We had our family of four here, and it was a perfect getaway. Mary took great care of us with fresh and authentic meals each day. Even in the July heat, we were able to enjoy our stay because the pool was refreshing and the bedroom air conditioning kept us comfortable at night. The town of Bucerias is a gem.

Lovely home in a great location. Only criticism would be street noise at night!

Fun and beautiful house! 3 masters each with additional lofted twins. The location was perfect for us, walkable to everything, especially the beach! Affordable taxis right outside the door, or local buses and vans just up the hill.
Karen and Maria are the best! The cooked all of our favorite Mexican dishes for breakfast or lunch.

Its hard to put into word how much we enjoyed our stay. We had family coming in from the East and West coast of the US. It was such a pleasure to meet Karen and Maria, they seemed like family from the very first. They met our every expectation. The food was wonderful and it spoiled me from not having to plan, shop, cook and clean after all the meals. Karen's surprise for us was a highlight of the whole trip. (I can't tell what it was as not to spoil it for others). The beach access was so convenient for the whole family and not crowded. We loved that our intersection was a hub for taxi's which made for easy transportation. Also short walking distances to stores, shops and other shopping.

We had an amazing time. The house set up was perfect for 3 couples. The location with its proximity to the beach and town were fantastic. It was very nice to be able to walk everywhere. The common living area and indoor outdoor living is great for a group. Having our own rooms with a/c to retreat to with comfortable beds kept our group refreshed. Karen and Maria and the addition of prepared meals is the best. We opted for breakfast and heavy snacks late afternoon. They honored all our dietary needs. Such a treat. It was my birthday and they got me a delicious cake. Also massage therapist came to the house for a one hour massage. I highly recommend. Communication with Shayne and Karen and Maria easy and responsive. Thank you for the perfect back drop to a birthday trip.

The pool is great, especially for family with kids. They kept it clean and maintained it during our stay. Karen (the cook) does it all. She cooked great meals, cleaned and always made sure we were taken care of. She went above and beyond to make sure my birthday was great. She organized a mariachi, ordered a cake and set up a piñata. Honestly the best birthday I’ve ever had. She also made sure the kids had food they liked and made them smoothies and juices and adult drinks for us. I wish I could take her home with us!

The property was just as described in listing. We used the cooking services provided by Karen and it was amazing. She has a restaurant sized menu to choose meals from and she shops daily for fresh items to cook for your meals of choice. We loved everything she made us, food and drinks!! You pay for the grocery receipts and her taxi fares and then we gave her a nice tip at the end of the week. The pool is salt water and has no smell and it was a perfect temperature. There are several trees around that drop leaves and things, but the pool guys came by a couple of times during the week to clean it up. The main living area and bathrooms are open-air, so it was pretty warm during our July stay. However, there are a/c units for the bedrooms, so we slept comfortably. There were a few mosquitos that got after us in the evenings, so some bug deterrent is a good idea. We only went to the beach once because I prefer a pool, but it is close by. There is a larger hacienda next door that Karen told us has 7 beds & 7 baths, if you are in need of something even bigger. Karen also scheduled a massage for me at the casita for a very reasonable price. I had her come by twice!! Overall a very good trip other than the July heat....but it is Mexico!! It would probably be a really nice springtime location to avoid the heat/humidity, but we just stayed in the private pool to stay cool and we were fine.

I stayed at the property with my husband, three kids (7, 7, 10 years old) and one other family of 4. We had a wonderful time. The home was very cute and clean. The pool was clean and well maintained. The location was on the Main Street in the little town and a block from the beach. The food was outstanding, cooked by the lovely Karen. She was both cook and maid for our trip as she was the only staff member. She cooked everything we asked and was helpful throughout our stay. We had some amazing meals and all agreed her cooking was better than any of the food we ate out at the couple of restaurants we visited. She really made our trip extra special and would look forward to staying at the property and hopefully seeing Karen again in the future.

