Very comfortable superior room, spacious lovely bed and excellent quality bedding. We appreciated the late checkout time. Loved the art on the walls of the corridors.
Rather rambling with lots of stairs but

The location is excellent. The staff were all friendly and polite and made our stay most enjoyable.

We liked that the parking was available right next to the hotel
Check in is automatic.
There was no lift and nobody to help us with our luggage.
We paid 400pounds for 2 nights, the walls were dirty, the cups of tea/coffee had not been cleaned up. And there was absolutely no water pressure in the shower! We were two females friends with long hair, hiking during the day and we could not even enjoy a (proper) shower because of it. It's unacceptable given the price we paid for the stay. We are disappointed and angry about how the hotel handle the situation (knowing that offering a breakfast does not change the fact that we can't shower) and now that we left, they reply anymore.
Angry and won't recommend.

The rooms were big and comfortable and the bathrooms clean. The location was great and the food was good.
The services wasn't great, we booked in as a group of 14 and there was no one to check us in. We sat down for dinner and he said to make it easier for breakfast as we had to leave at 8am, he would take our order now. The message never got to the morning staff and so half of us didn't have a proper breakfast before doing the three peak challenge which wasn't great. The staff were nice about it but it was all a bit of a muddle.

Beautiful hotel with amazing views across Ben Nevis. They were very accommodating, helpful and friendly. I asked for a room with a balcony and I got the most amazing room, beautiful, with the balcony overlooking the mountains. The food was fantastic. The staff were lovely. The rooms were beautifully decorated and spotless. Of all my travels this is the best hotel I have stayed in.
It was perfect

Lovely room overlooking the Caledonian Canal. Beautiful bathroom.
All was good

Fabulous location on the Caledonian Canal.
Stayed here in 2018 and the hotel seems to have been a bit neglected since then. Stains on carpets, light in bathroom not working, hotel looking a bit rundown, staff trying to be helpful but ineffective. It has 4 stars but certainly not up to 4 stars standard this year.

everything was excellent, the location the views, and the food could not find any faults at all, staff very friendly, the views were out of this world, i would stay here again, and i would recommend it to all my friends and family it was our favourite hotel in scotland
nothing at all, everything was good,

The location is great. The breakfast was good, if a little old fashioned, the staff were friendly
Room was small and awkward, the bathroom old fashioned with poor water pressure. The whole place felt more three star than 4 star. The breakfast had very standard cereals and sliced industrial bread and the fruit toppings were straight out of tins and were orange segments and prunes. They had avocado toast on the menu but had clearly never seen it served anywhere else. The breakfast was £17 on top of the £170 for the night - felt very poor value.

Literie confortable
Hôtel situé Le long du canal

Near to Neptune’s Ladder and the canal
Very dated, no small fridge, no air conditioning, it was an extremely hot day when we checked in (Sept 7, 2023). The bathroom seals were mouldy, really unhygienic and not very pleasant to see

It was in a lovely location near the Canal with stunning views of the mountains
The tv had hardly any channels . The shower had no water pressure and wasn’t warm enough . Stubbed toe on bed as little room between wall
And bed.

Excellent meals, both dinner and breakfast.
Ideal location for my canalside walks.
Helpful, friendly hotel team.
Nothing of note.

No lift facility.
Tried calling front desk all day with no reply whatsoever.
Staff not so knowledgeable as regards food allergies.

The room and the view were amazing and we have stayed here previously in this very room.
We had several problems, the hotel never responded to the issues below, sent by both email and through Booking.com.
"The electronic lock was not functioning as it should and every time we wanted access to our room we had to contact a member of staff to get us back in. This involved violently pulling the door handle to try and get it to unlock. I was unwilling to pull and bang the door to this extent for fear of damaging the handle assembly. The staff at this point were unable to progress a repair on the lock. We actually resorted to holding the door open so the catch would not engage and taking our valuables with us when we left the room, for the fear of actually not being able to get back into the room at all.
To compound this issue the lock started to ‘click’ during the night keeping me awake most of the night. Moving the internal door handle resolved this for a period, but after about 15 minutes the clicking started again. I have an audio recording of this if you want to see how annoying this was in a silent room. I didn’t see the point in contacting the staff as they seemed lost to a way forward with the locking issue, so I suspect that the clicking issue would have resulted in much the same response.
Overall I was very disappointed that the staff were unable to resolve the locking issue and my feelings on the resulting loss of a night’s sleep are best left alone.
We have been avid travellers for many years and have had a very pleasant stay at The Moorings in the past, actually in this very same room. This is the first time I have ever written a complaint about a stay anywhere as I just feel that the response to the lock issue, the comment that ‘I can’t get anyone until Monday’ to repair it, the lack of room security and constant clicking during the night were drastically below the standard of what I would expect for a £270 per night room. I have also sent this complaint directly via email from your website link".

Located beside some channel locks.
The room was located just above the kitchen or some other technical room with some sort of fan. Basically the entire room was vibrating, actually kind of shaking. We jocked that we got a free massage in bed, due to bad vibration. Indeed the fan was turned off at 10:20 pm but it was turned on again about 7am. That's not acceptable, not to mention the room price...

Due to several er..cock ups with Booking.com I was impressed with the professional approach from the staff in resolving the problems.

excellent location
check in staff have been replaced by a self check in mechanism which threw an error. staff inattentive then could not understand what we were ordering (in plain English). Breakfast overcooked and porridge tasted like instant porridge. back to room at 9am and room keys had timed out despite checkout being 11am. great location but staff somewhat lacking …

Lovely location at the bottom of Ben Nevis and the meal was nice.
Expensive for a 1 night stay and the Hotel reception and rooms are very tired.

Breakfast good. Location excellent
The cafe closes to non residents for a period late afternoon. Poor feedback from people trying to get service in a lovely outside terrace

Looked a little outdated from outside and even going up to the room but our room was fabulous and we had a lovely view. Self check in was handy we were so tired and didn't want to que up and fill out forms. Restaurant staff all very nice and the man on reception who we spoke to briefly. The place we stayed in after the Moorings was awful and we wished we had of booked the 3 nights in moorings not just 1
Food finished up quite early. 815 is early to us as we were driving and travelling and not arriving to our hotels untill late but they squeezed us in and we had an okay dinner. Drinks on the decking were fabulous 👌

The location and views of Neptunes Staircase, along with the outstanding service.
The weak shower stream pressure

Great location although not in the centre of town the scenery is stunning. Have stayed before and would stay again, parking good for our bikes, breakfast was good although disappointed it was an additional £15 on top of a room that cost circa £200 for a night.
Cost circa £200 for 1 night with breakfast not included, did not think it was value for money. Stayed the following evening in Ullapool for the same standard of service at a cost of £125!

It was easy to check in and it was really nice have a great restaurant attached to the space. We were super tired from hiking and the food at the restaurant was delicious. The bed was comfortable.
The room was pretty small and the water pressure in the shower wasn't great.

The location was perfect for us. The staff very friendly, hard working and obliging
They ran out of basics such as wine choices, lager and bitter from the first night of our stay and there were far to few staff for the need’s of the hotel guests BUT the one there were trying their hardest in all aspects

Great location right by Neptune's Staircase. Lovely big room and great bathroom. Staff were all friendly. Shame we were only there for one night.

Staff !!! Especially lady that worked behind the bar on our stay , was it name of Caroline ? Cannot recall it precisely , but seems like a manager of the place or so .
- Some people were allowed to check-in earlier, others not to .
- Disabled room for Enabled people . Totally fine, we don't differentiate people, but for nearly or the same price in Oban I've had much better room if compared with .
