About this house rental
This beautiful home was built in 2010 with a wall of windows displaying panoramic views of Delaware Bay. If you seek quiet, relaxation and gorgeous sunsets, this is the place for you. Located just 9 miles north of downtown Cape May and 8 miles east of Diamond Beach, Wildwood, there are plenty of activities for everyone in your party. For nature lovers, bring your binoculars to observe the osprey, eagles and other birds native to Cape May. Launch your own Kayak at high tide from our beach or go for long walks with your dog.
The water is very shallow and great fun to dig up conch shells in the sand bar at low tide. For family members who prefer a bit more action, drive to down town Cape May for shopping, restaurants and swimming in the ocean. The kids will love the rides on the Wildwood boardwalk as well as rafting in the ocean on Diamond Beach. Return home after a day of activity and fall asleep to the sound of the water splashing just outside your window.
Please crate your dog if you intend to leave them unattended.
Two dogs maximum and no puppies.
No Cats!
No smoking in the house!

We have been coming for 7 years to this beautiful home. It is absolutely stunning and the sunsets are breathtaking!

Had a spectacular week at this amazing location. Beautiful sunsets. Great beach access. Everything as advertised. Plenty of space for the whole family.

A week with our daughter’s & preschool granddaughters, who loved exploring the extensive low tide sandbars and seeing the horseshoe crabs and laughing gulls. Lots of local restaurants and services and only a 20 minute drive to Wildwood and Cape May.

Beautiful property and beautiful views of the bay-sunsets, pelicans, an eagle and other birds. Only problem I had was with my GPS which did not want to put the address in to come to and from the property, so just put in a business nearby to get back and forth from Cape May.
Thank you for such a lovely stay.

We enjoyed staying here. It was what we were looking for- on the quiet side of Cape May, lots of wildlife ( we spotted bald eagles, a coyote, many seabirds and tons of bunnies!) The neighborhood was peaceful, the house is nicely set up and was clean. The owner was responsive and we had a great time here.

We had an amazing time, thank you John for allowing us to stay in your home. The house was exactly as described, but better. The views are amazing throughout the house and the perfect décor in each room. We brought our dog who also loved everything about this property. The stairs are carpeted which made it easy for her to get up and down since she has a bad leg.
We saw the resident eagle, many seagulls and egret. The bay at low tide is so cool, it recedes where you are able to walk out about 400 feet. Just like the song says, sitting on the dock of the Bay, watching the tide roll away.

Our family had such a wonderful week. The house was impeccably clean with anything we needed. The location is heaven, quiet and very private feeling. Views of the bay and sunsets we even better than we hoped. Highly recommended.

Property owner was easy to connect with. The views are stunning! Grocery stores are 15 mins away, dollar store, Wildwood's Atlantic Ocean and of course the Cape May Town exit 0, 20 mins away. This is Thanksgiving weekend when this review is being posted. Atlantic City 40 mins north. The best part is you can bring your dog! My Luna had a blast running on the bay beach area of the Delaware River, right outside!!!

Overall Great Experience and Beautiful Views. The inside of the home was well kept and accommodating.
The outside of the property could use some upkeep/maintenance to control the natural landscape growth. Many areas were a bit overgrown and made it difficult to open car doors, transport luggage, and walk to the sand area at the bay.
The sand location down to the waterline felt ultra private and relaxing.
One turnoff was the presence of Security cameras inside the house as it pulled from the wanted feeling of complete relaxation/disconnect from it all. The owner did call to ask that we turn the cameras to face the wall, but still knowing they were active and in the area was a bit of a disappointment.
All in all though a great place to disconnect and relax with amazing views which I would recommend to anyone (and their pooch)!

Peace and quiet abound at the Round House. The location was perfect for our family - on the beach overlooking the bay and the dunes. An open floor plan enabled us to all be together whether we were watching the waves roll in, cooking breakfast or watching TV. The 3 balconies were wonderful for reading, relaxing and bird watching. The primary suite was spacious with a double sink in the bathroom and dual shower heads. The other 2 bedrooms were generously spaced. We all loved our time at the Round House and hope to return again!

Not only is the house beautiful but it has a private beach and the sunsets on the bay are spectacular. It is quiet yet not far from the center of Cape May and the numerous wineries and wonderful farms. We will no doubt visit again.

