Jaime and his family are the kindest and nicest people! They made me feel right at home and often stopped by my room to see how I was and just chat with me and always asked if I needed anything. Jaime came and got me when there was a sloth sighting on the property and his excitement for nature is really endearing. The wildlife spotting opportunities are excellent and you really feel like you’re getting up close with the biodiversity of the Amazon!

Tambopata is the perfect place to go if you need to unplug. Away from town, with a river view.

I really loved this stay, being in the middle of the jungle and experiencing all of that was amazing 🤩

Reinso is wery good man. If it is necessary he has a neighborow friend Richard speaking english who is helpfully in everythings. They managed our tours to the jungle. We saw houndreds of parots, kapibaras, caimans ..,.only no one monkey ( problém in season).
We recomded it. Jelp them in crisys (2 year covid and polotical situation - horrible)

It was adequate but not more than that. Take the breakfasts. You had to be down between 8am and 8.15am - hardly an extensive time choice when you're on holiday. If you weren't there on time, your breakfast was, so it was cold by the time you arrived.
The room was adequate but we hardly felt we were in the middle of the jungle because it was near a bar and we could hear the sounds from that.
The location was neither in the middle of the jungle nor in the middle of the town, so it wasn't really like being in the jungle, which is what we'd hoped. You'd be better off being right in the jungle or being near the town, with its facilities. The one trip we took into the jungle involved us going taking a taxi into the town to pick up a boat!

The space between each villa was good. Very friendly staff.
Being out of walking distance to main town area can add to cost for a taxi.

The service was excellent and Miluska, who is in charge of the accommodation, very friendly and willing to help. Breakfast and dinner were rich and delicious, definitely the best meals we ate on our entire trip. Also the location was beautiful as the accommodations are right on the river and surrounded by colorful plants.

Nice location by the river; nice owner / staff always helping arranging tours and trips; cosy bungalows. Great for socialising as guests have dinner at the same time at the same table.
Occasional bugs in the bungalow; bit outside the city, neighbourhood not walkable.

The best views. Bungalow are situated exactly near the river. Jaime is an amazing host, very helpful and friendly :)

This was the highlight of my trip! There is nothing better than being engulfed by nature in the jungle! The staff was very pleasant and the food was great! I got to see many creatures while there!!
Nothing, the bugs maybe, but that's jungle life!

Staying at Tambopata was a wonderful experience. The bungalow windows have netting to keep out all the bugs. In the bungalows, you also get a great view of the river and you can hear the birds of the forest. The showers only had cold water, but that wasn't a big issue for me because the weather is so hot. My bungalow also had excellent wi-fi. The bungalow rooms were cleaned every day.
I was able to book tours very easily through Jaime, the hotel owner. My group got to see the Caiman alligators, Lake Sandoval, the Macaw Clay Lick, and the Amazon animal refuge (highly recommend this experience). Jaime took care of all the tour logistics on very short notice. I was so impressed because the tours require you to take taxis and get on and off multiple boats. Jaime let us pay for all the tours at the end of our stay with a credit card. The tour prices were very fair.
We ate our meals at the hotel. Jaime's family prepared excellent food. The family gave us a variety of dishes. They had fresh fish, fresh chicken, and they even had excellent vegetarian options. One of my favorite parts of my trip to Puerto Maldonado was the food at this hotel.
The hotel is a little far from the downtown area of Puerto Maldonado so you might feel a little secluded. However, this wasn't a big deal since my group came to Puerto Maldonado to see the forest, not the town. There is only one nearby restaurant, which is a 5 minute walk away.

Very good dinner (family style) rich and nutrious.
Nice lodge (comfort of lodge in jungle)
Cabins to be refurbished. Add hot water.

The owner Roland is very nice and helpful.
first of all, no hot water and no wifi although they claim the have, but wifi only exist in dinning hall.
secondly, it’s too noisy during the night, dog barking, roosters screaming…and a lot unknown loud sounds, can’t really sleep. If you don’t mind all the above, then you will be fine. booked for three nights only stayed for one.

You are in real jungle. View from bungalow to the river. Breakfast that brings to the bungalow
In google maps and in reality different location, gate to the hotel is closed. You need to use entrance of another hotel.
Drunken owners and impossible in such situation to find someone from the staff.

