Amazing view

Amazing view, friendly service.

The restaurant is nice (the view is amazing), but we expected more considering the level of the hotel in terms of variety and quantity.

Basic three star hotel, with no frills.

The hotel is located in the middle of nowhere, with nice beaches and small restaurants less then a 15 minute drive away. The staff was very kind. The pool was appreciated. The terrace view is lovely.

This property is Basic. I would say a low three star at best, which makes the price not really comparable with the actual place. the apartments are NOT soundproof in the slightest. You can hear everything ok the surrounding steps to the pool as if it is in the room with you. The breakfast was awful. Lot’s of sugary junk food and not very much fresh stuff.

Very nice choice for a couple or small family

Helpfulness of the staff, location, pool area, restaurant cooking

Breakfast was only ok-ish. Especially the beverages were below par, from a limited choice of teas to horrible artificial "juices" to instant coffee. They did fire up the espresso machine for us but that took ages.

Very good

Location. Very clean, wonderful staff. Very comfortable bed with nice sheets. Hood pool area with good sweating and plants. Good coffee.

Very small shower unit that soaked the bathroom floor. The fridge had to be unplugged to plug in the kettle...pluss were hard to remove and the socket was in such an awkward position that you banget your head on the cupboard above. We had a lovely large balcony but couldn't see out because of the large tree (246).

Exceptional

Fantastic location with the perfect view! Just a 5 min drive from Palekastro. The staff we’re friendly and the breakfast good. I would recommend to eat here in the evening some times as the food was excellent and very good value as are all the Tavernas and restaurants we went to. The pool area was nice with an amazing view. Overall the place and the whole island have that lovely laid back and relaxed feel and the locals seem genuinely friendly. We will be back for sure.

No GYM, but I’m just not picking as I like to workout in the mornings!

Would stay here again - for the location and the view.

The adult-sized bed was super comfy (the child's twin was too firm for an adult sized-person.) The location was spectacular (easy access to Vai and the little town nearby). The staff was incredibly friendly and accommodating. The view was wonderful. We would have stayed longer if our trip permitted it. The pool was lovely and we had a refreshing swim while there. Free parking is a huge plus, and wifi too.

This seems to be a persistent problem in Greece (we've been here a month) so this is not unique to this property, but there were several large insects in the room when we arrived. My son is vegan and is always looking for locations with vegan food options, this location did not have many vegan or vegetarian selections in their restaurant.

Castri Village Hotel is a nice little resort on a beautiful location and with friendly staff.

Beautiful location and great view over the landscape and sea. Room was nicely made every day. Very clean. Staff was friendly but maybe a bit tired after a long season.

Breakfast was below expectations: no variation, quite limited and often something was missing like croissants, bread or eggs. Bacon was sub par, swimming in water. Restaurant closed its doors without any warning after couple of days (off-season they said, first week of October) so no opportunity to have dinner at location. Room appliences have had their better days already.

We stayed at this hotel for one night, due to location, next day plan was Vai beach and reach it from Castri hotel takes 8 minutes. The view from hotel is wonderful it is located on the mountain, has a pool and breakfast is wonderfull.

The first thing was smell in the room, not sure from where it comes, but it was terrible, as I mentio ed, we had to stay there for one night, that saved us. Also the interior, looks like everything was done 50years ago, we didn’t had light in shower.

Everything was great, we used the pool after our check-in and the view was amazing! Our room was very clean and comfortable with an external space very useful. We eat in the hotel restaurant and it was great with typical food and dishes very tasty!

stunning views, we wished we could have stayed more than one night

stunning views of the bay and surrounding mountains. nice big pool. extremely friendly and helpful staff. great balconies. rooms arranged 2-3 within traditional ‘Cretan’ style village layout. extensive breakfast. B&B very good value for money.

almost nothing…. is a very steep drive up so we were glad we had a car. plenty of parking. you get good at hill starts ! if I was being very fussy bathrooms were cozy but were clean and functional.

Great staff and friendly atmosphere. Kid friendly and nice small rooftop pool (not so much shade as only a few umbrellas but still nice). Free parking near by. Good internet. Beachfront. Nice rooftop bar. Rooms fairly basic but fine.

Amazing !!

The property was so beautiful! And our hotel room had an amazing view of the ocean. We loved this place ! And can’t wait to come back again ! The family who owns the hotel we’re so incredible! the first night we had dinner the owners son served us and went above and beyond for our food and drinks. Exceptional service from everyone. I highly recommend staying here. It’s also 7 mins away from Vai beach. Thank you so much for making our stay so special ❤️

First time in Crete

Location - the only reason it does not have top marks is also the location as the village is built on a very steep incline which gives it spectacular views but if you do not like steps or steep hills then this would be a problem.

Personally - nothing. For us it was perfect.

Calm and relaxing with impressive view

Fantastic sea view from the verandas of the rooms. You can park the car right in front of the houses. The hotel is like a small village on the hill with a steep 'main road' which leads to the houses with the rooms. The pool is also very nice with a beautiful view to the coast line and the sea.

Staff at front desk could have been more friendly and attentive.
