Beautiful location - especially at night and in the morning. Our host, Johann, was truly an inspiration to all of us. He was so welcoming and warm, as well knowledgeable about the environment.

Tolle Lage vorm Schloss. Schöner Pool. Wunderschöne Garten Anlage. Historisches Ambiente.
Zimmer zwar schön aber sehr stickig. Keine AC, kein Kühlschrank.

This is the stop to get to know the Namibian people with long discussion with Joachim. The horse riding activity with Bettina was really good
The food was also very good both for dinner and breakfast

Like an oasis in the desert is this clean and comfortable guest house in a picturesque spot with a tranquil atmosphere. Dinner was excellent and the hot water bottle at bedtime much appreciated.

the location of the lodge is incredible, the lodge itself is surrounded by lavender bushes and palm trees, the rooms are big and bright, the pool is perfect with sun-beds under a pergola. they kindly prepared a toastie for us for lunch which was delicious. dinner was all home cooked and was simple and tasty. highly recommend this lodge as a stop off for the long drive to canyon.

Third time we have stayed here on our trips through Namibia. First time we have stayed in the guest house and have camped on other occasions. The setting is superb and the property has been tastefully renovated without distracting from its history. Joachim is a superb host and was always helpful and chatty. Serves a good breakfast and dinner also available. Great to unwind here for a day or two with a beautiful pool area and views over the valley
Duwiseb Castle is still closed As NWR seem disinterested in opening up a real historical heritage gem. It is also falling into disrepair but this is no fault of the owners of the guesthouse.

Good hosts - Great meals
Bedside lights could be higher and stronger to allow for better lighting especially if wanting to read in bed at night....

Very friendly and entertaining host, comfortable, nicely decorated and clean room. The history of the building is well preserved and interesting. Dinner well prepared and tasty with homely feel.
Pity about the wifi as it is the only way of communicating with loved ones at home.

Great owner with so much knowledge of the area and Duwisib castle. If we ever get the change, we'd certainly stay there again.
We just loved everything!

The owner! He is such a nice person and a good cook! I got in a bit late about 8 pm from a long drive and he made me dinner. He and his son also helped me with the car battery the next morning. There is nothing around so look up at the sky. Hard to find a place with more stars!! The property is very cute, rooms comfortable. Wifi worked at the reception and at my room but not all rooms.

It was a lovely farm next to an old German castle. Jochen, the owner the owner, was very talkative and I enjoyed talking about his life on the farm, his past and the whole German-Namibian thing.
