All the hotel, facilities and employee are very good, a place with a lot of charm.
Also the situation is good, because you are not in a tourist place, but you stay close from the main point of interest.
There is also 2 very nice local restaurant at 1minute walk.
I highly recommand this hotel.
The only point that was bad for me, but very bad was the room.
We had only one very little window in the room and the room was just near the reception and the entry of the hotel. Then everybody walks in front of the room and the window that you will then close.
Then you live in a "blind" room, and it feel like the "concierge" room. In France, blind room is something not acceptable. Or maybe they could provide some medium transparent stores, then we could have some privacy and some exterior light.
It was a superior room, but really feels like a standard room.
For me, this room should only be rented for kids or should not be rented.
Even if the hotel was perfect, the room stays an important part of the experience, and the room offers a very poor experience.
But the quality of the rest balance it.

The fridge in the room was not cold enough and an ice box would be useful for cold drinks.

Everything from the breakfast to the staff to the views were wonderful. It was too chilly for us to enjoy the pool, but it looked incredible and relaxing. Our room was on the smaller side, but we still had plenty of room to unpack a little and enjoy ourselves. We enjoyed being in the town of Spilia as it was quiet and charming. The Villa itself was beautiful and charming.

The hotel is stunning. The villa was lovely, however the room and swimming pool was a lot smaller than expected, there was a lot of space joined on that was locked shame as if that was part of the villa would have made it a decent size. We expected a little more facilties in the villa also. The bed was so comfy. The cleaners came every other day which was very nice. And the pool and pool area were also cleaned. The receptionist, Artenis (I believe this was her name) was fantastic. In fact thanks to her it made our stay much more enjoyable. She was very helpful. The pool in the hotel area was also lovely. The breakfast was amazing. Lovely taverna round the corner.
We were told as soon as we arrived we were out of season, by about 1 or 2 weeks. In knowing this we expected things to be slightly slower. What we didn't expect was that the 2 nights we ate dinner at the hotel restaurant would be as bad as it was. The food didn't have any taste (which was a shame as the breakfast was so lovely) the service was ridiculously slow (both times waited 20 minutes just to order a drink) and on one occasion our starter and main came out all at the same time, both cold. Wouldn't have minded but there were 2 staff members and only 4 tables of people in the restaurant which to me seemed unnecessary for it to be so slow. The manager didn't even apologise. Thankfully we had the taverna around the corner.
We were aware that the villas weren't joined to the hotel, what we didn't know what that you had to walk up 3 pretty steep hills to get to them from the hotel. Being 7 months pregnant was difficult also elderly or disabled would be incredibly difficult.

Big and comfortable bed. Big and clean room. Hotel in a traditional village very remote and quiet good place for peace and relaxation with a lovely pool space and restaurant/ bar. Nice staff. Good food.

Too bad that it's such a nice complex of buildings on the outside. I suppose it had some nice days, but they are definitely over.
Worst experience in Crete so far. We booked a suite. We were given a room that had an intense smell of sewage, was only superficially clean, with dirty, stained sofas, with a balcony on the street, with view on the street, no internet connection and no reception to even use our own data. When we expressed our disappointment at the reception, the receptionist, a very stiff woman, just focused on the internet connection, as if everything else was just normal. She mentioned that not everyone is meant to have a nice view. When we said that we paid extra to get the suite and not just the basic room, she said that "a suite is the room that sleeps more than two people" and that's it. We were two people, why would we pay the extra money to have an extra lousy, dirty sofa bed? And when we commented that anyway, at least a suite or any room in a "boutique" hotel should be clean and not smell of sewage, she said that they couldn't do anything about it. She didn't even offer any options, any complementary, an apology or anything. Well, that's a nice attitude! And a bad hotel to spend your money at. Even the breakfast was on the cheap, low quality side.

Beautiful property in a traditional village, away from the hustle and bustle. Extremely friendly and helpful staff, lovely breakfast. Perfect sized family room. Precisely located for us to tour the West side of the island. Thank you Spilia Village Hotel and Villas for our perfect stay.

Lovely villa, great breakfast with unusual food on offer. We had our own private pool which was great. The airconditioning was very welcoming in the heat.
The three bedroom villas were described on the website as having a double and two twins, but we had three double bedrooms which meant my adult daughter had to sleep on an uncomfortable sofa bed

beautifully done restoration of an old property
a little too far from the beaches - no public services , so constrained to use taxis which were not so cheap !

We really loved this property. We stayed in a two bedroom villa with sharing pool. The villa was beautiful, very clean, very comfortable, very spacious and the air conditioning worked great. Sharing pool was a fantastic place to cool off in at the end of the day. The staff was so friendly - especially the guys working the restaurant area. It was a great location for us (a family of 4) to base out of to explore the region. The village was very charming and we loved the restaurant right in the village.
Only improvement would be to have a few more kitchen amenities available in the Villa - paper towel, salt, pepper, oil would be nice to have on site. Also there were a lot of ants by the pool - hard to keep up with I'm sure, but maintenance should consider spraying for the ants daily.

The staff was very careful to all our needs. They were extraordinary friendly and made our stay a beautiful experience.
The variety of food choices especially at dinner when you are vegetarian or vegan could be improved. Also a coffee machine which prepares a cappuccino with fresh milk (even oat) would make the breakfast even more enjoyable.

The location was very picturesque and quiet. The pool and the hotel was of such a high standard. The hotel also had some lovely tavernas in the local village

The old stone buildings, the former olive oil factory turned dining room with huge stone arches, the friendly staff, the food, the pool, the pretty village and surrounding olive orchards. The superior room had 2 balconies, one facing the olive trees.
The beautiful pool is unheated so either heating it or adding a hot tub for the off season would be a wonderful addition)

Perfect retreat!

It is a good decent hotel in a village with an easy to reach location. The bed is very comfortable and breakfast is abundant. According to the good reviews I think I expected more.
I think you should take care of the cats at the breakfast area as it gets frustrating for everyone to constantly keep an eye on them.
Another thing, I could not understand the purpose of requesting a credit card info as there was nothing special in our room, moreover it was kind of disturbing to ask me complete the check-in info in advance.
It is a good place, don't get me wrong, but I could have felt more comfortable not to be bothered to do the job of the receptionist.

Great location. Attentive staff. Good equipped kitchen .
We stay in the villa Thalia. Sometimes we had an issue with communication . English was not perfect . Pool was dirty . Should be cleaned better . Pillows are not comfortable. Hard to sleep on upper beds as aircons are cooling only downstairs space . There are strange green KED lights fire lights in each bedroom. Never seen such a thing before . It does not help to sleep as there is no possibility to switch them off.