We had the most wonderful time at this property. A few weeks before our visit, there were some challenges getting the property info (the attachments wouldn’t open when sent through the VRBO website), but then Shayne and I emailed each other directly and all the info came through fine. From that point on, the communication was excellent. Generally Shayne was very quick responding to questions and giving very clear info. The property was great and we enjoyed the warm pool so much that we didn’t go on many outings and we didn’t spend much time one block away at the beach. I would rate the house itself pretty close to a 5/5. Karen (our cook) was amazing- so friendly and helpful. She even arranged a mariachi duo for a surprise serenade during dinner on my wife’s birthday. My wife said it was her best birthday ever (and you can’t put a price tag on that!). One possible “con” to consider is that the ladders up to the lifts are very steep in 2 of the 3 rooms. For most people, this shouldn’t be a problem. But younger kids will need to be careful, especially sleepily climbing down in the dark at night to use the bathroom. The bedside lights in the room flip down in themselves and can serve as “nightlights” so this was helpful. Overall, I would absolutely stay here again.

What an amazing stay! The home is full of charm (that's a good thing). Karen and Mary were so kind and accommodating. It was such a luxury to have breakfast prepared every morning for us. And then to have snacks around 3pm after spending the day on the beach - which is only a block away! Shayne was so patient and kind with all our requests/questions, and she sent a very thorough pre trip info list that covered everything from the airport to dining ideas and shopping tips. We will definitely stay here again.

The house is amazing and close to many amenities. Karen and Maria made the trip amazing for our family. They provided everything we needed to make the trip a great experience. They are amazing chefs, but are also amazingly caring and do everything they can to make sure your stay is comfortable and care free.
It was so nice to have food stocked and a meal and drinks ready as we arrived from a long day of traveling.
We couldn’t have asked for a better experience. They made my wife’s birthday amazing and arranged a cake to be delivered along with musical entertainment.
Thank you so much for a great time at the casita!

Unforgettable Trip
Even before we arrived, in communicating with Shayne about the home, we knew this was going to be a family vacation we would never forget. In previous trips to the Puerto Vallarta area, we have stayed at all inclusive, we will only stay at private homes from here on out.
Upon arrival, being greeted by Karen at the front door and having a phenomenal lunch prepared while we settled in the house for our stay. The staff and food continued to exceed our expectations as the week went on.
The location of a 5 minute walk to the beach, the shopping of Bucerias and the local sports bar Ozzies is perfect.
We will certainly have this home in our hearts forever and will be back again in the near future. Thank you Shayne.

Hospitality, Food and Fun in Bucerias
Maria (the cook) and Yolanda (cook and cleaner) made our stay at Casita Camino Al Mar amazing. Great hospitality and delicious food can be such a unique way to experience culture and make new friends. Maria and Yolanda are the best.
Communication pre-trip with Shayne was great. We picked a few meals and had some help with activities.
Checkin was easy - greeted with homemade chips, guacamole, and margaritas.
The kids swam in the pool a lot. I gave 4 out of 5 stars for the cleanliness because the pool isn’t super clean and the towels were pretty old.
We also took the beach chairs and umbrellas to the beach one block away. The kids were able to safely walk back and forth between the casita and the beach.
Local bars and restaurants give you plenty of options. La Postal and La Negra are both great with or without kids.
The casita is right in the main street in Bucerias. It can be noisy but we didn’t have any trouble sleeping. The beds and bedrooms are well-designed for kids in the lofts. House was a great size for two families of four.
We had a delicious and big breakfast at the casita every morning, courtesy of Maria. Everything is scratch made - even the chips. Crepes, pancakes, huevos rancheros, chilequiles, fresh fruit, fresh squeezed orange juice, etc. All delicious.
We ate lunch or had an afternoon snack at the casita each day. We ate dinner twice at the casita. Again, Maira delivers.
There is a rental shop down the street called Surf Mexico where we got some really nice bikes for the day and did surf lessons one day. They also have kite surfing, foil, e-foil, etc. The surf lessons were a highlight. We organized our own activities but Shayne and Miguel (the house man at the hacienda next door) would have helped also.
The casita is a special place. I recommend it as an alternative to the typical beach resort. The experience, the culture, the town, and the food were all much richer than a hotel. And Maria and Yolanda give such great hospitality. Muchas gracias!

