Nothing. Very cramped and claustrophobic!
We were numerous times to make sure we were out by 10.00 am on 2nd day as they had people booked. We hadn't even arrived the first time we were told! Were told his wife had to take time off to clean at 10.00 on day 2. (Not our problem). Didn't feel welcome. Owner kept hovering around outside in his garden and spent all evening mowing a huge lawn, preventing us from sitting there. Owner spent remainder of evening dining in his garden sitting facing our bedroom window and balcony outside so we had to draw curtains. Dog kept barking at us each time we set foot outside and cbased us back in. We had to walk up a pathway to a bench to be able to smoke rather than just stand outside our lodge in garden area. Shower was so low we had to bend over double to wash our hair. Kitchen tap didn't work and was very stiff dripping all night.Very wobbly bed with expired mattress cobwebs overhead. We felt we were at our parents house!!

Good WiFi. Quiet location.

It fits the location I wanted for my retreat. A place far from the city with clean air and fresh weather. It was lovely and quiet. I will love to go back. The outside area with table and chair was fantastic for me. I did most of my thinking and writing there. Gary really put me through on how to get around the area. I missed the seafood at the harbour. I am coming back for it.
I love everything really, just that the cleaner may love to pay more attention on the cobwebs around the rooms, some people may be arachnophobia.

Outstanding lodge situated on the owners property. So comfortable, cosy and peaceful. Very quiet location. Gary and his wife were very warm and welcoming. The lodge is clean and tidy with everything you need. Buses stop just over the road and only £2 to get down to Whitstable and Herne Bay.. No need to drive once at the property. I would highly recommend for a couple. The lodge has a comfortable double bed. Give it a try you will love this delightful lodge in the country.
We loved everything even the friendly dog..

There is absolutely nothing we didn't like.

Lovely place, quiet and peaceful.
Wish there were toiletries.

It was really quiet and peaceful and private. The host had a very friendly dog that would came in the morning to say hello.

Host was ok
The shower was only usable if you were under 5ft 5" tall. I'm 6ft and had to bend and kneel. The entrance to the property is on a 40mph speed limit road.

Good location. All amenities in the property for an easy stay.
A bit of private space to sit in the garden. Only outside area was a very small balcony looking into owners garden.

clean cosy and comfortable
if I’m being picky - the Shower is good for shorter people like myself

Was a lovely clean well looked after lodge with everything inside you needed. The lady and gentleman were so kind and helpful. Bed was comfortable. We slept very well. You are 2 mins away from a bus stop taking you both ways to Whitstable and Canterbury. Easy and not far to travel. Busses run about every 15 minutes so you don't have to wait around for long. Very handy so we could both drink and not have to worry about the car. We loved staying there and cant wait to come back.

Good location
Very clean
Lovely decorated
The bed - much too soft and wobbly
Would give this property a 10 if it wasnt for the bed

Private, quirky accommodation, very clean.
Bed was a bit too soft and bouncy for my liking, but then some people like that. Shower was a bit hard to control the temperature and due to the location you couldn’t stand directly under it, but I’m being picky

Everything else. Lodge was well equipped. Bus stop outside made it possible for us to not have to use the car for the duration of the trip.
The bed. It was soft and uncomfortable.
4.4
Clean, tidy, comfgortable. Almost everything had been thought of and included.
Sel- contained accommodation with separate access from the main house, made coming and going a breeze!
Shower needs a little adjustment

Excellent location for getting to Whitstable by bus and for local walk.
Clean and tidy property with everything needed for our 2 night stay - plus biscuits, beer and wine!
4.4
Nice secluded and very private accommodation. Lovely couple who own the home and very much leave you be.
It’s a little on the expensive side.

I liked the comfy bed. That’s it.
The fact the hosts were watching you what felt like constantly.
They woke us up at 9am on the last day. I don’t actually know why. I can only assume it’s because I requested a late check out, which was refused, which is obviously perfectly fine, worth and ask, and they must have felt I wouldn’t be trusted to stick to the time? So I didn’t even get the lay in I had paid so much for this weekend.
They also called us to say we was being loud at 11.30pm. When we was just talking. To have heard me from a lodge 5m from the house says they must have been literally standing outside.
We chose this place as it was detached, meaning we felt we had more privacy. Not at all.
This place was very expensive to be babysat the whole weekend. It felt like I paid nearly £400 to be judged as a young couple.
I have 4 children at home. We came to escape and relax as a couple. It was awful. Made me feel like a child.
All the other reviews must have been from older couples because our stay did not reflect this and I actually left quite upset. I looked after this property, respected all rules, and left the property how I left it like any adult would. We should not have been treated how we was.
If your a young couple stay in the fisherman’s huts on the beach. They are better and the hosts are more welcoming of younger people. Our friends stayed there and they really enjoyed their stay for half the price. We did not.

Lovely place to stay comfortable and relaxing. Lovely hosts too.

Very friendly hosts and really lovely apartment in a garden. Wine and biscuits in the fridge came in really handy too! I'll definitely be back.
Location is close to the road so you might get some traffic noise coming through.

Cleand and good location.
No privacy, we wasn't able to use balcony because the owners was around made feel uncomfortable. Also the dog running around coming inside the house, we wasn't aware that there is a dog.
