Beautiful room with amazing hosts, professional service

This was the best accomodation during my holiday in Sri Lanka! The room was so bright, comfortable, clean. The host was so helpful, he took us for a trip to jewelry factory and tea factory on motorbikes with his son and didn't charge anything for it. He left in the room books in our native language (small but impressive detail). His wife cooked delicious meals, you can also order lunch or dinner in European style. The family was really very caring and they tried very hard to prevent cheating on their guests by tuktuk drivers and other untrustable people. Thank you! I would definitely come back 🙏 We had a great rest here and we felt very welcomed.

The location and view from the room was amazing! We really enjoyed staying here. The hosts were so lovely and they are glad to help you with anything. The room was big and we slept very well in the comfy beds. The airconditioning worked very well and the bathrooms were clean.

- A great mix of homestay-feeling (having breakfast in the families kitchen) and at the same time enough privacy (beautiful room with quiet balcony) - friendly and warm hearted hosts, creating a welcoming atmosphere. - location a bit away from the center, but we enjoyed the quiet atmosphere and the feeling of being not in the "hotel area" of Kandy but at a place where people actually live.

Be aware that the last approximately 50 meters the road get's extremely steep!

Owners are such lovely people. Very welcoming. Breakfast was lovely.

We didn't have such a great night's sleep here, pillows were too hard & smelt a little damp.

The breakfast was wonderful, with a range of choices. Such a lovely family that will do anything for you with really well-spoken English. Location is close to the city.

The hosts are really nice people which definitely gives you a good overall impression of the listing. When selecting rooms, I suggest you go for a more expensive one with an aircondition as it is also bigger and much nicer. The small room without aircon is a bit smelly so we selected a bigger one and we were happy we did. There is a tv, so if you have kids, they can watch children programmes. The breakfast was nice and decent. The location is up a steep hill but easy to walk, no big deal I read in reviews. It is not very central so you take a tuktuk (5 min) and get there easily from the city center that is very busy. Kandy mountain cottage is in a quiet area which is also my personal preference. There is a hot water. Nice balcony.

I would suggest having a small fridge in the rooms, however, the hosts let us put our drinks in their big fridge downstairs. I would also suggest buying new towels - they were a bit off.

We had a very good time at Kandy Mountain Cottage. Our booking was super spontaneous on Christmas day but our hosts welcomed us so friendly. They prepared us an amazing meal and we had a really nice chat. Would totally recommend staying with these lovely and caring hosts

The best owners

The best owners in Kandy. Every morning they cooked great breakfast for us and recommended a lot of place for visiting. Apartments with air conditioner was good, clean and comfortable. Nice view from room.

The family is super nice and we always had a good chat with them at breakfast. They gave us tips for activities in Kandy and were super helpful when we had questions. Also a big thank you again for spontaneously bringing us to the train station.

Amazing Hospitality from a lovely couple

Joseph and Sharni will be your Sri Lankan parents when you stay here! They go above and beyond to make sure everything is ok, to help you with anything you need including scooter rental. They also love to feed you! They cook delicious food, and any type of food you want. I suffered with a bad stomach and just needed plain food, J&S were more than happy to accommodate this and made some delicious chicken, potato croquettes and boiled vegetables. Thank you so much! The bathroom also has hot water which is sometimes hard to come by in Sri Lanka.

Rooms are very basic and could be quite stuffy and uncomfortable due to the heat with only having a fan, but you get what you pay for. The meals we had were amazing but might be a little expensive for those on a tighter budget so make sure to check the costs first.

Family is very friendly and helpful. The room have big balcony doors. Open it and the room gives you more spacious and bright feeling. Bed is big and comfortable. Everything is neat and clean. The breakfast provided is very good.

As bed is very big the space in the room is less. Small bathroom. The property is little inside.
