The room was stunning...walked into our room which we entered through a private bathing pool fit for a queen, filled with fresh filtered water. The bedroom and bathroom were great, very comfortable bed. The horizon pool overlooking the tea estate was a highlight, which was on one side of the hotel. On the other side, at the entrance were lovely gardens with nooks and seats under shady treeswhere you could relax, read a book or simply gaze out over the tea, cinnamon and pepper estate. It's some way out of Kandy-we were picked up by Chamara, the hotel manager extraordinaire from the main road where our taxi dropped us off. From that minute on, we were swept up and looked after so wonderfully! The food was delicious, cooked by Chamara and his also his wife. The estate owner Naleen despite being very busy took us on a tour of the estate explaining how he built it up to what it is now over the years. What a gift. Every single person we met was so kind, warm, genuine. For me, as a Sri Lankan myself, this kind of boutique luxury stands out far from the typical 5-star hotel experience, which can seem the same wherever you go. Strongly recommend for family celebrations, or when a whole bunch of us arrive home for holiday...to take over the place - there are spaces for all ages to enjoy. Do take the little walk across to the lookout shack...its gorgeous, and there are some majestic trees on the way, plus visit the lovely little Buddhist shrine 500 m down the road too.
Nothing at all! It was superb and I loved every single minute of my stay there. Even the heavy rainstorm!

We spent two weeks in Sri Lanka and this was one of our best accommodations. They tried their best to please us, they welcomed us with a welcome drink and the warmest love. Tourists are courted everywhere in Sri Lanka, but here I 1000% felt like I was treated like a queen. Everyone was welcomed at the hotel by a very nice gentleman (he also prepared our breakfast), he was always smiling and cheerful. During the 3 days we spent here, this loan became OUR HOME.
Tbhe view is beautiful, the stars are beautiful. I highly recommend it to anyone who wants to unwind and relax, surrounded by unobtrusive kindness.
It is a bit difficult to find/get to the hotel. We arrived in the dark and I was very afraid that the car would get stuck. The next day they took us down the mountain in a jeep.

The hotel is very nice, the swimming pool is awesome and Chamera treated us amazing!!! We really enjoyed the views in the morning and the swim!!!
The only problem is it’s hard to get there, but if you have your own car, it’s possible. However, think it’s not convenient to go and come back from kandy (it’s more than an hour driving) I recommend it it you come
By car from the airport or Colombo and you want to stop on your way to kandy.

Lovely staff, and a super location. You feel completely off the grid. Decent wifi. Nice tour from the owner over the estate.
Road to the accommodation was challenging. Basically need a 4x4. Toilet was leaking, which caused some smell. Overall the place needs a little upgrade, but also understand the tourist-revenue is below par, so that does not make it easy.

evrything amazing. staff amazing. rooms great. pool view unbelievable. big recommendation.
road to get there very narrow. consider leaving your car or van on the main road and taking tuk-tuk to the house.

Exciting scenery. Charming&friendly staff. You feel like at your relative's home full of love and care.
Highly recommended to feel moments of tranquility 🌸
It's better to order hotel transfer rather than taxi because of hidden location.

amazing location, exceptionally great service! My partner had a birthday and the staff went out of their way to get a cake with candles in the middle of the jungle!
location is amazing, it’s so peaceful around and you can enjoy the nature around is breathtaking!

A beautiful property on a rural farm. We absolutely loved the incredible views from the pool.
The drive down to the property was nerve wracking at times!

Chamara was the best host we could have asked for. So friendly and caring, also he is probably one of the best chefs here. We got the perfect dish with lots of fresh veggies. The place is quite and perfect to relax in the mountains. It has a wonderful view and sunset. Chamara showed us the property with tea, cinnamon, pepper, mangos etc. He helped us to get the train at Kandy station. Nothing bad - we are thankful that we found Old Frankland and Chamara!

Very nice breakfast and amazing fruits
The hotel is simple regarding installations but people and views are just amazing.
We even had a cooking class because of a lockdown for one day.

The swimming pool and magnificent view of the serene mountain. The food was good!
The way to visit the hotel was extremely bad.

The hospitality of the staff and the owner. Chamara is always there to help!
The food is outstanding! Everything is homegrown and is so deliciously prepared. Having a dinner at the place is a must!
The rooms were clean and well prepared but just keep in mind that you're pretty deep in the forest so you sleep around an animal wildlife.

At first we were like: where is the tuktuk guy taking us on this shaky curvy road?
Then we were stunned by the views and the warmest welcome we have had on Sri Lanka: the staff greeted us as if we were family. The room was big and clean, with a balcony overlooking the
pool and the mountains. Dinner was really tasty and breakfast just over the top. We enjoyed the sunset while swimming in the pool with an amazing mountain view and watched the sunrise from our balcony. Really nice to buy some local spice that’s grown right here at the plantation.

Such a beautiful hotel, in a an amazing area, the place is very clean , the food was just perfect. The staff and the host were really beyond helpful and super sweet. They made our stay very comfortable. I would definitely recommend this place. Place is perfect to just relax a bit and run away from noisy City. The pool is great with wonderful view
It is a bit far from Kandy city , but the host can organize transport very easily.