I can’t wait to come back!
I’ve been to Bucerias a few times before, but this was by far my favorite stay. Maria & Karen were amazing, there is no need to go out to eat! They felt like family by the time we left. The house is in a great location, close to the beach, restaurants and art galleries. We can’t wait to return!

Best Trip Ever
From the moment we walked in it was AMAZING! Maria & Karen we absolutely the best, if I could have taken them home with me I would have. The house was spotless, they always had everything we needed. The food they prepared for us was always delicious! And the margaritas- the best!! We honestly can’t say enough about the property. It was incredible in every way. We will definitely be staying here again!! We recommend it 100%!

Casita de mis sueños
First of all, we must recognize and thank the wonderful staff: Ana, Mary and Shayne do a fantastic job. Ana's amazingly delicious cooking kept us happily fed at home. Mary helped and kept the place clean and comfortable. - always with a smile. The decor of the home is warm, rustic and makes you know you are in Mexico (unlike some sterile rentals). Shayne provided some info so I can recreate some of it in my home :) They are excellent staff.
The home is great for families. Our kids (11,14,15) could be in the pool and we could see them easily. The air-conditioning is a delight after being out in the heat of July in Bucerías. I particularly enjoyed watching the iguanas on this visit, although they keep a respectful distance. We were lazy: pool, beach (1/2 block away), shopping and Netflix provided good R&R.
We will be dreaming about the next time we can stay at the Casita. We stayed once in 2017 when only three days were available and had been looking forward to a return. This time we had a full, wonderful week. We feel very fortunate to have had this experience.

Serene tranquility
We felt that we might of had the prettiest little corner in Bucerías. Very private which was great for our little kids staying safe, and a perfect place to chill all night after the kids went to bed. Beautiful house!

Amazing, comfortable place and Anna is great!!
We were a group of 8 people. The house was super nice, very comfortable and had all of the necessities. While it's located outside of PV, cabs were inexpensive. It's a very short walk to the beach and Karen's (which was our daily destination). Bucerias is a really cute town but we stayed in for most of our meals and had Anna cook for us. She is what really made the house special. We didn't have to think about planning a meal for a large group and her food was absolutely delicious. Our group rarely visits the same place more than once but we all agreed we would love to return to the house!!!

Wow, where to even begin. I stumbled on this property when I was looking for a place to host my family for my wedding. I wanted a place where we could all be together but also all have our own space. I wanted our week to be special but also intimate. I wanted luxury but also the feeling of a home away from home. From the moment I contacted Shayne about this property I was well cared for. They worked with me on our dates, our needs, our special requests. They went so far above and beyond to make this work for our wedding week that I truly can't write enough to describe it. The staff was welcoming, accommodating, and kind. Over the course of our seven days there they became like members of our family. From the top-notch meals to the smiles, to the surprise party our last night there, no detail was overlooked. I had 17 people to make happy, ranging in age from one year to 72 and not a single one wasn't cared for. Despite their different needs the staff made everyone feel special. The property is located half a block from the beach, next door to a fabulous massage place and coffee shop, and just a few blocks from the market. It is private yet welcoming. We truly loved every minute of our time there and can't recommend it enough. I almost put one star simply to make it easier for us to stay there in the future because with so many great reviews it will be hard to reserve it again. We will be back.

