Ontzettend lieve en sympathieke gastheren. Top service. Prachtig huis. Gezellig en warm.
Alles op loopafstand. Dicht bij het centrum en toch rustig.

Did not have breakfast at the location as wanted to get out and about and explore the city as soon as possible.

We always struggle at hotels with pillows. To big and not soft enough.

Literally everything. I even screamed a little bit when I fell on the bed, as it was so soft. I have never seen such a beautiful building, decoration, coziness. Jan & Marc are very welcoming and serene. The rooms are the prettiest and luxurious I have ever seen and every detail has been thought of. Bonus points for the doggie that walks around!
If I’m coming to Ghent again, I’ll be here!
Nothing.

The building as well as the courtyard were truly marvelous with a lot of attention. The owners and staff were very friendly and forthcoming. I can recommend this place.

Terrible experience ! Bad mouthing their clients, shouting at their clients and showing aggressive behaviors !
I am a lady traveling solo, a frequent in 5 star hotels all around the world, Genius Level 3 member and an experienced traveler with a luxury hotel management degree from a respected hotelier & business administration school. I also do "secret guest" service and reviews for luxury accommodations. Never ever experienced something that bad in my life.
This is a mansion run by two men living in there... who are rather interior designers than hospitality people and this is not a 5-star institution at all. So you're warned.
Please don't fool yourself with the shiny, welcoming photos and "questionable" extremely high ratings.Â
I know and understand how a community and friends sometimes can be mobilized to support a business but it also causes more harm to the industry than support. What you encounter with in this place is exactly the opposite. Read this full review before booking in this property.
Avoid it !
These owners have no idea about professionalism, hospitality, welcoming guests and how to handle the client feedback.Â
Your stay feels like you're bothering them in their private cocoon, instead of you're a client and being taken care of for a relaxing stay and an experience in a nice mansion.
• I was verbally attacked & shouted at by these two men during my check out even after I left the property while I was on the street he was shouting at me with aggressive gestures because I have shared my honest feedback about my stay and did not let them trick me to pay 470 Euros instead of 285 Euros by presenting me a hand written note as my account. When I said it is not my account there must be a mistake, instead of double checking their records, he insisted on it in a very aggressive way. "It is of course your account, this is your accommodation cost. I, myself went on booking.com app and proven them it is not 470 Euros. If I was not paying attention and taking this hand-written account seriously, not having booking.com app in hand I would have paid 470 Euros instead of 285 Euros. No proper apologies were presented but resentments instead. Such a greedy host !
• Intentionally confusing rooms in the advertisement. If all your rooms are different, you should advertise them separately by their names.
• Rigid & negative and passive-aggressive communication on every request. I have seen some similar experiences shared here by some other clients. The owners very much dislike if a client would like to spend time in the garden etc. They were bad-mouthing their clients who spent time in their garden. I needed to wait for my friend to pick me up after check out and asked if I can spend time in the garden. They started shouting at me and bad-mouthing some other clients. Utter disgrace and unprofessionalism.

The BnB was located in the centre of Ghent(5 min walk to the main square). It's situated in a mansion from 1760, which was very nicely decorated.
The owners were very friendly and helpful.
The rooms were spacious and nicely decorated with a huge comfortable bed and a 2 person shower. A bathtub was also installed in a small side room, but it was not really suitable for people who are a bit tall.
Overall a great experience.

Beautiful house very tastefully maintained. The owners are very friendly and helpful. My room was very pretty with a lot of light and the bathroom was big and lovely too. The house has a lovely garden, which unfortunately I could not use since it was cold.
The access to the upper rooms (I got one of them) is via a very narrow staircase. It would be good to get assistance to lug the bag up.
Need more plug points in the room. It’s difficult to find ones to charge devices.
They could think of using the garden more for breakfast.
