Comfortable bed
We had the room by the front door so we were woken up by everyone coming in late and going out early.
There was only one towel so I rang to request another one but it didn’t arrive so we had to share the one towel.

I stay at this location whenever in the area. There is the opportunity for a pleasant stroll along the canal towpath and a spacious and seemingly secure car park. Clean rooms and a tasty breakfast.
No complaints.

Good location to the motorway. Fair prices. Very quite rooms
Nothing.

A well above average overnight facility with food on site and delightfully decorated rooms. A good stopping off point for Sherwood Forest or further east.
Be aware of the sticking up drain cover en route to the pub from the lodge. My wife had a nasty fall

Location was good.
Rooms were not clean, especially the bathroom. Previous people's pubic hairs still in the bath. The noise was unbearable, which gave us 2 sleepless nights. People are coming and going all night. Couple were arguing in the room opposite, workmen that were staying above sounded like they were coming through the ceiling. Through no fault of their own just terrible soundproofing. Would not recommend and will not be staying again.

Meal was in the attached pub and was of reasonable quality. Room was nice and large. Bathroom great
Room not serviced after first day, food was in another buildign so in the rain it was annoying, bill wasnt able to be printed out and they did not email it when asked.

Staffresponse to a simple request was not good at all.

Location is great.
Noise from upstairs is u bearable
Saw two rats running around back of pub near bins. Went in pub to check in six young lads sat on pool table running riot. One bloke shouting to his family across the pub swearing. Not one member of staff said anything.

Very clean and comfortable
Staff were very helpful and kind
Food was lovely too
The soap and shampoo bottles in the bathroom were empty. Thankfully I had got my own soap etc.

Rooms were clean
Rooms on the car park side were very light and very noisy. We ate in the Lockkeeper for 2 evenings and 1 breakfast, the first evening there were many things on the menu unavailable but we thought it a one off. The next day our family ate after my fathers funeral, a large party so they tried to put us in the kiddie section, then became unhappy with us as we said it was inappropriate, so wanted to move, we happily sat on a collection of adjacent tables rather than 1 large table that would have required furniture to be moved, bearing in mind the place was empty, the staff were moody and generally unhelpful. There was lots on the menu not available, I had the same salad meal on both evenings but the second night was unrecognisable to the first night - the chicken and bacon salad had less than half the meat content and none of the grains as stated on the menu. The next morning breakfast the fact there was no milk was the final straw. When there are 2 major supermarkets within 200m this is unacceptable. We will not stay here again.

We liked the room
Location was amazingly difficult to find in the dark just off a long busy road with lots of commercial buildings even with a staff descriprion of how to find it. One of us needed medication to be stored in a freezer overnight. Not possible, fair enough, but staff were unable to suggest a reasonable alternative.
Meal service slow, & carvery had closed.

It was modern and clean and it was a good sized room with a good sized bathroom.
The staff were not friendly and the food was of a poor standard.

having a restaurant next door and the location
unfortunately we were on the ground floor and as the room above was occupied we could hear every footstep they took as very creaky floorboards... not conducive to a good night's sleep!

Clean, quiet
Zip bed wasn’t ideal, partner kept falling into the middle

Hotel has one extremely noisy side (to a busy street) and one quiet side (to the canal). As I have been there before, I requested a room to the quiet side in my reservation via booking. This was ignored. I was given a room to the noisy side. The staff that was checking me in was unfortunately not competent enough to change my room and at the end mocking me that I had to stay in the room that was designated to me. Needless to say I hardly slept for 2 nights despite ear plugs.
Room service is another permanent problem at the Lock Keeper. During my first stay in May 2023 my room was not made at all on my first night. This time there was a black hair curl in the shower stuck to the wall when I came. Yuck. ( I am blond.) I left it there, just to see if room service would detect it... Of course not. It was still there when I left. The taps at the sink and shower were forgotten to be cleaned. Garbage was not emptied neither.
The place has really cheap rates and was located perfectly for the business I had to do, but I will not endeavour staying there again.

The staff at the pub were very helpful with my wife's food allergies. They really made a good effort to help her. We were impressed.
The restaurant area in the pub needed a proper clean - cobwebs, dust

It was very clean, I told the staff I was partially disabled so they made sure I was on the ground floor, also the price was very reasonable and the young lady that dealt with me was so helpful and friendly, I will definitely stay again when I am in the area.
I thought better direction sign's might have helped me to find the hotel easier,
