Loved everything about the property. Located 30 minutes from Porto, Casa Valxisto is nestled within a small vineyard. The staff went above and beyond to make our stay memorable. Our suite was spacious with beautiful views and the bed was comfortable. The on-site restaurant served daily breakfast and dinner which were both delicious. Again, Ana, Susana and the rest of the staff provided awesome service. We highly recommend Casa Valxisto for any special occasion or just a nice getaway.

Excellent good local breakfast including scrambled egg. but as most Portuguese it is w/u vegetables
Good location , small farm that you can tour
there are free billiard table, and bike for guests.
The kitchen could be bigger
The room that we got was not close to the parking and with some stairs , so if you have big suitcase it is not ideal.

The hotel is interesting and stylish without being pretentious. They provided a large room, a nice bathroom and a very comfortable bed. We had a ground floor room overlooking the pool. The breakfast had varied choices, was served at table, and was very nice. The staff was as helpful as could be. This is one of the nicest hotels I have stayed in. I wish we could have stayed longer.
It is a little difficult to find in a rural area in the dark. A lighted sign would help.

Beautiful pool, gardens and interiors. They made an effort to create tasty and inventive vegan dinners for us, which we appreciated so much! every single staff member was very kind and nothing was too much trouble!
During our first night we were woken by a crying baby in the next door room, so insulation is not the best. On the morning of our departure, there was a larger group with lots of kids who spent the entire morning running by the pool playing, so we were happy to leave, as much as we loved the place! We had our dog with us, who is anxious with noise and people she does not know, so she was becoming reactive. We will be back, but perhaps not over a weekend when there’s likely to be more kids! :)

Beautiful place, lovely owner, fantastic breakfast delivered to the room as daughter wasn’t feeling well. Located on the edge of a lovely traditional village. Sadly didn’t get to use the pool but it looked great! Would definitely return.

Casa Valxisto could not have been better. The food was so good - we all agreed that we had never eaten so well in that every course was delicious, every night.
The staff were great, always willing to go the extra mile.
The pool is lovely too, so all in all we would say it was perfect, and very good value for money too.
It was hard to find things of interest around the area, although there are some. If you just want somewhere to relax, with very good food that is good value for money then you won't beat Casa Valxisto. If you want sites of interest then you might prefer a different region. There is, though, lots to do in Porto which is about half an hour away.

First of all the staff is very friendly and will accommodate you in any reasonable need. We stayed in the suite with view on the gardens, which was absolutely amazing. They made sure that when you came back of your trip the room would look, feel and smell fresh. The complementary breakfast is also delicious and we would recommend the diner, based mostly on local food and harvest from the gardens.
You have to be aware that the location is somewhat removed from city centers (for us a plus), so a rental car is highly recommended.

Everything was amazing. Unfortunately, because of COVID, tings were limited. But it didn't take away from the great experience we had. All that was done was done to make our stay perfect.

Everything spotless, with excellent COVID preparedness. Great breakfast. Good dinner
We were there in record low temperatures so some of the place was chilly

The best place where we stayed this year. The house is beautiful, the view is fantastic, beautiful sunset, D. Ana (the owner/hostess) is fantastic, the place has a fantastic energy where you feel peaceful and really on vacations. We stayed 2 nights and if we know best we had stayed more...but it was all booked for the following days. The house is inserted in a farm with animals that you can visit, wine yards and blueberries plantations, where you can pick & eat fresh blueberries, it was a great experience for us and the kids. The Breakfast is very good and we also choose to have dinner there, which I recommend since the food & wine are great and you can watch the sunset and the colors that it creates around the mountain. Nearby there is Quintandona a typical village that you should visit and also enjoy a very good meal at the wine bar “Casa da Viúva”. If you like walking trails, there are some nearby, we used the app Wikiloc to find them. You can also ask D. Ana to prepare a picnic basket and take it with you to enjoy nature nearby.
Nothing!