Loved this casita!
Ana was phenomenal - we were amazed by her efficiency in the kitchen and the delicious results. The shrimp ceviche was sabrosisimo. Only three days were available at the casita during the weeks we were in the area so we will need to return for a longer stay in order to try more of Ana's specialties. The home appealed to us aesthetically as well as for comfort. We loved the dishes, wooden furniture and bedding. The Mexican star-shaped light fixtures that everyone loves are inside and out. It's really so beautifully decorated and has inspired us with ideas to take home. The pool was a great size, plenty of room for the six of us to swim around. We relished having our own private swimming spot for our stay in Bucerias - it was very hot. Although the beach is a minute's walk away, the temptation of jumping into your own pool without a thought made us a bit lazy. We will be back!
This home can comfortably sleep three couples, and children can sleep in the two twins in the lofts above each king bed. There are two bathrooms, so sharing is required. Dining table inside and one outside with seats for all.
Shopping note: there is decent souvenir shopping along Cardenas all the way to the Centro. We found the prices better here than in PV. Bought some nice pottery from the shop right before the bridge and some silver from Marcelino on the beach. He has items with the sterling stamp and let me know which of his items were alpaca.

A Little Piece of Paradise!
This was our second stay in the Casita & we will most definitely be back! Shayne was quick to reply when we requested info and booking was a breeze. When we arrived at the Casita we were greeted with a warm welcome from Alejandro, a familiar face from when we stayed at the Villa. Ana is an amazing cook, and she takes such good care of us while we're staying in Bucerias. I really can't say enough about the great people that Boutique Villas employs, they help make your vacation.
The property is wonderful! The location of the Casita is perfect, a short block to the beach & the market is just down the street. There are excellent dining options close by for when Ana has her day off. The property is very secure & safe, well maintained and private. Having your own pool is probably one of the best parts, lots of space to relax & unwind. The beds are incredibly comfortable & clean. The rooms are spacious, it is nice to have a living room. Dining out on the patio is a treat.
It is always hard coming back to reality after a stay with Boutique Villas! We will continue staying with them in the future, and can't wait to come back!

Lovely, comfortable, relaxing
Great location, fantastic staff (Anita), comfy beds, fantastic kitchen, great patio and pool: it's all good. Ask Anita to make her birria (which is not on the overly Tex-Mexed suggested menu).

Fabulous family vacation!
We had such a great time staying at the Casita! The home was even more beautiful than the photos. The pool and ability to have delicious meals at home was a perfect fit for our family with 4 kids under 7. We loved, loved, loved Ana & Liz! They provided great meals and kept the home spotless. We only wished they could have come home with us and become a part of our family. The location was great, close to beach, taxi stop, and restaurant. My only warning would be that when arriving 3/3 taxi drivers were unable to find with use of the address only. Follow the directions given and make sure to tell them it's right by Karen's Place.
We hope to be back soon!

Beautiful house in the perfect location!
We booked our trip several months before arriving and worked with Shayne to finalize the arrangements. Ana met us when we arrived. The house was beautiful, just like in the pictures. Ana took great care of us and the house during our stay. She was super nice and an incredible cook. We spent the first two days just hanging out around the house. With the pool, comfortable home, and Ana there was not really any reason to go out. Bucerias was a relatively quiet town with beautiful beaches. There were other tourists, little stores and restaurants around but the town was not too busy to ruin the relaxing atmosphere. The house was 30 minutes to Punta Mita, Sayulita, and Puerto Vallarta. Perfect location. I cant say enough about how amazing the house and staff was as well as the town. Will definitely be back. Thank you Shayne and Ana!

