A lot of unique character and location. Lovely bar and breakfast.

I liked the Globe Inn venue - great central location, vibrant, welcoming, good food. Great breakfast. Very comfortable bed. I would stay again but only in a room at the Globe Inn location, not The Arch House rooms.
Sadly, my room wasn’t in the Globe Inn or even close! I only found out after booking that my room (standard double) was in The Arch House - a soulless, self check-in/self check-out building 5 minutes walk away on edge of town (solo travellers to note if eating at The Globe). No welcome, no atmosphere and definitely not a ‘stay’ at the Globe Inn. Very nice bed but tiny, shabby bathroom the size of a cloakroom with string replacing broken handle. I don’t think The Arch House rooms should be marketed under the same name as The Globe - very misleading. Two very different venues.

Location was great. Loved the decor and the lovely courtyard at the back. Bedroom was comfortable and clean with a fan provided which worked well.
Staff were fantastic- friendly and helpful. Food in the restaurant was excellent.
There is no parking provided - not even a car park that can be paid for so when we arrived on a busy Saturday afternoon we spent 20-30 minutes looking for a space…and then dared not leave it in case we returned and couldn’t find another one! Probably not a problem out of peak season.

Friendly staff, nice room with outside terrace for guests and good breakfast.
Too many dogs, we were not aware it was dog friendly and I have an allergy.

Location and staff very good
Limited parking and noise from the kitchen extractor fans

We stayed at the Arch house which was a 5 minute walk from the pub . It had a nice seating area and free carpark
Our room was very sad looking not what it shown in the lovely pictures , the bathroom was tatty , didn’t like the walk to the pub for breakfast ..when we booked didn’t know we were going to be out here , until later ..five minute walk doesn’t seem far to the pub for breakfast but it is an inconvenience when it’s a wet day unfortunately .would rather of been in the pub ..It didn’t spoil our visit wells ..but when booking be aware you may not actually be staying at the Globe

Good location for walking. Nice breakfast served in a modern restaurant. Good room facilities.
Pricey for what was offered, both the night stay and the restaurant. Aircon unit made a recurring bang while in use so couldn't use at night. Flashing lights outside the window and machine lights in room on all the time, so room wasn't as dark as wanted at night. Metal bedframe was uncomfortable, room wasn't as modern as the photos and could do with a lick of paint.

Location and Facilities
Our room (No 7) was a little dated/cluttered. Problems with the shower adjustment and water slow flowing down plug hole.

Met all expectations

The breakfast at the Globe was fantastic. We had an evening meal there and it was as brilliant. The problem is withe off site accomodation.
Our room 33 had to be accessed by steep narrow stairs. There was no milk provided. The shower was cramped and the hose dated and difficult to managed The room itself was crowded and overall dated and of poor quality for the price.,

The staff at the Globe were fantastic the tall guy behind the bar looked after all our needs weather it was checking in or out. Breakfast was fantastic too. The same guy found us a table with no booking. Just above and beyond helpful.

Arch Rooms were further from Globe Inn than expected. Not a problem for us but for less mobile and if the weather is not bad could be.

excellent value for money, excellent location and spotlessly clean.
4.1
Fantastic location, nice restaurant and visual settings in and around both the globe inn and the arch rooms. Comfortable bed and clean room
the kettle leaked and wasn’t cordless which made pouring tea difficult, the walls were paper thin and could hear conversations from next door clearly. the breakfast was underwhelming and although we had breakfast included in our room, I’d have been disappointed if I had paid the £18.50 as advertised and got served what we had been given. We stayed in the Arch House rooms although that wasn’t the room that was advertised on here when we booked. It would be good for them to add photos of the arch rooms on here as they are also pretty and well made.

Good location, good communication regarding booking, reception and accessing the property
Obviously there is work needed as the place has only recently been acquired. Water pressure needs attention as shower was poor.
4.1
Excellent quality food and service. Excellent accommodation. Although there were dogs everywhere, including in the restaurant, they were well behaved due to the relaxed atmosphere of the globe and responsible owners. We don't have a dog but it was charming not concerning to have so many dogs about.
No parking. Had to park away from the Globe, although it was never more than 5 mins walk.

Lovely location, excellent food and drink options in the bar and restaurant and the staff were friendly and helpful. Brilliant atmosphere around the hotel.
As the hotel is part of a trusted brand our expectations were high (and especially for the price we paid).
Unfortunately the room we stayed in had not been well maintained or cleaned appropriately before our stay. Whilst individually there were small issues they all added up to being a disappointing experience. The bathroom wasn’t as clean as you’d expect it to be nor was the floor throughout, furniture was missing handles, toilet seat loose / not fitted properly and a stale smell coming from the bathroom sink. The mattresses were uncomfortable with the springs easily felt. Lighting was poor. All in all not good value for money.

the location was lovely and the beer garden and restaurant too.
our room was very dark with only one small window in the door, the bathroom smelled damp and the Tv didn’t work.
it was very expensive and poor value.

Room was comfortable and clean. Staff were really friendly and had Plenty of time for you despite being really busy.
Our room window fronted on to a terrace which, when occupied, did feel as if others were a little too close.
Parking was off site (which we knew when booking) but in peak times would be difficult to find a space close to hotel.
4.1
breakfast in Globe inn and courtyard at Arch House Rooms. Bed was comfortable with good bedding
When booking it is not clear if you will be in Globe in or Arch House rooms. the photos do not resemble the rooms in Arch House which is a good 5 min walk not 2 mins as stated on their emails after booking. Room 30 the bathroom is tiny with a bifold door that does not allow privacy and has a bit of wool on the back to close. the shower head needs attention as will not stay up. There were no wardrobes only rails in alcoves.

Good location facing a pretty green. Wells-Next-the-Sea is a lovely town. Breakfast was very good and the dinner we had was also lovely. We did have a lovely waitress who moved us from the bar to a quieter area.
Our room was overlooked from the roof terrace and didn’t feel private. The services were very noisy which didn’t make for a great night. Some of the reception staff weren’t as welcoming as the could be. Parking was very difficult at the Globe.

Room amenities and bathroom were excellent.
2 staff absolutely shone. Young man behind the bar and the young man with the tattoos and white shirt both were so customer focussed and helpful.
Bathroom was awesome.
The mattress was very uncomfortable with springs digging in.
Breakfast was great Day 1, poor day 2 and slightly better day 3.

Great location (5 minutes walk from the waterfront but in a quiet area) and the room had all the facilities you'd need for a stay for multiple nights to self-cater. We only stayed one night but would happily stay longer.
Our family room was in a loft and in summer, with the windows open you would probably get a lot of noise from the pub courtyard, which wouldn't be ideal with small kids. But the other family room is at the back of the building so wouldn't have this problem - worth checking when booking if this would be an issue for you.
