Nice Gasthaus, close to village centre and national park.
Restaurant closed on day I stayed which wasn’t stated on booking.com. Check property‘s own website.
There is another restaurant nearby though - worth booking ahead. Twin room was quite small.

Breakfast was pretty good, nice. Nothing too much special, just a casual food, bread, cheese, coffee. But it was completely enough and nice.
I was surprised that after my stay I had to pay more 5eur, since for one person I've already pay 110eur. I know that this is some city tax, but it should be written somewhere, also strange that after you have to pay it in cash... And for one person price for two days isn't so small :)

Remote and very peaceful location, perfect for hiking, but also relaxing just for a break. This is a lovely old fashioned country inn with nice food for all tastes, homecooked by their chef. The breakfast was decent, continental style and choices for all tastes. Service staff was very pleasant and kind. The room was lovely and warm.
We have no issues to report, but maybe I should note that if you do not speak German you should know how to use google translate for the menu.

Exceptional breakfast
Small room, yet great shower and comfy beds
Extremely unflexible and rude host.
We were on a strenuous hike and had difficulties navigating, making us arrive later than expected. We did call in advance to let them know, the first answer was : "You either arrive on time or not. Past that time I'm already in bed and the door is locked. " Which was nice, given our alternative was sleeping in the woods. In all fairness, we did get a call in half an hour, offering a security box with a code, where keys could be waiting for us (that option had been there all along, so we didn't understand the drama). Very impolite and rude phone conversations.
The next morning after breakfast we asked to refill our water bottles with water for our hike, they made us feel as if we were stealing from them.

Very cute, little town that is easily accessible using the bus system.
Perhaps this was a factor of Corona but there was only one restaurant in the whole village that was open. The majority of travelers to this location were hikers and cannot take a car to the next village for dinner. We were lucky enough to get into the restaurant after waiting an hour but some people we were hiking with were not so lucky and did not have dinner that night. There are no supermarkets around so this really is the only option. As I said, this may have been due to Corona but it was a known issue before we arrived and I would have appreciated the host telling us before hand.