Serenity at its best!!! Perfect Location
Hands down this is the best places I've stayed in Mexico (and that's saying a lot since my family and I travel all over the cost of Mexico including Baja).
Starting with the home. Location is on point! You're one (1) SMALL block from the sand (seriously its like 50 yards). You are also within walking distance to about 10 restaurants. The best paddle board shop is also 50 yards south of the house (Pacific Paddle). Yes, the home is technically on a main street... BUT it’s a very narrow street and there are speed bumps all along the street so the average speed is like 10 km/hr (5-7 mph). Also, the house is completely surrounded on all 4 sides by 5 meter tall walls so it serves as a really good sound buffer and obviously privacy. As for security, seriously you couldn't feel safer. It’s a small beach town with tons of fun, lovely hard working people. I traveled with my pregnant wife and 3 children (all under the age of 6) and not once in my 12 day stay did I feel uncomfortable or unsecure. Twice we left the key on the entrance door and once we left the entrance door wide open the entire night.... That's how safe you will feel when you are there.. Its all about enjoying life and taking time away from reality :) ... full-heartedly I can tell you that you will not regret your stay at this home! The pictures don’t do justice. The home is fully stocked with EVERYTHING you can possibly need, there are more than enough clean sheets and fresh towels than you can possibly use. Best of all the maid (Vidy) makes the beds every morning, cleans, mops and keeps the home spotless! She is freaking awesome and hard working. She did not skip a beat. The pool and outdoor space is large, clean, with plenty of shade to just sit around, drinking and pray to God that it never ends!
Okay as for the service.... As if the house itself hasn't sold you yet!?!?
ANA, yes ANA.... She puts most chefs and cooks to shame! I can’t talk highly enough about her. Name it, she can cook it, better than you or I can. Her food was superior then most restaurants we eat at. Her salsa and home made tortillas are to die for… Yes we wanted to bring her home with us!
Arturo (the property manager) is professional, easy to get a hold of and makes sure that your experience surpasses your expectations... and they did.
Thank you Arturo for everything! God willing we will see you guys soon.

Beautiful Casita Camino Al Mar
Casita Camino al Mar was more than we expected. At our arrival we were greeted by Ana, who was a big part of the success of our trip, with margaritas, salsa, nachos, etc. When we entered the house the first thing that strike me was the wonderful clean smell of the house; than it was the size of the place, as it was bigger than it seemed in the pictures. The pool of course was beautiful. There's was a little glitch with the pool but the manager, Shayne, was very prompt and efficient in correcting the situation. The house is so very beautiful and quiet, very restful. Ana is the best cook ever!! She cooked for us most breakfasts and dinners, even though sometimes we wanted to experience the nearby restaurants and we also took off one or twice to Puerto Vallarta, where there too, the restaurants are excellent. There is plenty of towels and bed sheets, all very good quality and there was shampoo, conditioner, body soap, etc. which was appreciated especially on the day of arrival.
Everyone at the house (Manager Shayne, Ana, Alejandro, Denise) offered a top notch service and were always there to suggest restaurants, places to visit, and help us when we needed. We were pleasantly surprised with everyone's attitude and wonderful personality, from the taxi drivers (across the street from the house), to restaurant staff, esthetician , etc.
Bucerias is so very safe and beautiful; we never felt uncomfortable to walk around town. The beach is very nice and the scenery is beautiful. We were there in August so it was pretty hot and humid, but as soon as you were close to the beach there was a nice breeze that made it comfortable. The house is nicely located close to everything but just far enough from the hustle and bustle of the all-inclusive compound. All in all we have found memories of Casita Camino al Mar and all the people that made our vacation a great success. Thank you Ana and Shayne and keep up the good work.

Casita Camino al Mar was everything described and more . We loved everything about it . Plenty to do or just can sit back and relax . Ana was amazing ! We had planned on venturing out to eat but nothing could beat Ana's food and hospitality . Would like to thank Shayne as well for all her tips and making the entire process so easy . My family cannot wait to return ! What a gem .

Best Vacation Ever!
We just returned from a week's stay in Bucerias - renting both the Casita and Hacienda Al Mar for 16 adults and 4 children - best vacation ever! The connection between the two houses easy and welcoming to move back and forth if the doors are open. Speaking specifically about the Casita, we loved it! If we came back with a smaller group, we would choose the Casita to stay. There is a large covered "shady" area around the pool, allowing for plenty of room to get out of the sun, but still enjoy the outside area. The interior decorating is fantastic - from the lighting to the bedding - all beautifully chosen and extremely comfortable. The best part of our trip was the assistance given by the staff at the houses - Ana, who works at the Casita, was delightful! She also assisted Denise and Angela in making all of our meals, which were delicious! We were steps to the beautiful beach on a quiet, traffic-free street. There was plenty to "do", including a wealth of delicious restaurants nearby. We could not have felt more pampered in any other setting and everyone agreed they would love to return!

