About this cottage rental
(Just to let you know that the staff at the Bach have all had our two vaccine shot and we are blocking two days either side of each booking in these uncertain times to keep our guests safe.)
Nice comfortable
self-contained open plan two bedroom house with a rural backdrop.
Sit on the sun drenched deck listening to the native birds and if you are lucky enough see a wild deer or two or goats might stroll pass or have a quiet night on the deck with a wine under the stars.
On colder nights/days sit in the cozy lounge watching a movie or t.v in front of the fire. We have Vodafone tv.(which has :- On Demand, NetFlix, YouTube, etc)
The house is located on a quiet street with a bus stop to go to town for $2.50 or cycle along the lovely whanganui river bank along the mighty whanganui walkway to the historic city center or bustling Saturday markets, the historic Waimarie and #12 tram or cycle up to the Virginia Lake to feed the ducks (Pellets can be brought at the Bach so the kids can feed the ducks) see the Winter Gardens and Bird Aviary.
The house is well built to have the sun in nearly all rooms, most of the day and is very user friendly with an open plan living lounge that can be divided if you what a quiet time away from the kids.
The kitchen is very well stocked with baking utensils etc. and the bathroom is a very spacious wet floor with hand rails for the older guests.
Sorry but the house is not suitable for disability purposes at this stage.Due to to the three steps into the house in the front, with hand rail and the deck steps at the back. but once in the house is fairly wheelchair friendly.
When it comes to bedtime you are sure to have a good sleep in the super king size bed fitted with snuggly polar sheets so warm that you probably won't need the electric blanket that is supplied.
The owners are very willing to make your stay rememberable as possible. Just ask and we will try our best to help out with extra beds,Having the fire going on arrival , bottle of wine chilling, bunch of flowers for that romantic weekend on request for a small charge.
FREE coffee/tea/hot chocolate (milk for hot drinks)

Great little house. Very quiet neighbourhood. Very friendly owners. Lost of little details to make you feel welcome. A little note on the fridge and homemade jams available.
More than enough firewood for cosy nights.

We had a wonderful stay in Whanganui staying in this Bach . The pile of wood for the fire and great heating meant we soon made the Bach cosy and homely and comfortable and all we could wish for for a lovely family get together. Many thanks to our hosts for making us feel so welcome and comfortable.

Home away from home
As always a very pleasant stay. The fire heats the house up very quickly so even in winter it's comfortable and it was wonderful to arrive with the fire already laid. Kitchen is well stocked with utensils. We've stayed here several times now and enjoy it every time.

Perfectly peaceful
A beautiful homely place to lay my head for a bit of rnr. The hosts were lovely accommodating folk. The eggs from their chooks were marvelous. Lovely outside seating area. You have the best of both worlds here. Read, do jigsaws, enjoy the rural scenery while still being very close to the city centre. I will return. Thank you for sharing your home with us.

Fantastic place to stay
The impression as we pulled in was of an immaculately presented property. Beautiful landscaping outside was then augmented by a great little house inside. the Christmas tree was a very special touch at this time of year. Normally I don't like the "shower/sink/toilet with no separation" bathrooms, but this one worked way better than most. Lovely place, highly recommended, and would return again.

Peaceful haven
Excellent little home away from home. All essentials covered. Bird and sheep noises a bonus to the backdrop of the hill and plant life scenery from the deck.
Peaceful home/property like we were staying out of town.
Will definately use again as a get away haven.
