About this apartment rental

In the heart of downtown Madeline Island. Walking distance to restaurants, bars and beaches. This is an ideal place to relax and take in the views. Your rental unit is located on the second floor and has its own private deck to enjoy morning coffee a cocktail or just to soak in the scenery. There is additional common space that can be enjoyed as well. This includes a massive deck with plenty of seating and tables to enjoy additional views or company if you so chose. We have created a bbq and beer garden as well. Use one of the grills and courtyard area for wonderful meal outside.

The hotel room has a queen bed and a private bathroom. Please note that the max guests allowed. If you exceed the max amount we may ask you to leave the property and no refund will be provided.

Note that the hotel unit does not have a microwave. We are providing a standard drip coffee maker, but if you prefer there is a coffee shop, and stores within a short walk of your unit. We provide coffee pot filters and coffee cups. Please bring your own ground coffee and any other fixings you like.

The Bell Street Lodging was constructed with concrete forms. The concrete forms offer a quiet sanctuary within your space. Or step outside and walk a 100 yards to Tom's Burned Down Cafe. Tom's is an island music oasis. Not to mention spectacular for people watching. Enjoy a short walk to the Beach Club for a sunset view and refreshment. Your family could enjoy Grampa Tony's also within 100 yards of your stay.

If you enjoy the convenience of staying close to the action this is the accommodation for you. One flight of stairs, unpack and park your car for the rest of your stay if you chose.

The Bell Street is a bar/restaurant/event center. Since it is operating as a bar/restaurant/event center there may be an event with live music/speeches or late night activity. You may be a part of that event or renting during that event. We can't guarantee that you will not hear the music or the activity. Unless there is a wedding event, the music will stop by Midnight and the Event will end no later than 1am, the other nights the music should stop between 9 and10pm . We want you to be aware that there may be an event on the day that you book your reservation or sometime thereafter. We ask that if you stay with us that you are aware of the potential event noise and that this will not be a reason to ask for a refund. There are a total of 4 units as a part of this building and there may some noise from your neighbors (similar to an apartment). We just want you to be aware this is not a single family rental unit.

Please be mindful of the Ferry schedule. We can not offer a refund if you can't make the last boat. Please check their website for any travel advisories before traveling.. Also, if you are booking very close to your arrival date please pay attention to our strict cancellation policy.

Note: Check in time is 4pm and check out time is 10am. Please note due to the very high lodging demand we cannot offer early check in or late check out. Recently we have had guests who have exceeded the max guests allowed. This is a direct violation of our reservation policy. As an FYI, if your number of guests exceed the max allowed you will be asked to leave and no refund will be provided.

We really enjoyed the property and view provided on top of the Bell Street. We were centrally located in downtown La Pointe, and could people watch and enjoy the music from Tom's Burned Down Cafe. We walked to dinner at the Pub, and had a nice day on the balcony enjoying the breeze and enjoying the beauty of Madeline Island.

Location is perfectly in the heart of town, which makes it easy to get to wherever you need to be. I picked it because of the location and didn't fully read the description. I knew it was right by Tom's Burned Down, but you could also hear the band from the Beach Club. Some people would think it's amazing to hear live music from every side of the deck, but not a 60 year old there for a funeral 😂. The room was super comfortable, just know that you're going to have band noise every weekend night.

My husband and I wanted to have a getaway weekend for our 2nd year anniversary, and it was a beautiful amazing time! Our Vrbo was awesome, and clean. We enjoyed just sitting out side our room door and using the shared deck space, which you could see lake superior. Great stay you will not regret it!

The room was great. Updated, clean and well organized. I would suggest a new shower head. Really not even a complaint. Overall, nice atmosphere and great location to bars, restaurants and the Ferry.

Very clean and great communication. However, very small no closet, it literally is what you see in the picture. If you need just a bed and shower perfect. I bit too small for a couple on a long weekend and the price did not match the space. I will say the owner of the property is 5 stars, he was great and the space was clean and the bed was very comfortable. Just small and a bit overpriced. I would recommend for those doing a q quick weekend, but beyond 2 nights it would not be ideal. We are thankful for the opportunity to stay.

Stayed the weekend at Bell Street with my wife for our anniversary. It was our first time on Madeline Island and we had a great time! The place was clean and tidy, check in process was smooth, communication with Dave was great, and Dave gave good recommendations on food and places to visit. Location was great to people watch from the balcony as well as to walk to local establishments for food, drink, and merchandise. Would absolutely recommend Madeline Island for a getaway and would choose to stay at Dave’s place again if/when we return.

Even though we had the smallest room available, it didn’t matter. This island has something for everyone to do every day. The bed was super comfy, being that the only thing we did in. The room was sleep… we grilled out every night, had cocktails on the patio or across the streeT. It was great. See you next year!

The space is clean and comfortable in a happening space of town. Next to Tom's Burned Town Bar which is a great space for some. The customer service is typical island vibe which is slow and casual with unexpected hours for non-islanders. Room is attached to a space for larger groups and can be used as an adjoining room which permitted their noise and conversations to be heard. Very convenient location if you don't want to bring vehicle. Close to everything by foot.

The room was comfortable and perfect for two people. There was a small refrigerator in there was helpful. Location was awesome! Couldn’t find much going on on the island, but as an ongoing issue they are very short staffed. Very limited eateries.

Staying on the island is wonderful! This property was great for us and I can imagine staying again, possibly in one of the other units that have LR, kitchen and bedrooms. Our room was located across from Tom's Burned Down Bar and there was music a couple of nights but it seemed to shut down promptly around midnight so that was not a big issue. I would have enjoyed a few more niceties in the room , e.g. a couple of glasses and bed side tables and lamps on both sides of the bed. But it is so hard to book a place if you don't do it very early that we were delighted to land this room. Mary

Fantastic location. Enjoyed the large decks overlooking the town and distant views of Lake Superior. Very relaxing. Music at Toms was very enjoyable from our deck. It was not a problem after we went to bed, we were able sleep no problem. Hope to rent it again.
