Ottima posizione per vedere l'aurora boreale.
Cucina spaziosa
Bagno sporco e senza carta igienica

The location was perfect for us.
Not too keen on sharing sleeping quarters but for the price, it wasn’t too intrusive.

The property was conveniently located. The common area was nice and bright. Each bed had a light so you could stay up and read or do what you needed to do without the main light being on.
The beds were very squeaky. Every time someone moved it was very loud.

The beds were nice and comfortable. they weren’t sloppy and the view from the lava field was nice. It’s super well located
the bathrooms are right in the entrance so it’s kinda weird but still doable. you can also hear everything that’s happening in the kitchen when you’re in your room.

It's close to the lake and everything in Myvatn. Had the dorm room to myself as no one else stayed in the room. Staff was very friendly. The dorms are just across the road near the lava fields in front of the lake. Pretty amazing view from there! Parking right in front of the hostel available.
The kitchen was very close to the room. The walls aren't very sound proof so you can hear all the noise from the kitchen and the foot steps on the floor. Bathroom is quite small and had to stay in line in the morning to get ready and brush my teeth. Also I didn't realize it was a sleeping bag accommodation. I didn't read the very first email they sent to me that there is a charge of 2500 ISK for bed linen. If you don't tell them 24hrs before, you pay 3000 ISK. In my opinion that's a rip off. A few extra bucks for linen is okay but this much?!?! Wasn't very pleased with this and in total not worth for what it is.

The lady was incredible the hostal was on renovation só she went to pick me up and put me on a guesthouse with even more consitions, on a room alone. She was very helpfull and the place amazing. ,

Very convenient location. I reserved a bunk bed, but I had a room just for me. Suitable for a one-night stay.
The hostel is a provisional house, a bit worn-out. Luckily I had a whole dorm for me as I could not imagine sleeping there in four due to lack of space. Hostel wanted even extra money for bed linen.

Very huge shared kitchen and dining area. Dorm room was comfortable enough for sleeping.

This hostel was well situated for visiting the Myvatn area, and was close to the meeting point for the trip I booked to Askja. The kitchen facilities were very good, but as alone traveller I felt swamped by two large groups who were there on my first night.
The room felt cramped and airless.

Location is as expected. It’s a good spot for a sleep, quick meal and shower.
Don’t expect a cozy hang out to chill.
As mentioned already in the reviews, it’s very loud. The beds are squeaking much more than you could accept and you hear everybody’s bed sounds from across the rooms. You can also hear everybody’s steps in the corridor.
The kitchen is quite under equipped as mentioned already. The ressources and amenities available compared to the amount of traffic of tourists is quite low.
I think it’s also a bit overpriced for what you get compared to other hostel we’ve been to. But I guess being the only hostel around the lake justifies it.

A place to sleep with shower!
Alot hair in shower, many dirty people making much noise and uncomfortable bed.

family room nice and at the end of the floor. bath and restrooms functional but ok. the kitchen is well equipped to allow nice cooking after your hike.

Eating area was very spacious but the kitchen needs ventilation. Rooms were not too spacious but clean.
Showers and bathrooms need serious renovation. Also the hot water smells badly of sulphur

Price/quality ratio was super! It was not expensive if you consider Iceland's prices.
Bathrooms and showers were very basic but overall good (maybe cleaning could be a bit improved but overall they weren't dirty; it also depends on other guests).
Rooms were little but comfortable and clean.
Kitchen was big with 2 sinks and like 8 burners and the dining area was spectacular: it was a big open space with glass walls so you could admire the light of the sky and that was amazing.
Location was good: by car all the main attractions of lake Myvatn were pretty close (not more than 20-25 min).
Really recommended if you need a cheap but comfortable stay in lake Myvatn area.

The only good in the place was the breakfast: a lot of varieties, tastefull, nice. But also quite expensive, almost 20 EUR per person.
Small noisy rooms: only four people in dormitory isn´t garantee you will be sleeping well. Paper walls, you hear snoring people from other rooms, you hear steps in corridor and party in the dining room. For such big number of people (I dont know exactly, I mean 16 rooms x4 people=64 people) only two male toilets. All common places just to small for such big trafic! I stayed two nights (didnt know how terrible it is )and I had to change the room .. why??!! Staff smiling.. but not so much helpfull ..

the glass front common room was super cool with the nice view to the lava field
the beds were loud so we couldn’t sleep
too less toilets and showers for so many people
no curtains in the rooms

We had a family room with two bunk beds. It was great for our family of four. The kitchens were very well equipped. We were there mid July and had plenty of space to make dinner and breakfast in the morning. The location is fantastic and we couldn‘t find anything. etter in the price range.
The building is getting pretty old and the bathroom floor was often wet but there was a wipe to dry it with. But on the whole quite comfortable.

Environment
A bit noisy ( noise from the kitchen). Very expensive.

Got the biggest bed on the bottom bunk. Nice rooms (remember to bring sheets). Good sized kitchen and dining room.
Showers were super tiny. Quiet hours are also not enforced (dining room echoes and guests were up drinking and shouting well past 12 pm).

the location
the room was small and the ratio guests/toilets is bad

Location was great. Friendly vibe among guests. Several families traveling together. Dining room is full of windows with a nice view.
The building is pretty much made of plywood and the kitchen is tiny and under stocked for the volume of guests
