Good Hostel for stay and surf

It's close to the city center, it's easy to meet new people and it has a cozy community space to work, chill and connect inside and outside. It's not a party hostel but you can have daily surf classes there.

The rooms could be bigger and an additional bathroom would be nice.

Great stay

Nice location, great stuff and good equipment in the kitchen. Met a lot of people there and all in all I had a great time! Good for solo travellers.

I loved the location and the people there. There is a lot of space and places to sit and the hostel is in a good location for surfers or people who want to explore ericera

There was no air conditioning so I got a bit hot sometimes

Great atmosphere, awesome staff and super location + facilities.

The location is great, in a quiet part of town, next to the beach and within walking distance to almost everywhere. The staff was super friendly, and the atmosphere in the hostel is very chilled and inviting. The kitchen is super well equipped and the terrace is great for relaxing.

OK budget option

location is great right in front of the ocean i stayed in a private room and the room was clean

no staff anywhere in the 2 days i was there, not a homely feel. although it seemed it was cleaned every day, it needs a deep clean, especially the fridges. its all a little dated and could do with a refresh.

Perfect place to stay for surf enthusiastics. Highly recommended!

The staff was extremely nice and atmosphere very chill. Also location was perfect, only 5-10min walk to the beach.

The only thing that came unexpected during our stay was the 50€ tourist fee (for two people) that we weren’t aware of.

The staff was very friendly. Location is quite good, very close to the city center, and a short walk from the beach (Praia do Sul). Kitchen well equipped (and there's enough space for everyone's food). The bunk beds are quite sturdy and there's blinds to keep the room dark at night.

Wifi super weak (especially in the rooms), so if you're coming to work from here, it might be a better idea to find a co-working space or a café. The walls are paper-thin and the windows are facing a road, so if you're a light sleeper, definitely bring earplugs. There's also no bed lamps or power sockets by the bed, so that is a bit inconvenient.

Perfect base for relaxing between surfs and meeting nice people.

This is a lovely place to stay in Ericeira and such good value for money. Great location in front of Praia del sul which had good waves when I was there, and only a very short walk to town. The hostel has a good kitchen and cosy shared areas. Most of all the host is incredibly nice and helpful.

The staff is friendly and kind. The beds are comfortable. Good surf instructors. Good view of the water.

Definitely not enough bathrooms for the number of people. Can be very loud at night and there were people sleeping overnight on the living room couches which made the "common space" uncomfortable because it feels like you were in someone's bedroom. The bathroom and kitchen got dirty often towards the end of the day. Some partying and loud people at night, woke up one morning to the kitchen a complete mess I could barely make breakfast. I was paying for a dorm room with three people and they tried to put another person in there without telling me (it was a pull-out bed under the bunk but would take up all the floor space so you couldn't get into the bottom bunk or walk across the room). Then they said they would have that person sleep on the couch in the living room, but when I got home that night they were sleeping in my dorm.

A social hub boasting beachside vistas in the heart of Ericeira.

Mauricio (host) was extremely welcoming and knowledgeable about local surf/nightlife. We felt at home and welcome straight away. The location and rooms were lovely and in line with the surf/ skate vibe present throughout the hostel. Thoroughly enjoyed my week and would return to H55 in a heartbeat. Obrigado!

Nice low key place with friendly hosts

Great place if you’re wanting something low key and self-catering. Quiet during the week. The kitchen was handy. The hosts were friendly and helpful. We were able to hire surf gear at a good price.

At times the place was a bit messy and dirty from other guests.

Home away from Home

This hostel is like a home away from home. I came here as a guest and completely fell in love not only with the hostel at itself, but more with these lovely people who work there and who’ve made this to something very special. Maurico is one of the nicest and coolest guys I’ve met and he’s giving the hostel this chill (Brazilian) vibes. But also Andreia, Gonzalo, Miguel, Rafa and Gabi give the hostel that home feeling and it was always so much fun before, during or even after the Surflessons. They take good care of you and you’ll always feel safe. Im really happy that I met all of you and can’t wait to see you again! Muito obrigada e nos vemos em breve 🧡

Amazing hostel !! Everyone there is so friendly and helpful. Good location to meet new people all around world. Surf lessons were awesome and I learned a lot! I can really recommend this place and I can really recommend this place ☺️
