The smell of both rooms were overpowering. I nor my friend would not stay again or recommend.

Convenient location to Great Western Hotel, shower was hot, bed was comfy, if you could sleep for the overwhelming musty smell of the rooms.

Both rooms allotted to me were so digustingly smelly, either from previous overflow of spas, or water damage of some sort. The smell was so bad I used the bath salts supplied for the spa as an air freshner put by the bed as I felt I couldn't breathe, the smell was overwhelming. Whilst the concept of old worlde charm decor was delightful, the furniture, carpet, drapes etc. were very musty smelling, adding to the overall smell and in need of a good airing and clean.

A nice trip back in time.

Beautiful heritage listed hotel with period rooms. The bed was quite comfortable and spacious, and the spa bath was a nice touch. Reception was friendly and the check-in and check-out process were very easy. Property is directly across the road from an awesome pub with bullriding!

TV was quite old and not many of the channels worked, and we also couldn't connect our Chromecast to it. Wish they had different pillows as the ones we had in our room were a bit too soft. It can get quite loud as the hotel is located near train tracks.

Overall it was a great stay for a couple of nights.

All the Antique furniture and the way it was laid out. And loved the chandelier lights.

Didn't like the fact there were snacks on the table you had to pay for and drinks in the fridge you had to pay for I think if you are going to stock up on food and drinks like that it should be complimentary. Also I did bring some of my own food and really needed a microwave to heat up a few things.

It felt very opulent!

Beds were comfy and the room was well stocked with food and drink from the mini bar

There was a freight train that went through once in the evening and once in the morning. It would be good to know that we were so close to the train and have a heads up on the time it was going to come through. Its only a 5-10 minute disruption and it would not stop me staying there again.

Denison Hotel

Comfortable bed, good continental breakfast. Lovely heritage listed building with soaring ceilings. Staff were very pleasant.

The room smelt very musty and dank, I guess from the heavy draperies over the windows and four poster bed. It set off my hayfever quite badly. However it was good to have stayed there for the appreciation of a beautiful old building.

Big size room, good aircon

Bathroom was in the bedroom area and wasn't in its own location, bed was worn out and hard to sleep in train constantly going past at all hours

Glad I experienced the venue, but I won't stay again

The room had a quaintness about it.

The lighting in the room was poor. Bedside reading very dull. The room needed to be aired with fresh air to get rid of the stale and slightly mouldy smell. The noise from the Great Western Hotel over the road on one of the evenings was disturbing for sleep. Even though it is a no smoking hotel, there was a strong smell of cigarette odour in the room. The Pot-pouri was a very strong smell that was irritating to my sinuses.

Beautiful room with heritage decor, very clean and comfortable

Beautiful room, spotlessly clean and very comfortable, love the heritage building and decor, it felt like we were transported back in time. We have stayed here before and will definitely stay here again next time we’re in Rockhampton.