Amazing time - such a special place!
This house is just beautiful - wonderfully decorated with such attention to detail. The pool is amazing - our kids loved it. The house is in a great location - we enjoyed the very short walk to the beach and felt very safe there. Our older kids enjoyed going exploring the area themselves and had fun getting a smoothie at the restaurant across the street. Ana is the best cook! Everything is made from scratch and is so amazing! We only ate out once or twice because her meals were better than anything we could buy. Angela was so helpful and kept the house spotless. Everything about our experience in the house went smoothly and we look forward to returning soon!

Very Impressed
This was our first time at Casita Camino al Mar. We had stayed next door at the Hacienda before and have a great time, so this year try the Casita. We were NOT disappointed. Its very large for a three bedroom. The staff, Anna and Angela are the best. we tied Anna'a Ribs and even Hamburgers for a change from Mexican food, and they were the best. You will really enjoy Anna's cooking. Angela keeps the Casita really clean. we even checked the corners, and they were spotless. she is quick and thorough. The two work well together. The pool in the back and the surrounding landscaping look professional, and the up-keep terrific. The day we arrived, the pool guy came to check the pool and to clean it. The Casita is on a quiet street in a growing town. We were also excited about the many art galleries within walking distance and the great restaurant selections for when Anna is off, Sunday's. The town offers lots to see and enjoy. The beach, one block away, is quiet and peaceful, with very few vendors, and you can walk for miles. All in all, this place was just what we needed. We had two couples sharing the casita, and thought we had died and gone to heaven. All you really HAD to do was relax, the rest was just enjoyment. You will not go wrong with a visit to this place.

Private Refuge/Sanctuary!!
Six of us stayed at this secluded casita for a week. We were there to celebrate a wedding and two birthdays. Our rooms were the ideal size and comfortable. We loved the poolside daily for appy's and happy hour. We felt pampered with our lovely housekeepers/cooks!! Liz and Ana are very sweet and lovely. The location is close to some very good restaurants and the beach. We highly recommend Mark's Bar and Grill. We also enjoyed dinners at Adauto's on The Beach and Restaurant Ixta. We took the bus into La Cruz on Sunday for the market at the marina and enjoyed Oso's Oyster Bar for lunch. We would definitely recommend this property and would love to stay again in the near future

Excellent Vacation
We had a spectacular vacation at your villa. The staff was excellent and made us feel at home. We arrived to a pitcher of freshly squeezed lime Margaritas, tortilla chips, fresh guacamole and salsa.
The villa was well appointed, comfortable and the outdoor pool and patio was a excellent place to sit, relax and soak up the sun. The beach was very close and we had a great time lying on the beach or riding the waves with the Villa's boogey boards.
Excellent restaurants were close by if you wanted to go out for dinner and we had a great 50th dinner party at Mark's which is just up the road. There was no need to go out for dinner as Ana's fresh Mahi Mahi (dorado) was better than what we had at another restaurant.
Thanks again for the excellent vacation and we hope to come back again in the future.

Best Vacation
When we arrived (all six of us) we were met by Denise, who had appetizers waiting for us, along with cold beer and margaritas (for the adults of course). A vacation doesn't get much better than this when you have twin 6 month old babies and a six year. The three rooms allowed us to spread out and relax, and the pool was perfect. The beach is only a block away for walks, etc. They even arranged a car to pick us up at the airport and Denise did all the shopping negating the need to rent a car.
Would HIGHLY recommend this Villa, but be warned once you vacation like this you will be spoiled.