I am offering a fair and honest review of our experience at this property.
Our stay was not what we were hoping for or expecting. Upon arrival, you can clearly see that the property needs some TLC and hands on, basic maintenance. Honestly, it looks abandoned since ALL of the “yard” is grossly overgrown and even prohibits getting out of your car without brush rubbing against the door. Quite frankly, it looks, and is, horrible. Not even remotely groomed in any way, shape or form. I am well aware that most often times, beach homes do not have typical lawns but this mess is just neglect.
There is no debate regarding the beautiful sunsets and the cleanliness of MOST of the home. The ( indoor) shower floor was loaded with sand and all around the shower base along the walls there was black mold. Yeah, I know it can get sandy at a beach house, but I don’t think there’s any good excuse for a gritty, moldy shower. I’m assuming the previous renter paid cleaning fee like I did but obviously somebody dropped the ball. Fact of the matter is mold doesn’t happen overnight. A previous review from years ago (yes, years) mentioned a “cracked patio door”. If that reviewer was talking about one of the master bedroom’s glass doors leading out to the balcony, surprise! It’s still there, cracked from top to bottom.
The most negative thing we encountered was upon entrance to the house. We were greeted with a surveillance camera in the downstairs foyer, only to go upstairs and find 3 more cameras with audio input/output in the living area. We thought we were in the Big Brother house. We called VRBO re: the cameras and were told cameras inside the property are prohibited. We were uncomfortable knowing we could be seen and heard apparently at will. Here’s the kicker: I went back and saw a review from May 2014 citing the cameras indoors. The owner response was that their presence was disclosed in the rental agreement. I did not receive, see, sign, or get informed of any cameras. Why this has been allowed to continue, I do not know. If there are so many problems with vandalism, robberies, etc in the off season that it makes indoor cameras necessary AT THAT TIME, why are they all allowed to be there during the height of the summer when the house is occupied? This is a complete and total invasion of privacy. Period. 100% creepy no matter what explanation may be offered. There can be no acceptable reason for 4 cameras inside the home. Creepy, and unacceptable.

All a-round beautiful house with stunning views
John was an absolute pleasure to talk with. Checking in easy peasy. Once there, you'll never want to leave. Beautiful home with breathtaking views, sunsets. Very quiet location, but close to all. Much wildlife to be seen. White herrings, bald eagles, too many bird species to mention..Tons of horseshoe crabs, dolphins and sand sharks. Totally serene.
House was well kept, clean and had all the comforts of home.
Looking forward to our return.
Thanks John!

Great house in a beautiful location
We brought together family from NY, IL, PA, and VA to have Thanksgiving in 2021. The location is stunning! We enjoyed fabulous sunsets each night. The furniture is quite comfortable and arranged to maximize conversation. The kitchen is top-notch, with gas cooktop! We would love to come back in the summer to enjoy the beach.

Comfortable and full of nature
This is a lovely house. It was designed for comfort and being able to see all of nature's beauty. With wetlands to the east and Delaware Bay to the west, there isn't a moment of the day when there isn't something interesting to see. The house makes everything easy. The kitchen is fairly well equipped and the beds and bathrooms are comfortable. We loved our stay at this property.

Nice...a bit grime and sticky (chairs), some dishes dirty. Not enough soap or other helpful stuff.
It was ok. View perfect, house perfect cleanliness not so, not well organized (laundry room). Lite switch one didn't work, cracked patio door, and towel rack broken our stay was just ok. No response from the owner once we were here ( not sure if we had the correct number??).

Birdwatchers Paradise!
Our family thoroughly enjoyed our stay on the Delaware Bay at the "Roundhouse"! The house is very well equipped, and is in excellent updated condition, and had everything we needed to accomodate our four adults, toddler and infant for a lovely, socially distanced stay. As a bonus not included in the listing, there is a powder room on the second floor, which was very convenient. The house does have lots of stairs that must be negotiated to reach the bedrooms and the beach, but our toddler did not have any trouble on them, and a baby gate was available. The furnishings and beds are comfortable and the tasteful, beach decor highlighted the amazing panoramic views of the bay and nature preserve. The birdwatching is the best that we have ever experienced in the Cape May/Townbank/Villas area. Daily we saw Bald Eagles, Golden Eagles, egrets, osprey, cranes, and every imaginable variety of gull and sandpiper. We love the Delaware Bay beaches, so we were not surprised by the shallow water, sand bars, and horseshoe crabs. This house is blessed with a very nice stretch of bay beach, with a firm bottom that allowed wading far out at high tide. The beach felt very private and we loved playing in the water, finding sea treasures, building in the sand, and checking out the crabs. It’s a quick and easy drive to Villas and Cape May where we enjoyed amazing meals and fun shopping. I would highly recommend this rental and very much hope to return there.

As soon as we pulled into the driveway, we knew that we picked the perfect place to stay for our trip to Cape May. Instantly, we felt at peace amidst nature: the beautiful sky, the untamed grass, the soothing sounds of the tide ebbing and flowing. The house itself is spacious. It easily accommodated our family of two adults and three children (ages 10, 6, and 5). When we walked upstairs and saw the panoramic view—all of the windows that welcomed the beauty of the surrounding area—we were completely amazed that a place could be so magnificent. There are two balconies upstairs, where we spent quite a bit of time admiring the Delaware Bay. We were able to witness how the sun appears to sink into the water. Truly, an unforgettable experience. At night, the setting is divine; the sky is dark enough to actually see the stars. We spent every night sitting outside looking up. If you love nature, you will enjoy seeing the birds that visit the bay every day. We had so much fun seeing them. We also loved walking on the beach at low tide and seeing the interesting lives of the horseshoe crabs. My youngest daughter especially loved flipping them right side up, so that they could safely get back to the water when the tide came back in. While an assortment of restaurants and stores are minutes away—and Cape May itself a mere 15-minute drive away—the house somehow provides the tranquil feeling of being alone with nature. I am grateful to the owners for opening their home to us. They have given us the opportunity to have a unique experience, and I know we will all treasure these moments for the rest of our lives.
