Horrible and uncomfortable.

The room is humid and uncomfortable. And the hotel has a complex and unreasonable policy of deposit refunding. When customers are checking in, the receptionist does not clearly to highlight the punish policy. Important rules in paper are not marked for customers to notice.

I feel uncomfortable about this experience in this hotel and confused about the deposit policy. I've never seen any policy like that in the United States.

Exceptional

We loved the design, especially the rooms and rooftop area. It was very clean and we felt comfortable the entire time. Also, the location was fantastic to be walk along the beach and along many restaurants.

Hotel restaurant was closed on Tuesday during the visit.

We really enjoyed the hotel and where we stayed, Esperanza a cute beach town.

El Blok is a small and very unique building with interesting rooms. We loved the architecture and it sits right across from the beach. It was very clean. The restaurant on site is excellent and they have a rooftop with jacuzzi and killer views. On Sundays they have a DJ and bar on the roof to watch the sunset.

The beds were too soft for my taste, but very good quality linens, etc. Our room faced the street and the traffic noise was pretty high during the day. They have coffee available only from 8-10, no breakfast (restaurant closed in the mornings)

Location is the only advantage.

Really awful. Charged me 100 dollars for opening the door of the balcony. If they don’t want the guest to leave the door open, put a sign on it or simply lock it, rather than write a sentence on a piece of paper and charge people after they check out.

Extremely disappointing, noisy and overpriced

Only redeeming factor was the restaurant

The noise! The hotel owners/managers need to take a course on hotel management! The cool but bizarre design missed so many practical elements - there was constant beeping and buzzing and ringing heard loud and clear all hours in our room from the elevator, door lock system, and even people’s phones vibrating quite literally through the walls. Our sleep was bad half the nights we were there due to the (preventable) noise with basic practical fixes. The rooftop view is spectacular yet there isn’t no shade whatsoever. The view from rooms could be spectacular yet it’s blocked by the concrete pillars. More impractical choices. The rooms were drab, concrete walls stained with unknown liquids, the bathroom tiles were just gross and the shades had mold on them. Way overpriced. Do not recommend staying here unless some updates are made. Stop by the restaurant though, the food is amazing!

bathroom water wouldn’t drain properly when taking a bath . So it would get unto the room. In one of the rooms the air conditioner wouldn’t function properly, staff didn’t donanything about it.

It is just what we wanted for a couple escapade!

Love the rooms, furniture and space distribution. A/C is great, hot water at any time and cozy bed. It is near to most of the tourist places, but still it is a nice quiet place.

The room cleaning can improve, especially the floor. Particularly on the nights there is no spanish speaker staff at front desk.

Very good

I like the water pressure the room was equipped with steamer blower and the best of all beach chairs. The air conditioner you can change the thermostat. The bed was very comfy and the unique style of the room.

I did not like that there was not a coffee maker in the rooms
