experience to stay with a Uros family.
Only one small detail could be improved upon you could not have a cup of coffee until 8:30 AM
A small complaint considering how wonderful the rest of the stay was

Cesar and Lucy were very welcoming. We appreciated how much they invested to ensure we had a wonderful time. It was a perfect way to see Uros and gain insight from a local family. Muchas gracias!

The stay at the lodge was amazing and very interesting. Cesar is an excellent host, showed us his community and told us very interesting things about their lifestyle. Additionally, the food was excellent! The rooms are also super nice and clean.

One of the most unique place we have ever stayed. Tough to beat a glass-walled room on a floating reed island in Lake Titicaca, hosted by an indigenous family that was eager to show us their heritage and traditions. What an experience!. And the food was good! We were picked up by the owner in his boat at the local warf, and spent two nights on their private island, with tours to the local sites, including neighbors, the school, church, shops. A wonderful experience.

We enjoyed everything in the lodge. The views were awesome 👌, specially the sunshine. The meals were very good.

Everything, great host, great location and fantastic setup. Food was amazing too

Incredible hotel, accommodations, location, and phenomenal service. The hotel owner Cesar is incredibly hardworking and attentive to all his guests. Everything in the hotel handmade by Cesar and his wife (which you will learn about when Cesar takes you on a private tour of the Uros islands.) The rooms are extremely beautiful and no expense is spared to make sure your room is comfortable (most comfortable beds, warm heater in room, warm water in shower) perfect experience.
Nothing, everything was perfect.

the view on the lake is amazing, it’s really nice to stay in Uros and meet the community
there’s not much to do if you arrive in the morning, I would suggest to organize some daytime activities beforehand (like visiting amantani) and then get to the accomodation in the afternoon before sunset to enjoy the view

A fantastic place to visit! Cesar and Lucy were excellent hosts! The transfer was quick and easy. We got to learn more about the unique community and people of Uros! The views, the people, the food were all amazing! They helped us with taxis as well!
Also the heating in the room made the atmosphere extra cozy for us! Overall an unforgettable experience!!

We actually loved every single minute of our stay

Cesar is a nice host! He likes to explain the story of his community and shares with tourist how the Islands were built. He takes care of the Guests with warm Rooms and hot bottles for the beds during night. Last but not least, the food was very good.

the location is perfect, the room is gracious and facilities is good, hot shower, delicious meals, heating devices inside room, beautiful balcony and lake view… Also Cesar took us to his community and explained how their people make living on the island, it’s interesting. we arrived at early morning by bus, Cesar had taxi pickup us from bus station right away and transferred us to his beautiful home with no extra charge, the last day he arranged taxi to Puno airport based on our schedule, thank you, Cesar and Lucy.

the view is just amazing, just relax and spend a day
I think there no hot water after daytime because they use sun panel

Amazing views, very friendly and helpful owner. Activities were very interesting. amazingly managed to get 4G from the mainland. Room was very clean, and water was left for us daily! Food was very good!
It is worth saying there is a dry toilet, no charger in the room, but there is one in the breakfast room and frankly this is to be expected given you’re on an island!

Cesar and his wife Lucia were the best hosts, Lucia showed us how she fish, they were always careful for any need we have. The bedroom with the heater and the amazing view on the lake, I can recommend 1000%
The food is really good too, really typical, I said I was vegetarian and they immediately adapted something for me, really nice of them !
If you are looking for a calm, relaxing, authentic place to stay, away from very touristics islands, please go stay at Cesar and Lucia’s lodges.

Cesar is excellent host. The tour he provide to Uros island is excellent, and meals are great.
I wouldn't say I didn't like, but rather say it's not as I expected, especially, condition wasn't mentioned in description or reviews:
1. Dry Toilet without lid -- this is absolutely a surprised. At least please add a lid to the dry toilet to prevent odors spread to the entire bathroom and room.
2. We went in June, winter time. It was 24 F degree and only heater is heater connect to a propane can with visible fire inside the room. The Carbon dioxide was accumulated inside the room at night that burned my eyes. I had to leave the door open a bit to allow airflow otherwise we might got pinioned.
3. No charging port/outlet inside the room. only charging port is in the share dining room that everyone plug in their phones to charge. Bring a backup battery if you can.
Other than these, it was a very nice B&B, we would love to stay a bit longer if the condition improved.

Idillic and romantic place in the middle of the peaceful titicaca lake. Cesar and Lucy were extremely nice and caring and always ready to make us feel home. We fell in love with the whole experience. Don’t think twice, just go, it is magic!

The views were simply amazing, we rested here after our 5 day Salkantay trek, it was everything we needed. The food was amazing, the culture so interesting and the terraces perfect for watching the sunset.
The only thing we did not realize was that there was absolutely no possibility to get Internet or money and because of a difficult chaotic day before our arrival we were not prepared. However, César helped us with everything, even made our bus reservations and made us feel right at home.

Food was excellent, nice to see youngsters around but didn’t really see test of family .
I think things are looking a little tired after two years of no tourism.
Although basic facilities, a toilet lid would be good and some heater in the dining area .