Jaime and Roland who ran the lodge are extremely nice people. Roland is a trained jungle guide and arranged various trips for me at short notice. I enjoyed my stay and was very sad to leave. The wildlife is everywhere in that area. Had a great stay
There wasn't anything I didn't like apart from certain noises from the jungle at night. However thats what makes the place. Saw many sloths and monkeys at night from my patio....eventually I got used to the night time cacophony.

really nice spot next to the river. wonderful nature all around and far away enough from town to be quiet. clean and comfortable facilities. the staff were kind and helpful and the food was good. I came looking to connect to the rainforest. there are some good opportunities nearby.
they threw an obnoxiously loud party one night and neglected to tell me about it. for 9 hours right past midnight, not 50 meters from my lodge. I could hear it all over the resort. earplugs did nothing. I came here for quiet and to not even be told that was happening was insulting. the lodges are very close together so if anyone is being loud or playing music you can’t escape it. the drinks they served gave me diarrhea.

Way better than expected! Got picked up from the bus station as early as 7 in the morning and dropped off at that beautiful and unique place. We could already check in and get our lodge that early and got a lovely and homemade breakfast from the owner. He and his family were incredibly sweet and welcoming, he was happy to help around the clock with whatever we needed - be it a ride from the town, a dinner or any other issues. The food was incredible!! The owner got out of his way to show us animals in the area and teach us a lot about the rainforest. He would organise amazing tours through the jungle and drove us there and picked us up again. The lodge itself is super clean, beautifully equipped and located right next to the river with an insane view. We stayed 3 nights more than originally planned and were heartbroken ro leave. Will come back any time!
There was absolutely nothing we didn't like. It was wonderful.. Will come back at any time.

The accommodation was amazing. We had our own lodge with a veranda and a garden overlooking the river. You really are in the jungle. The food was excellent. There were eggs for breakfast and we had chicken or fish for dinner. The owner arranged a program with an English interpretation. The owner speaks excellent English and was very helpful.

If you are a nature fan, you will love this place. View on the river, possiblity to arrange plenty of trips in the area.
Bungalow and dining area are in disrepair. Our bungalow was not clean when we arrived (left overs from previous guests, dust, spider webs). We had to ask for a second cleaning. It is quite remote as well. Due to the lack of cleanliness and the condition of the bungalow we didn't really feel comfortable. A pity, you can make this place nice if you want to.

The owner is an amazing host. He is incredibly intelligent and always comes to get you if there's a sloth or a porcupine in a tree. He is super in tune with the environment and knows plants and has a deep knowledge of the animals, as he majored in college to study birds. He can take you on a bird walk and help you get aquanted with the things to do in the area. The place is delightfully away from town and he has his own tuktuk to drive you if you request ahead of time.
His breakfasts are amazing 😍. He makes huge meals and will also offer lunch and dinner at a cost.
He loves animals and the environment and is conscious. He has a beautiful family. A Monkey lives on site and might come sit in your lap if your lucky!
The houses were super amazing. So beautiful of a location. What wasn't as ideal was there were fleas in the bed and mold on the curtains. I'm not super sure how these things could be avoided completely and I don't blame the host for this. It is the middle of the forest. There was lots of fresh air with the Curtains up, and we only got bit my a few fleas inside our bug nets!

My boyfriend and I loved our stay at Tambopata river. Roland was super nice and helpfull with arranging all the nature trips we wanted; visit to the lokal refuge center, caiman spotting and trip to lago sandoval. The bungalows are lovely placed right down to the river with amazing jungle sounds in the night. All meals was served at our private balcony and they were absolutely delicious with great variation. Roland and his family was also great at handeling the coronavirus by alwas wearing masks and keeping everything nice and clean. We would highly recommend everyone who is going the region to stay with them - the value for money is amazing!

To many mosquitos I had to take cortisone.

Besides the nice area with abundant nature, we spend a great time with the spider monkey, dogs and puppies. The room was comfortable and very fresh.

The location is beautiful, by the river. Free pick up from the bus station, we arrived at 8am and waited for our room and breakfast for no extra charge. Perfect behavior, friendly and helpful. Really rare people. Thanks!
The bathroom was not clean.

This place was an experience. It was not just a place to stay. The cottages are in the jungle. There are great possibilities of seeing animals. There is always a possibility of seeing monkey. There are lots of animals and birds. The staff is very helpful in arranging tours...like a jungle walk or a river tour. You get a lot of nature.
It is impossible to control the humidity. It is kind of peculiar.
