We had an amazing time in Londonderry, enjoying this very well-appointed cabin (with comfy beds!), private yard and fire pit, and the deck that overlooked the West River…peaceful, yet very close to necessities and a weekend farmer’s market! Patty was super responsive and we appreciated the pet-friendly accommodations! Would recommend highly for a summertime retreat!

The festive decorations upon arrival were a really nice way to be greeted. We really enjoyed the fireplace insert and the plentiful supply of wood.

West River Lodge is conveniently located close to multiple state parks that offer hiking options. Nestled in the mountains, it’s close to multiple ski resorts. It offers an authentic cabin experience, decorated with an historical touch including the wood burning stone fireplace. The kitchen is efficient and well-stocked. The serene view of the river from the deck is an extra delight, in addition to the large fire pit in the back. Manchester is a scenic 15 minute drive if you are looking for more shopping and restaurant options but the local spots are worth exploring.

The cabin was well appointed and clean with comfy sofas and beds. Interior design was quirky and fun giving it a cheery tone. Wifi was strong and stable with plenty of places to stream/work/game. Very conveniently located about 20 mins from Manchester and Ludlow right on Rt100. The convenience came with the slight price of traffic noise which I imagine is not that bad normally, but there is a ton of road reconstruction happening due to the storm so heavy equipment was frequently passing. Great supermarket just around the corner made supplying our stay a cinch. Check out Lowell Lake for a spur of the moment hike just 2 miles away. Overall a fantastic location for basing an exploration of VT.

The location and town is lovely. Everything you need is right down the street. Tons of awesome swimming holes and hiking/fish spots all within 20+ miles away. The cottage itself is terrific and has everything that you could need. Clean, spacious kitchen and living/dining room. Nice yard with a great firepit area. Secluded deck with a grill. Cozy bedrooms and a nice bathroom/shower. Plenty of privacy and overall great cottage and place to go for a relaxing and fun weekend getaway. 5/5 would recommend!

We had a great stay at the cabin. It was conveniently located to all the activities we had planned, and when we were at the cabin, we enjoyed relaxing by the firepit and on the deck!

We were delighted with the cabin. Great location, inside was decorated delightfully and very quiet inside. Although we did not use the fire-pit, it looks awesome. So many places to hike near by. If your looking for that Vermont feel vacation this is your place. ❤️

This place was great. We were very comfortable there. We really enjoyed the location of the cabin. Perfect for little day jaunts and then we would come home and cook a nice dinner and relax. Super convenient with a great grocery store less than a .5 mile. The internet worked great. We all slept like rocks with the crisp air coming in from outside. The kitchen was well equipped. The beds were very, very comfortable. Everything worked. A few things that could be improved upon which are completely our personal preference. We think some new linens would be nice. Also, the pots could use an upgrade and the knives could use sharpening. While the Christmas decorations were charming, it was August....so it might have been nice to not have the Christmas trees up and the Christmas hand towels and let's just say there was a lot of Christmas. The cabin was clean, but could use a deep clean because when you had to plug something in there was a lot of dust bunnies in the corners or if you looked closely and the freezer was not the cleanest when we got there (maybe from needing to keep the compost in there?). The driveway is very steep and washed out due to recent rain storms so we were glad we had 4WD. Also - the one bathroom on the first floor is very far from the other two bedrooms that are upstairs and the stairs are steep. So that isn't the best to navigate at night. A 1/2 bath upstairs would really take this place to the next level. We were with friends who we are very close with so one bathroom was OK, but a 1/2 bath upstairs and an outdoor shower would be awesome upgrades. The most relaxing trip we have had in while. Thank you so much!

First time in VT, the whole experience great, the house is easy to locate on route 100 right next to the river, very close to a grocery store, hardware store, gas station and many other places. We enjoy making s’mores, cooking, warming up on with the fireplace at night... loved the mornings seating in the front porch drinking coffee and relaxing to the sound of the river right in front of us.
The kids had a blast just running around, eating, playin with our dog.
We visited some local farms, country stores, went fishing on Lowell lake (do not follow GPS-ask a local), drove to Woodstock and Manchester just to see, the scenic routes are lovely.
Overall a place to go and relax, the house has everything you need for that and more. Will come back!!!

