The original heritage building has been preserved about as respectfully as possible. The light that comes through the airwells in the morning and late afternoon is stunning. Room was well presented and clean, and the location is unbeatable for getting around George Town or hopping on a bus to practically anywhere in Penang. But I think the best part is the service. The staff are always smiling and ready to help, and the complimentary afternoon tea in the very comfortable coffee house with local teatime treats was exactly what we needed in the hottest part of the day.
Noisy and inconsiderate guests who don't seem to have internal volume control buttons. I think staff could have applied some polite assertiveness in asking these people to turn it down since we were all sharing the space and their rowdiness was making it a very uncomfortable experience. Fortunately, our stay was longer and it's not every day that we had to encounter rudeness from the other guests.

Nice service, comfortable rooms, lovely and special interiour and wonderful breakfast! Besides, the hotel is close to Little India and many attractions in Georgetown. We spend 4 days there and would always choose this place again!
There is nothing to complain, really.

Spacious room, nostalgic ! Excellent idea in preserving heritage landmark. The shower was excellent for such a hot weather city, it makes me relax and feels great after a long day walking tour.
The noise of water pressure pump is a nuisance when someone is using the washroom, aircond is slightly under powered for hot afternoon day, night is ok.

Staff, location, decor, food, books! It was neat and clean, the staffs were very helpful, location was at the edge of George Town heritage zone and buffer zone right next to the police station. l’d definitely visit again.
Small bathroom, loft heritage room at the top didn’t have any view except for AC units.

Design and decoration were nice, centrally located
The breakfast wasn’t good, tea and coffee undrinkable, food not enough, the kitchen wasn’t able to replenish the food fast enough. whenever there was a refill of anything, it was gone immediately

The location is perfect, walking distance to many tourist attractions.
The family room was spacious, had two double beds.
It was quite noisy, we can hear all the prayers. Also the noise inside the hotel because the walls are quite old ones.

The hotel has a lovely ambiance, with garden trappings both inside and out, and a strong emphasis on the gorgeous original structure. The staff were lovely and very helpful, helping arrange an airport transfer and a complimentary afternoon tea. The location is excellent with a short walk into the heart of George town.
The location of the hotel, while central to the main bus terminal of George town, was a solid walk from the ferry beach. The room was a good size for one person, but could be squeezy for two.

Location was very good, downtown. The hotel was absolutely beautiful, colonial style. Breakfast was good, choice of meals from a menu (local and continental) with fresh fruits and bread. Lovely afternoon tea and very kind staff.
Nothing :) I would come back right away

the sound proof is bad, could hear people talking outside the door. The wooden door cracks can be seen.

Nazrin at the front desk was wonderful, really helped us on our first day. Kitchen team was lovely too. The breakfast and complimentary afternoon tea were plentiful and well made. Nice hotel decor, especially in the common areas.
No sockets by the bed. Our loft room didn't have any usable windows/views (only knee–height that overlooked AC machines), so we were completely dependent on the electrical lighting. And the low voltage lighting gave us a headache. Two junior front desk people gave numerous bits of of incorrect information that wasted half a day of our precious two days in Penang. The location, though ostensibly in Georgetown, is on its periphery and in a decidedly grotty end of town that did not make for pleasant walking around the hood. The loft room design (the only ones with twin beds so we couldn't switch) had two steps from the door going up to the room, and two additional steep steps going down to the loo; these were a constant source of anxiety for my elderly mother.

Breakfast was lovely. Lots of choice plus the added pastries and fruit which was help yourself
It was a lovely, traditional shop house building.
It was like the hotel came alive at night! Between the hours of 12am-4am! Unsure if it was staff or guests but because of the open space outside of the rooms the noise created echoed which in turn woke us up every single night we were there!

The interior/design of the hotel was lovely, the sitting area on the ground floor was a nice place to relax.
The location was quite good, only a few minutes walk from 'the top' where the rainbow sky bridge is. If you know where you're going then it's only about 10 minutes walk to Armenian Street and a few minutes from the dark mansion and upside down museum. The hotel staff were very lovely and welcoming and more than happy to help with any queries/directions.
The Breakfast was very nice, you order from a menu, as well as being able to help yourself to pastries, cereal and juice.
The room was lovely but a little small, not really a huge issue, just that I'm clumsy and hit my leg in the bed when coming out the bathroom a few times.
We had no problems with noise overnight, but the walls are quite thin, so it was noisy when they started preparing breakfast in the morning.
