Ultimately spot for the whole family despite some issues - my brother arrived at 4:15 (15 minutes after check-in time to unload some essentials being transported by another vehicle with time sensitivity) and cleaners were there cleaning telling him there was no record of anybody staying there that day and asked him to come back 30 minutes later. Inconvenient for us - we did tell VRBO and they said they made note, but that was all.
My mom has a hard time getting around and a bit more stairs than comfortable for her.
We used the hot tub daily but it did have the green color as noted by other guests - we did contact VRBO and they said they would let a local manager know. The local manager said the earliest anybody could come out was the day after informing them but nobody ever came. I imagine it needs to be drained and cleaned far more often than it is right now. No temperature problems there.
The porch in back does have some loose boards with one board moving enough to reveal several points of screws that may hurt one not paying attention to their feet. The bathroom floors also had some water damage, so may need to be assessed at some point - we felt no safety concern there.
We did not have a problem with noise others have had as large fans were provided and helped drown out extra noise. One more large fan would have been nice for all 3 bedrooms to have one.
The local manager was kind enough to get back to me prior to our stay as we have local family that likes to sto

Home is very old, the upgrades are nice. Everywhere you walk on the 2nd floor feels like your going to fall through the floor. Bath towels were damp and not dry.
Jacuzzi had a very dirty ring around it and green algae look to it. The home served it's purpose but I wouldn't pay $$ what to not be able to use all the amenities.

Liked the location for getting to the Columbia River Gorge. The place was clean and the kids enjoyed the ping pong table

We stayed here so we could go up the Columbia river to see and hike all the waterfalls. Also checked out the Bonneville dam. The house was perfect, very clean and well equipped. Lots of room for 4 of us. The back yard was lovely and we gathered there after days of hiking. The living room was big enough for all of us too. We really liked the house. Only a small problem that the house is on a rather busy street. Backing out of the drive was a tiny bit tricky but that didn't detract from the location or the house itself.

We’ve had some bad rental experiences with houses that were supposedly “sparkling clean” and were very much not so. The Buxton was everything it claimed to be and was a breath of fresh air to come to after a long day of traveling with kids. The layout and location were great, simple things like lots of linens and pillows available and overall so comfortable. They’ve done a great job of making it homey, not just go to a thrift store for cheap dishes and some tacky wall art.
We would rent again in a heartbeat

Recommended! Had a few ants on the living room table, no screens on the windows. Hot tub could have been a smidge warmer. Everything else was great. Bed was comfortable, didn't wake up sore/ stiff. Coffee maker and keurig, full fridge. No hassles whatsoever!

Hot tub was sadness didn't get to correct temperature until after the second night of the stay and when it was at temperature would drop by 1 degree about every 10 minutes with the cover open. House is on a fairly busy street. The beds were comfortable enough and the house was pleasant overall. Family had a good time during our stay.

It was awesome to have a ping pong table, hot tub and games to play during our stay. The beds were comfy, everything was clean. I liked the location, Troutdale is a cute little town close to a bunch of waterfall hikes!

Great location 15 min drive from Portland center and at the start of the Columbia river gorge filled with beautiful views and waterfalls to visit while staying at this comfortable house. Enjoyed eating at the Troutdale Station 2 min drive away with great selection of food trucks all under one roof.

Nice, clean home for our weekend trip.
The house was very clean and comfy. We were very happy with the hot tub. Our last stay at another location did not take good care of their hot tub, so we were all excited to actually get to use this one. The house is off of the main road, so you need to be careful of traffic, but luckily we didn't have any issues. We also liked how it was walking distance to their little down town area. We went to Lolo's Pizza and it was delicious! We also had a ping pong tournament in the garage, which was a lot of fun. Our only suggestion would be to get a sound bar or speakers for the TV in the living room. But overall, we loved our stay!

Buxton Review
We decided to stay in Troutdale rather than downtown Portland and it was a great decision because Portland was quick and easy to get to, and Troutdale was more peaceful. The house was very neat and spacious and was perfect for our family. We would stay there again.

Having the whole house to invite family over for a meal. A great place just to relax. We enjoyed staying at the Buxton so much, thank you.
Just a note: the jacuzzi felt slimy to sit in, like it needed to be drained and scrubbed out. It didn’t get as warm as what we would have liked either. The water dispenser did not work on the refrigerator.
Big room at top of the stairs, light switch as you enter the room? It did not turn on any lights. We could not figure that one out.
Two little things, just wanted owners to know. Loved the house so nice and clean. Excellent lay out. Loved it

Great location for exploring the gorge.
Property was well furnished. Beds were comfortable, showers had a lot of pressure. We ordered out dinners, only used the kitchen for breakfast. It was a good stay.

Cute place to stay
This is a 3 bedroom 2 1/2 bath house with hot tub. Depending on what you want to do in or around Portland activities are at least 30 minutes away. The house it self is nice but not amazing. We probably wouldn’t have 6 adults in the house and the kitchen/living room was tight for everyone at the same time. When using the hot tub they provided towels but water was down the hallway anyway. Overall, we really liked the house and would stay here again and liked the house.

Nice stay
Backyard not cozy or attractive, only part manicured, but hot tub is very functional and was very nice. House is wonderful, more roomy than expected. Very comfy furniture. Would stay at again for sure.

Spacious house in good location
We enjoyed our stay at this spacious house in Troutdale. Everything was good. It's a convenient location in between Portland and the Columbia Gorge, and close to the airport. I recommend the sternwheel paddleboat tour on the Columbia River. Fun!

Comfortable home
The house was very comfortable for our family. We enjoyed eating out on the deck and had fun playing ping pong.
We were disappointed that the hot tub wasn't functional. The labels are all worn off on the control panel and there weren't instructions about how to make it work.
The window in the master bedroom could also use a blackout curtain. There is a street light right outside that window which kept the room too bright all night.
Other than that, we found the house very comfortable and enjoyed our stay.

Life changing weekend and we soaked up the restorative spaciousness of this house for three nights. See you next year.

Good Overall
Our group of 6 (three generations) all liked the house. It comfortably fit us, is nicely laid out, and modern. The residential location is great. We like the neighborhood and its a short easy drive to everything. On the downside, the hot tub was non-responsive during our stay, and the bigger issue was that the air handler had been turned off, so no AC. The AC issue was addressed during our stay and we were advised that a significant part was ordered for hot tub. We understand these things happen, and would recommend this location to others. Our experience was good overall.

Nice home away from home. Great location
Very nice home, beautifully decorated with all the conveniences you’ll need. Great location close to the heart of town. Two issues were ants in the kitchen on the counter and cool temperature in the hot tub with only one jet that worked and no buttons that seemed to work to warm the tub. If these were fixed the place would be a five star accommodation.

Overall experience of the property was good. There are a few things that kept me from giving a 5 star review. The first day upon checking in I had to call a family member in Washington to bring a shovel so I could shovel the drive way in order to park in the drive way. Last snow was almost a week prior. We also followed the instructions on the hot tub numerous of times multiple days out of the stay and it would never reached anywhere near a warm temperature. The hot tub was a big reason for booking this place and we didnt get to use it.