Wonderful cabin
This place was a charm! My kids had a blast running around the house, we went fishing on the lake, we checked the river across the street, visit some farms, country stores, etc.
Plenty of stuff to do, s’mores at night.
The house was very clean when we arrived, host provided everything we needed for our stay. All appliances were working, plenty of fire wood to burn too. We will definitely come back some time in the near future, we loved the house, enjoy Vermont in general.

Everything was great. It was to bad about the dish washer but there was nothing to be done about that. The part arrived on Monday and was quickly repaired. It was very hard to wash the dishes because there was no hot water and no water pressure at the kitchen sink. The home was very quiet and we had a good rest. We can’t wait to return!

This sweet little cabin was perfect for our Pandemic birthday getaway. From the quaint Christmas/winter decor to the well-appointed kitchen to the real fire place, it was just what we needed to rest and restore. The location is also great - 20 minutes to all the skiing in the area and a good selection of dining, from down home to fine. Pat was great about responding to emails and even mailed our forgotten phone charger back to us.

the area is wonderful! nice shops and charming villages. the house has one bathroom near the kitchen. two bedrooms upstairs and quite a trip to the bathroom in the nite! the property was advertised as having an outdoor fire pit. it was one of the things that attracted us. when we got there the chairs and fire area were buried under a lot of snow. when i asked if the caretaker could uncover, the answer was no. we were disappointed about that. the kitchen was well equipped but some of the things needed to be cleaned or replaced, for example the only small saucepan had burned on food in the bottom. it was replaced after 2 days when i asked. not possible to walk at all from the house....the road is busy and no sidewalks. the living room was pretty and cozy with the wood stove and the internet worked well.

We loved our stay in this quintessential Vermont cabin
I recently enjoyed a three-night stay at the West River Lodge with my wife and two young children, one of who celebrated her eighth birthday during our trip. We spent three days skiing during our visit — two at Magic Mountain and one at Bromley. The location was perfect — about 7 minutes to Magic and 9 minutes to Bromley. It was also less than 1/2 mile from the local market and multiple restaurants.
In addition to the location, the cabin was everything you would expect and hope for in a Vermont ski trip. It was a good size for a family of four (or more) with three nice bedrooms plenty big enough to sleep six. The decorations at every turn added nice touches to the cabin, and I was really impressed with how warm and cozy it was inside from the second we arrive. I had worried that it might be cold or drafty, but it was anything but. I also followed directions for how to start a fire and had no issues doing so.
If this review sounds overly effusive, that's because it was well warranted. This really was the quintessential Vermont ski cabin for a long weekend. We would definitely return again!

Lovely Cabin
My BF and I stayed here the first weekend in December and it was amazing. The cabin was nicely decorated for the season which made it even more cozy. Everything about this cabin we enjoyed. We loved that they were dog friendly and even had cute little dog bowls out for use as well as some treats and dog bags for clean up.
The kitchen has everything you need in terms of appliances and utensils. They also had basic items you might need like cinnamon, salt, pepper, hot chocolate, coffee, tea and some other everyday spices as well as some non perishables like a few canned goods. Which I found very convenient . But if you get there and need anything else don’t worry because about a minute up the street there is a local market, hardware store and also a butcher.
Pat was extremely nice and hospitable. I emailed her a few times while we were there with some questions and she was quick to respond. She took the time to make sure we were settled in and had everything we were needed.
We would definitely stay here again. It’s like a cabin out of a book.

Cozy, cute cabin in an optimal location
This little log cabin was exactly what we were looking for. While three of us drove just 25 minutes to Okemo to ski, one stayed back to curl up by the wood-burning stove to read and drink hot cocoa. Highly recommended!

Rustic cabin with all the modern amenities!
Booked a 3 day stay (6 people) at this rustic but modern cabin, a stone's throw from the Green Mountains. Everything was as listed, and check-in and check-out were a breeze. The complementary visitor book was a nice touch. The fireplace wood burning stove and backyard fire pit made the stay a warm and cordial experience. It was nice to be out in the woods but a mere mile from a small charming town. Restaurants, stores, a bank, and a gas station are a few of the business that are a quick ride or short walk from the property. I would reserve this wonderful cabin again.
